"What… fog?"
A warm, slippery mist wrapped around Tenra, and before he could blink, the world had changed. Gone was the tavern—he now stood in a shadowy, unfamiliar dimension.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion rocked the air overhead. Tenra squinted up to see Azazel, clad in golden armor, locked in a furious aerial duel with a young man in flowing Han robes, a war spear flashing in his grip.
Inside Tenra, his Sacred Gear Plunder surged with excitement. Even from a distance, he recognized that spear instantly.
The strongest Longinus—True Longinus.
There was no doubt: the man fighting Azazel was none other than Cao Cao, the Hero Faction's infamous leader.
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.
Explosions rolled across the battlefield. Tenra didn't need anyone to explain—Khaos Brigade had launched a full-scale ambush. Renare had already triggered her Balance Breaker, Black Monarch, and was trading blows with a sword-wielding man. As for Asia and the others—
"Aaaaah!"
They were being swarmed by a pack of demonic beasts!
"Hermes' Boots!"
Twin pairs of golden wings unfurled at Tenra's feet, launching him toward the girls like a bullet.
A demonic sword flashed into his hand. With a single swing, a torrent of sword energy erupted, tearing through the monsters in a spray of blood and shadow—nothing left but shreds.
"Tenra-san!"
"Tenra-sama!"
"President!"
Asia, Kunou, and the kendo club girls lit up at his arrival, relief flooding their faces.
"Everyone alright?"
"We're fine, Tenra-san. Those things—they're Khaos Brigade's."
"That man—he's the one who kidnapped my mother!" Kunou spat, pointing angrily at Cao Cao.
Asia quickly summed up the chaos, and Kunou's eyes burned with fury.
"Don't worry, Kunou. I promised—I'll get your mother back."
He glanced around. "It's too dangerous here. Into my Sancta Diabolus, all of you."
With a gesture, Tenra swept Asia, Kunou, and the kendo girls into his sanctuary.
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH—
A dozen Khaos Brigade members—men and women—swooped in, surrounding Tenra.
"Red Dragon Emperor, you're ours!"
Tenra barely spared them a glance. "Sorry, but you're not even close to my level."
They were strong, sure—but not enough to warrant his attention.
He snapped his fingers. Katerea and a squad of female magicians materialized in a shimmer of magic.
"Take care of them."
No explanations needed. Tenra's command was law.
"Yes, Master."
Katerea's lips curled in a cold smile. She and the magicians surged forward, colliding with the enemy in a crackle of spells.
They had no idea where they were or what was happening. It didn't matter. Tools and servants only needed to obey.
ROAAAR!
Tenra strode deeper into the battlefield. More gigantic beasts lunged at him, but he sliced them apart with casual, effortless swings.
Instead of blood and guts, the monsters dissolved into wisps of black smoke. Clearly, they weren't real—just conjured shadows.
Scanning the field, Tenra soon spotted a short boy standing off to the side. At the boy's feet, a massive black shadow writhed, constantly spawning bizarre, nightmarish beasts that clawed their way free.
Dozens, then hundreds—the numbers kept climbing.
Not magic. This was Sacred Gear power. In Tenra's memory, only one artifact could mass-produce monsters like this:
"DXD: Infinite Loot System"Annihilation Maker—another Longinus.
And that mist that had dragged him into this dimension? That had to be the power of Dimension Lost—yet another Longinus.
True Longinus. Annihilation Maker. Dimension Lost. Three legendary God-Slaying artifacts, all at once—this was a legendary showdown.
BOOM!
Azazel crashed down beside Tenra, golden armor dented and scorched.
"Azazel, don't tell me you got knocked out that fast?"
Azazel groaned. "Brat, I just slipped for a second."
Tenra grinned at the battered Fallen Angel, eyeing the gaping black hole in Azazel's armor—a testament to the spear's terrifying power.
Hovering above, the young man called down, "I am Cao Cao, leader of the Hero Faction. I've heard much about you, Tenra Kamiyo."
"Likewise. So, why's Khaos Brigade attacking us out of nowhere?"
Cao Cao's eyes glinted. "We're running an experiment here in Kyoto. You'd all get in the way, so we decided to clear the field first."
"I see…"
Tenra nodded, then shot Azazel a look.
"Azazel, you keep our Hero Faction guest busy, alright?"
Azazel snorted. "You sure you don't want a piece of him? I know you're dying for that holy spear."
"Of course I want it. But grabbing it now isn't realistic. I'll settle for something I can actually take."
Azazel laughed, catching Tenra's drift. "Fine. I'll keep him occupied. Go nuts."
With a roar, Azazel launched himself back into the air, clashing with Cao Cao once more.
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM!
Neither side was holding back, the battle raging with brutal intensity. With Azazel keeping Cao Cao busy, Tenra turned his sights to the boy spawning monsters.
Every Sacred Gear was a delicacy to Tenra—each one boosted his strength, expanded his arsenal. Longinus were the rarest, most mouthwatering prizes of all. He refused to let any slip away.
The boy spotted Tenra approaching and unleashed his army of beasts.
SLASH SLASH SLASH—
Tenra carved through the monsters, but soon, creatures on par with High-Class Devils—and even Ultimate-Class Devils—emerged, hurling lightning and fire.
These monsters weren't alive. They felt no fear. No matter how many he destroyed, more surged forward, relentless and mindless.
ROAR ROAR ROAR!
BOOM BOOM BOOM!
The barrage of magical attacks finally buried Tenra in a storm of dust and flames.
But as the smoke cleared, Tenra strode out, untouched, his Twin Heavenly Dragon armor gleaming.
He raised a hand, firing laser-like energy waves—BOOM BOOM BOOM—vaporizing the nearest beasts.
More monsters rushed in, undaunted.
No wonder this was a Longinus—the power was endless.
But that only made Tenra more determined to claim it.
"Let's try that move…"
He murmured, and dozens of tiny crimson and silver dragons burst from the gems embedded in his armor. Each was palm-sized—a miniature Twin Dragon.
"Boost! Boost! Boost!"
"Divide! Divide! Divide!"
The little dragons circled Tenra. Crimson ones unleashed volleys of energy, blasting apart anything that dared approach. Silver ones formed a shifting shield, absorbing and neutralizing incoming attacks.
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!
Explosions rocked the battlefield. Any monster or Khaos Brigade member who ventured too close was instantly erased by the onslaught.
Before long, Tenra stood face-to-face with the short boy.
The boy stared coldly, and the shadow at his feet writhed. Suddenly, a beast larger than anything before tore free, roaring with a voice that shook the air.
ROAAAAAR!
The shockwave hammered Tenra, the monster's aura howling like a hurricane.
No question—this was a Demon King-class creature.
Tenra could tell at a glance: the boy himself wasn't Demon King-level. But with his Longinus, he'd managed to create a monster far beyond his own strength.
The cost was a mystery, but the power was terrifying. If left unchecked, this kid could someday churn out ten, a hundred, maybe more Demon Kings.
Tenra's eyes flashed cold. There was no way he'd let such a dangerous Longinus stay in enemy hands.
The beast opened its jaws, gathering a massive ball of light, and fired it straight at Tenra.
"Divide! Divide! Divide!"
Azure wings flared. Tenra unleashed Albion's power, slicing the attack down, absorbing it into nothing.
He shot forward, driving his fist into the monster's chest.
The beast swelled, magma-red veins bulging—then exploded with a thunderous boom.
Even Demon King-class monsters were nothing but one-punch fodder for Tenra now. If the boy could summon ten or a hundred at once, maybe Tenra would have to run—but thankfully, he wasn't there yet.
And he'd never get the chance.
