So, the main suspect is this rich kid, Lin Feng! Of course, "rich kid" is relative. Considering Tony Stark's fortune, worth several billion dollars, and the fact that his company would earn hundreds of millions of dollars just from this trip to Afghanistan, that kind of money is insignificant.
"Hack into his accounts, see how much he has?" Tony Stark said.
For Tony Stark, who had Jarvis, there were very few places in the world he couldn't hack into. Of course, he wouldn't abuse this power. Besides his conscience, he was also one of the biggest beneficiaries of the existing rules. If he started breaking them, things would get messy.
He couldn't treat everyone like they were stupid. Getting targeted by government agencies would be a pain.
"Record found. His parents deposited one million US dollars into his account just a few days ago!" Jarvis said.
"Then that's it, most likely, it's him!" Tony Stark stroked his goatee and said, "Do we have more information about him? For example, is he a bad kid? Does he have any connections with gangs or terrorists? Or are there any such people in his social circle?"
Tony Stark instinctively didn't want to believe in the so-called prophecy. He was more inclined to think that Lin Feng had heard about this from someone around him.
"All the information we have on him shows that he's a standard Chinese-American youth success story: intelligent, good grades, disciplined, ambitious. No contact with gangs. Before he lived independently, he was in an upscale villa area. We haven't found anyone in his network capable of planning a kidnapping," Jarvis reported.
"Intelligent, good grades, disciplined, ambitious… It fits our stereotypes of Chinese people perfectly!" Tony Stark murmured. "Doesn't sound like anything special, does it?"
"If there's anything unusual, it's that he was in a car accident a month ago and miraculously survived," Jarvis said. "Otherwise, his life has been quite ordinary."
"Car accident? Awakened ability?" The thought flashed through Tony Stark's mind, but he still found it absurd.
Especially the predictions. If it was just predicting his kidnapping in Afghanistan, it might have been from getting some advance information, like knowing the board's decision beforehand. But to predict he would shut down Stark Industries' weapons division?
That was a stretch!
The weapons division was the main cash cow for Stark Industries. Although there were other achievements, at least eighty percent of the stock price was supported by the weapons division.
This was the result of the Stark family's decades of work, starting with his old man.
Unless he'd lost his mind, how could he give it up?
And he also had to consider the opinions of the shareholders. Although his family held the majority stake, the combined power of the other shareholders couldn't be underestimated.
In America, founders being ousted by the board of directors wasn't unheard of; in fact, it was quite common.
So, he absolutely wouldn't do something so outrageous.
But, putting it aside, if he really disbanded the weapons department and abandoned the arms business, then Stark Industries' stock price might indeed plummet.
That was assuming he made such a ridiculous decision.
But why was this Lin Feng so certain, as if he knew for sure that he would make such a decision?
Or was it that during the kidnapping, he had promised something to someone? Was this the price of his rescue?
For a moment, Tony Stark's mind was a complete mess.
"Sir, in that case, why not ask him directly?" Jarvis asked at this moment.
"Because as soon as I have that thought, a sharp pain immediately shoots through my head. A terrifying will is warning me not to have any contact with this Lin Feng!" Tony Stark sighed.
Based on his personality, if he could have gone directly to the source, he would have done so immediately.
"Besides, what if he doesn't have any prophetic abilities, and just knows some information? Wouldn't that be alerting the enemy?" Tony Stark said.
The key was that he still felt that the warning from that will might be more serious than he imagined. He felt that if he really went to find him, he might die before he could even say a word.
He, a super-capitalist, one of the top few in this world, one of the masters of this world, didn't want to die because of this.
He could not know the truth of the matter, but he could not die; he hadn't had enough fun yet.
"Keep an eye on this Lin Feng!" Tony Stark said.
"Sir, this Lin Feng has started writing in his diary again!" Jarvis suddenly reminded him.
Sure enough, the diary on the desk began to fill with words out of thin air.
Tony Stark was a little speechless, looking outside at the bright daylight.
Who, in their right mind, keeps a diary?
Who, in their right mind, would write their innermost thoughts in a diary, not to mention, who's a good person and writes a diary during the day instead of at night?
After observing Lin Feng for the past few days, his diary writing had absolutely no pattern. Sometimes, he was woken up in the middle of the night by Jarvis to read his diary.
Other times, early in the morning, just after messing with a model, and having just fallen asleep, he would be woken up. It really made him grind his teeth in hatred.
Now it was even better; he was writing a diary in broad daylight.
[May 7th, Weather: Sunny Just passed a block in New York. It's said to be the street where the Hulk and Abomination fought a few years ago. The repair work hasn't been fully completed even now. The work efficiency of these Americans is really lacking. But considering the 9/11, their firefighters, fearlessly went to rescue the disaster area, and in the end, couldn't even get the compensation. The capitalist world is really cold and heartless!]
Seeing this, Tony Stark frowned. He felt like he had heard those names somewhere before.
"What is this Hulk, and this Abomination, anyway? A fight that can affect an entire street? Did they use heavy weapons?" Tony Stark couldn't help but say.
"Sir, there was indeed a related incident several years ago. Near the China Grand Theater, the streets suddenly suffered massive destruction. Stark Industries had several shops in that area that were also affected. Afterward, the government explained it as a terrorist attack involving self-detonation!" Jarvis replied promptly.
