Chapter 203 – Konoha's Advisor?
"He's really… handsome. How can someone that cool even exist in this world? Those eyes… they're mesmerizing."
Mei Terumi murmured absentmindedly, staring into the distance, her expression soft and enchanted.
The Kirigakure shinobi surrounding her exchanged awkward glances.
Seriously, Mizukage-sama? That's what you're focusing on right now? Isn't the real problem… that island?
"Lady Mizukage, the island… it's flying!" Ao shouted, breaking her trance.
Though slightly annoyed at the interruption, Mei turned her gaze toward the horizon—only to freeze in disbelief. The entire island was really floating in the sky. So when that man said, 'this island is mine,' he hadn't been joking after all.
"Damn it… just how powerful is that man? Why doesn't Kirigakure have someone like him…" Mei muttered in frustration, her lips curling slightly.
"What should we do now, Lady Mizukage?" Ao asked, his face serious.
"The Three-Tails is already in our hands. Forget the island. Spread the order—this incident must not be made public. Not a word to the elders," she commanded firmly.
"Yes, Lady Mizukage!"
"Understood!"
---
Meanwhile, Hatake Yusuke lay lazily on the thick branch of a giant tree atop the now-floating island, his hands resting behind his head as he gazed up at the clear blue sky.
"I wonder if Akatsuki managed to capture the Three-Tails or not. Uchiha… I really want to fight you someday."
"—System?"
[I'm here, Host.]
"Do you think… there might be other worlds out there? This one's starting to feel a little too boring."
[There are.]
"Really? Then can you send me there?" Yusuke asked, his eyes gleaming with curiosity.
[Negative. The system's duty is only to provide power to you, Host. Everything else depends on your own effort. When your strength reaches a certain threshold and you manage to pierce the dimensional barrier, only then will you be able to cross worlds.]
"Oh? Then… can people from those other worlds come here, into the Naruto world?"
[Impossible. You are unique because you possess the system's aid. Others cannot, for their power systems are incompatible with this world. The Laws of the Universe would erase their existence instantly.]
"What if someone transcends those laws?"
[Impossible. They are all creations of the law itself. One cannot surpass what defines their very existence.]
Yusuke chuckled softly, closing his eyes once more.
"The Floating-Floating Fruit really is incredible… but its speed is just too slow."
In truth, the fruit's movement speed was quite fast. It only felt slow because Yusuke often used high-level Space-Time Ninjutsu and the Glint-Glint Fruit to teleport almost instantly.
"Ah, forget it. Let's just go back." He sighed.
"Super Mode: Air Portal—activate."
In an instant, a colossal gate materialized in midair—large enough for the island itself to pass through. Slowly, the entire landmass drifted forward and entered the glowing rift. When they emerged, they were floating high above the skies of Konohagakure.
---
"Lord Hokage! There's… there's an island floating above Konoha!"
An Anbu operative burst into the office, his voice filled with disbelief.
"It's fine. You may leave," Tsunade replied calmly, her tone betraying no surprise.
"I'll go take a look myself. Take care of Kurenai for now," she added, leaping out the window in one swift motion.
"Moonwalk."
With the Air Step technique, Tsunade shot upward into the sky.
Sensing her chakra presence, Yusuke shifted locations in an instant—appearing right before the Fifth Hokage as she landed on the island.
"So, what do you think of my island?" he asked casually.
"Interesting. But… isn't it a bit too big to hover over the village?" Tsunade crossed her arms.
"There's everything you could ever need up here. So why not?" Yusuke grinned.
"Then at least raise it higher. A floating island this close to Konoha could cause panic."
Yusuke nodded and gently lifted the entire island upward until it was hidden among the clouds—far beyond ordinary sight.
"There. Done. But even if some ninja can use Moonwalk, not everyone can reach this altitude easily," Tsunade commented, frowning.
"Relax. I've got a solution."
"Seriously?!" Her eyes lit up in excitement.
"Air Portal. I can construct a permanent one. That way, anyone can come and go as they please."
"You can really do that?"
"This is child's play." Yusuke flicked his finger lightly against Tsunade's forehead, smirking.
"Then hurry up already!" Tsunade said eagerly, her golden eyes sparkling.
With an island fortress like this, she could finally establish a hidden aerial base for Konoha—strategic, secure, and untouchable.
"Awaken—Construction: Air Portal."
A massive, shimmering gateway appeared before Yusuke, its surface glowing with intricate chakra patterns.
"I'll place this gate near the Hokage Tower. It's already set to recognize your chakra signature. From now on, you can manage who's allowed to enter."
"This is amazing! I love you!" Tsunade exclaimed and immediately threw her arms around him in pure joy.
"Hahaha, you're acting like a child," Yusuke chuckled, gently patting her soft blonde hair.
"Hmph! So what? It's not like I'll ever get old again anyway," she replied playfully.
Yusuke laughed softly before planting a gentle kiss on her forehead.
Together, they descended back to the village, hand in hand. Tsunade wasted no time issuing orders—construction of Konoha's secret aerial base would begin immediately.
---
Moments later, the Konoha Elders arrived.
"Lady Hokage, that… thing floating in the sky—what is it exactly?" Koharu Utatane demanded.
"Have you gone senile already? It's an island," Tsunade shot back sharply. She'd long grown tired of these old relics meddling in her affairs.
"Tsunade, what's the meaning of this?" Hiruzen Sarutobi asked, his tone serious. He could already tell Yusuke was behind it, though he didn't yet understand his intentions.
Out of respect for her mentor, Tsunade explained the plan to use the island as Konoha's aerial training base.
"Lady Hokage, I believe we should reconsider. A resource of this scale… just for secret training? Isn't that wasteful?" Homura Mitokado said cautiously, his eyes betraying greed.
"I think this island would make a fine new headquarters for Root," Danzo added, crossing his arms.
"Indeed, Lady Hokage. In times of war, Konoha's best forces will be deployed to the front lines. That would leave our rear defenses weakened. Selling part of the island to fund the nation could be a wise decision," Koharu chimed in sweetly—but her intent was clear.
"That's not happening. I'm the Hokage. And this island belongs to me," Tsunade declared firmly.
"But Tsunade-hime, as Hokage, shouldn't you contribute to the village?" Koharu pressed, voice dripping with false concern.
"Hmph! Then let's start with you three. I've reviewed your families' daily expenses. Donating two-thirds of your personal wealth for the project shouldn't be too much to ask," Tsunade said with a cold smirk.
"This is outrageous, Tsunade-hime! We—"
"What? You want her to contribute, but you're unwilling to do the same?"
A teasing voice suddenly echoed from behind them…
