Chapter 265 – Obito Implants the Rinnegan
Yusuke supported Konan's body, then calmly used his own power to heal every wound and injury she had suffered. Warm chakra flowed steadily from him, mending torn flesh and exhausted muscles until not a single trace of damage remained.
The moment Yusuke appeared, Eros immediately flew over and landed on his shoulder.
"You did really well this time, Eros," Yusuke said, gently stroking the creature's head.
"By the way, from now on, Eros will be staying with you," Yusuke continued as he looked at Konan.
"Wasn't that the gift you gave me back then?" Konan asked, staring at him with a faintly annoyed expression.
"That's right. You gave it to me. Which means it belongs to me now," Yusuke replied with a smile. "And now I'm giving it to you. So, will you accept it or not?"
"…Alright. Thank you," Konan answered softly.
She understood what Yusuke meant. Eros was extremely compatible with her ninjutsu, and in a critical moment, it could protect her.
"By the way, you were already here earlier, weren't you?" Konan asked as she looked at Yusuke.
"Yes," Yusuke replied honestly, without trying to hide it.
"Then how did Madara survive? Was my information wrong?" Konan asked.
"That was Izanagi, one of the ultimate dōjutsu of the Sharingan," Yusuke said.
"When this technique is activated, the user's condition is recorded by the Sharingan. For the duration of the technique—which varies from person to person—any damage the user takes, even death itself, can be physically reverted back to the state recorded by the Sharingan. However, the chakra spent is not restored. The price is that the eye used for Izanagi permanently loses its sight."
"So the Uchiha clan really can't be underestimated… The Sharingan is truly terrifying," Konan said, her voice filled with a mix of awe and caution.
"Of course. The Sharingan's dōjutsu should never be taken lightly," Yusuke replied casually.
After explaining everything, Yusuke planned to take Konan back to his residence.
Seeing Kurenai and Rin still chatting, his sudden appearances had already become something Kurenai was used to.
"Why are you back so quickly?" Yuhi Kurenai asked.
"This is Konan. Kurenai, please help me look after her," Yusuke said.
"You're leaving again? You just got back, honestly. At this point, I don't even know who the real Hokage is anymore—you or Tsunade-nee," Kurenai complained.
"I'm going to pick up Tsunade first. The Fourth Great Ninja War is about to begin, so I want to check the situation. You two can relax and chat," Yusuke said.
"You can ask Konan directly if you have questions," he added.
Without saying anything else, Yusuke turned around and vanished right in front of them.
"Konan-nee, could you explain the Fourth Great Ninja War?" Kurenai asked.
Because of her pregnancy, Kurenai didn't fully understand the current state of the ninja world. Rin was even more out of the loop—after living in the mountains for so many years, she barely knew anything about what was happening outside.
Besides, news of the Fourth Great Ninja War hadn't spread widely yet. Seeing how friendly and completely unguarded Kurenai and Rin were toward her made Konan feel unexpectedly comfortable.
"It seems the true leader of the Akatsuki—the one who claims to be Uchiha Madara—is willing to start a war without hesitation for the sake of the Eight-Tails and Nine-Tails," Konan said.
"Uchiha Madara? Wasn't he already dead? And didn't the Akatsuki already capture the Eight-Tails?" Kurenai asked curiously.
"I'm not completely sure. Although I feel that he isn't the real Uchiha Madara, I can't confirm whether his words are true. As for the Eight-Tails, it wasn't successfully captured. What Uchiha Sasuke brought back at the time was only a clone," Konan explained.
"Uchiha Madara really is dead. That Madara is a fake," Rin said at that moment.
"How do you know that, Rin? And do you know who the fake Madara is?" Kurenai asked in shock.
Rin had just said that she'd lived in the mountains for years without knowing anything about the outside world.
"I can't say for sure either. Yusuke once told me that person is…" Rin paused, clearly hesitating.
In truth, she herself had a hard time accepting that the once innocent and cheerful Obito could turn into someone like that—and that it all happened because of her.
"Who is it?" Kurenai asked.
"Yusuke said that person is Obito," Rin finally revealed the truth.
Konan wasn't too surprised by this. She had suspected from the beginning that the so-called 'Uchiha Madara' was a fake. Kurenai, however, was completely stunned.
She never imagined that the boy who was always at the bottom back then would grow into someone who forced all the ninja villages to unite against him.
"Wait… you're saying Yusuke has known all of this for a long time?" Kurenai asked, shocked once more.
"No wonder. His attitude back then was so strange," Kurenai thought.
She recalled the day Obito was declared dead. Yusuke's expression at the time looked as if he already knew what was going to happen.
"What's wrong, Kurenai?"
"It's nothing. If you didn't die, and Obito didn't die either, then it makes sense that Yusuke knew everything from the very beginning," Kurenai analyzed calmly.
"Yeah… but what exactly is Yusuke's goal?" Rin asked.
"I don't know that either. But thinking about it now, Obito Uchiha's body was never found," Kurenai said.
"If Kakashi knew, he'd definitely be overwhelmed with emotion. After all… that eye… the eye Kakashi has belongs to Obito," Rin said quietly.

"Konan-nee, what exactly is their goal in capturing the Tailed Beasts?" Rin asked as she looked at Konan.
Konan then explained the Rinnegan and the Ten-Tails to both of them.
"The Rinnegan? Nagato had it too, right? I never thought the Rinnegan could appear in two pairs," Kurenai said in surprise.
"Two pairs?" Konan looked at Kurenai in confusion.
"Yes. Yusuke's eyes are also Rinnegan."
"Aren't his eyes called the Six Eyes—Azure Blue Eyes (Rokugan)?" Konan recalled those incredibly captivating eyes and asked in disbelief.
"That's their normal form. Even though they have functions similar to the Byakugan, their appearance is too striking, so Tsunade-nee even issued a strict order that he must keep them covered at all times. Actually, Yusuke's eyes can transform into golden Rinnegan," Kurenai explained.
Hearing this, Konan nodded. She also felt that eyes like that were better kept hidden.
Meanwhile, Rin, who hadn't known anything about Yusuke's eyes until now, felt curious. But with her personality, as long as Yusuke didn't explain it himself, she wouldn't ask.
"Golden? Aren't Rinnegan supposed to be purple?" Konan asked, her face full of confusion.

"I found it. Obit—"
"Call me Uchiha Madara," Obito interrupted, his gaze icy as he stared at White Zetsu.
"Yes, Madara-sama," White Zetsu replied.
Obito snorted coldly. His body began to distort, then vanished from where he stood.
"Let's begin," Obito said as he looked at White Zetsu.
White Zetsu didn't say much and immediately began implanting the Rinnegan into Obito's body. Not long after, Obito opened his eye.
"The power of this eye… incredible. So this is the Rinnegan," Obito said as he looked at White Zetsu.
White Zetsu felt a strong sense of unease. But Obito gave him no chance at all. In an instant, White Zetsu was killed.
"So this is as far as my body can go. Looks like I can only use one eye," Obito said. "But one eye is more than enough."
Obito's body distorted once again, then disappeared into the Kamui dimension.
