Hazel's POV
I stood in the doorway, watching as Colton disappeared into the night. I felt a wave of guilt and regret wash over me. I had said the words that had hurt him, and I couldn't take them back. I had seen the pain in his eyes, and I knew that I had caused it.
I had let my fear and confusion get the better of me, and I had betrayed the one person who had been there for me through it all.
But I knew that I had to put that aside, for now. I had come here to complete my mission, and I couldn't do that until I had found a way to stop Liam. I took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. I pushed my emotions to the back of my mind, focusing on the task at hand.
I had a job to do, and I was determined to do it. I turned away from the courtyard, and I made my way back to my chambers. I had a plan to form, and I couldn't afford to let my emotions get in the way. I would find a way to deal with them later, but for now, I had to focus on the task at hand.
