"What are you doing here, Kitsune Akane?", Zhaoshenya asked, her voice carrying a mix of annoyance and wariness.
Akane tilted her head, her golden eyes glinting with dark amusement.
"Shouldn't you be focusing on your work instead of trying to seduce another woman's husband, huh, Zhaoshenya?" Akane replied in a firm voice, each word dripping with accusation.
The woman's—Zhaoshenya's—eyes narrowed dangerously as she shook her head.
"Of course I should," she said, glaring back at Akane. "Though I don't know what actually happened, do we? What if your husband was the one who got lost over me? What if—"
She suddenly halted mid-sentence, her hand flying to her temple as if struck by a sudden headache, rubbing her forehead in confusion.
"Wait," she said slowly, her voice turning bewildered. "Did you just say... your husband? Did you... marry?"
Hearing those words, Akane's golden eyes flickered, and she instinctively turned to look back toward the distance.
