"From more than 10 chickens, now I only have you."
"Will I even get through this week without having to sell you?"
Kyson said as he raised his head and looked up at the stunning crack in the sky.
Kyson is just a common man who owns a few chickens in the rural area of Molo City.
His livelihood comes from selling chicken eggs and sometimes, even the chicken itself.
Things were going well for him and he didn't have much worries in his life as a 22 year old man who didn't attend college.
However, this all changed a few weeks ago.
From out of nowhere, a sound similar to an egg cracking resounded all around the world.
Then up in the sky, people noticed a visible crack had appeared.
Slow, but with a sense of inevitability, the crack grew as the sound became louder in the ears of everyone.
When the crack finally grew to a certain size, something incredible appeared in the eye of all people on Earth.
Inside the space crack, an entirely different world with people in it became visible to all.
However, that world's inhabitants aren't just humans.
From the space rift, everyone also saw monsters of different appearance lurking in every corner of that world.
Monsters that you can only see in fantasy stories such as slimes, goblins, orcs, ogres, and other more were seen by everyone.
There's even a dragon resting in a volcano!
All of that was seen by all inhabitants of Earth.
Some felt fear while some felt excitement facing these new changes happening in the world.
Since that day, the tear in the sky remained there until now.
At the same time, some strange things also started occurring all around the world.
Plants and animals mutated, some gained consciousness and great power, becoming rulers of their kind.
Undiscovered lands were suddenly found all around the world. Unknown mountains, lakes, and oceans that weren't there before appeared from out of nowhere as if the world itself is expanding.
Strange phenomenons like the sky all around the globe turning rainbow at the same time, sounds of bells ringing in the sky seven times, and a floating sea and islands are just some of the things that happened in the past few weeks.
As all of these are happening in the world, the humans that inhabit Earth also started discovering changes in their bodies.
People started awakening powers from time to time just like the ones in novels and movies.
Fire control, telekinesis, super strength, mind reading, stealth, form manipulation, etc.
All of those people who gained those powers started calling themselves "awakeners" and showed their powers through various ways.
Some good and some bad.
Thankfully, the government responded fast and passed various policies and handled everything with the awakeners in the government.
Anyway, it's been a real chaos these past few weeks because of that.

"An unawakened individual like me will probably end up as cannon fodder if this goes on."
Just as there are awakeners, there are also those who are unfortunate and didn't gain any powers during this time.

Sighing, Kyson turned around to go back to his house and continue resting.
