Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 S-level ability, peak wave power!

"You have received your first Pokémon and gained 1 lottery chance."

"Lottery entrance below…"

After clicking the glowing dot, only two messages appeared before Ash: one informing him he had gained a lottery chance, and the other providing him with a lottery entrance.

Both prompts left Ash bewildered.

Lottery? What kind of lottery? Could this chat group even offer him prizes?

"Champion Ash: You should have seen that you have a lottery chance, right?"

"Ash: I saw it. It says I received one lottery chance for claiming my initial Pokémon. What kind of things does this lottery draw?"

"Champion Ash: It draws our abilities."

"Ash: Your abilities?"

"Champion Ash: Yes, our abilities. This lottery contains everything except physical items, such as my battle experience, Breeder Ash's breeding experience, Tactician Ash's tactical mindset, and so on…"

Champion Ash's words shocked Ash. Even if he didn't have a concrete understanding of such things, just the fact that he could acquire others' knowledge made this lottery an incredibly heaven-defying item.

"Champion Ash: Besides experience, the lottery also includes our abilities. We have many abilities within us; some worlds have developed them, others haven't. For example, Bo Dao Xiao Zhi has almost fully developed the Bo-do Power within him, and he can contend with legendary Pokémon purely with his own strength."

"Ash: Um… What are legendary Pokémon?"

"Champion Ash: …What exactly have you been learning normally? Do you know Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos?"

"Ash: No."

"Champion Ash: 6."

Ash's statement even left Champion Ash speechless. He had communicated with almost all the Ashes in the group, but he had never seen an Ash with such a starting point.

He basically knew nothing, couldn't do anything. It was one thing not to know Pikachu, but he didn't even know what legendary Pokémon were, or even the local Kanto legendary Pokémon Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos.

This was beyond a normal newbie!

"Bo Dao Yong Zhe Xiao Zhi: In short, you can think of legendary Pokémon as Pokémon with the most top-tier strength in the world."

"Ash: Really?… Can humans truly contend with Pokémon that possess the most top-tier strength?"

If it weren't for the fact that everyone in the group was himself, Ash would have suspected they were all playing a prank on him.

Humans wrestling with top-tier Pokémon? Was this really not some outlandish joke?

"Champion Ash: We don't need to lie to you here. In any case, go ahead and draw first. See what your first draw can get you."

"Champion Ash: The chat group's lottery categorizes our abilities into S, A, B, C, D, and E, from highest to lowest. The probability of drawing an S-rank is estimated to be less than one ten-thousandth. Among us, the average person has drawn at least a hundred times, but only one or two people have drawn an S-rank ability."

Unlike the new Ash, all the Ashes in the group were 'finished accounts' upon joining. Basically, after joining, they could immediately obtain over fifty lottery chances.

However, the things they drew were mostly of little use to them.

After all, in their respective worlds, they were all at the peak of their fields. Ordinary abilities and experiences were mostly useless to them.

"Ash: The probability is that low? By the way, who are those one or two people who drew S-rank abilities?"

"Breeder Xiao Zhi: That would be me, but this rotten chat group might as well not have given it to me! What use is it for a Breeder like me to draw all the battle experience of a Tactician Master?! I was so annoyed when I drew it!"

Breeder Ash got angry just thinking about the situation back then. He finally drew an S-rank, but it had absolutely no relation to his field!

However, it must be said that Breeder Ash found the tactical knowledge within those experiences quite novel, and he even tried battling Johto Champion Lance. As a result, Lance was so disgusted by him that he declared he would never battle Breeder Ash again, and anyone else who wanted to could!

Experience was one aspect; another was the transmission of Tactician Ash's meticulous observation skills, prediction abilities, and thought processes during battle. This was why this ability was valued at S-rank.

If this ability were given to a Trainer who couldn't battle at all, they would immediately become a Trainer with battle experience, eyesight, and abilities comparable to a top Champion!

Unfortunately, this ability was given to a Breeder…

"Tactician Ash: Hey! What's wrong with my ability? Ask the Champion, he can't even get my ability! Be content with drawing my ability!"

The difference between Champion Ash and Tactician Ash was that the former had stronger raw power, with generally high-level Pokémon, while the latter focused on overcoming the strong with the weak, employing an endless stream of dirty tactics.

When Champion Ash and Tactician Ash exchanged notes, Champion Ash was astonished! How could there be such underhanded tactics in the world?

Putting other things aside, Toxic, Toxic Spikes, plus a tank Pokémon that continuously buffs its defense to stall out the opponent—is that a battle strategy a human could even conceive?

And then there were things like Substitute + Toxic, Serene Grace Chansey, and so on…

Even if it were Champion Ash, he wouldn't want to battle Tactician Ash. That wasn't a battle; it was pure torment!

Whether he could win or not was beside the point; the annoyance factor was absolutely maximized.

"Champion Ash: Anyway, just go draw first. There should be a lottery entrance in the notifications; just go in and draw."

Hearing this, Ash put aside his desire to chat for now, opened the notification page, and then entered through the lottery entrance.

After clicking the lottery entrance, a giant spinning wheel appeared before Ash.

On it were six sections, which were the six ability ranks Champion Ash had mentioned.

The S-rank section was so small it was almost invisible, just as Champion Ash had said, occupying roughly one ten-thousandth of the space.

It was a good thing the wheel was large enough; otherwise, one would need a microscope, not a magnifying glass, to see it.

"No wonder the probability is only one ten-thousandth. Such a tiny section, is it really meant for people to hit?" Ash muttered, his mind already starting to spin the wheel.

The wheel spun dizzily before Ash, making it impossible to see where it was going. Ash could only randomly pause it.

The wheel's speed slowed, gradually coming to a stop after a few seconds. The tiny pointer slowly moved to that almost invisible area.

The position of the area and the width of the pointer almost perfectly overlapped, finally coming to a steady stop.

Ash froze, then instinctively rubbed his eyes, though as a consciousness, he couldn't actually rub his eyes.

But this made him realize that it wasn't an illusion; the pointer had truly landed on the S-rank area.

Immediately after, the disc disappeared before Ash, replaced by a prompt box.

"Congratulations! You have drawn the S-rank ability: Bo-do Power. The Bo-do Power within your body has been developed to S-rank status. Various methods for using Bo-do Power have been instilled into your mind and can be accessed at will."
