Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Nothing More to Say! Hades Was Simply Bad at Playing!

The subordinate god contract dissipated.

Sora also sensed that perfect control over Persephone.

With a hint of curiosity, Sora asked interestingly: "Persephone, given your personality, why did you sign the contract?"

"Because I'm afraid of death."

Persephone made no attempt to hide this, nor did she feel any shame about it.

"Afraid of death?"

Sora was stunned hearing this answer.

Persephone nodded: "When Hades took me, even if I sealed myself, there was no danger to my life. Hades wouldn't do anything to me."

"But."

"You wouldn't show any mercy. Given your personality, you absolutely wouldn't hesitate."

"That's not wrong."

Sora nodded in agreement.

Indeed.

He had already considered his arrangements for Persephone. Becoming his subordinate god would naturally be good for everyone.

Disagree?

Then!

What he'd need to consider would be having his fun first. As long as she disagreed, he absolutely wouldn't let Persephone live.

"So I'm also very afraid of death. Even gods fear death equally."

Persephone spoke very casually, not feeling ashamed about this at all.

"That's quite a reasonable explanation."

Sora very much agreed with this reasoning, and also pondered: "Speaking of which, only you three are left in the entire Underworld. And! I'm very curious."

"Athena actually killed Hades?"

"Without the cycle of life and death."

"Won't the world have problems?"

Sora had always been puzzled about this point.

It shouldn't be like this!

If Athena had sealed Hades, Sora would find that normal and acceptable.

But.

If Athena directly killed Hades, wouldn't that disrupt the entire world's cycle of life and death?

"It won't."

Ker explained: "Your Majesty, you don't have a deeper understanding of the Greek pantheon."

"Actually."

"The Underworld was created by Hades in a dimensional world that had just been conceived."

"Although it manages the cycle of life and death, this is because of Hades' authority."

"Essentially speaking."

"It has no great relationship with the Underworld itself."

"And."

"With Hades' death, this authority will return to the Underworld, and won't affect the world's cycle of life and death."

Sora nodded in understanding.

No wonder.

Athena struck without any hesitation. If it would truly affect the world.

Athena would only seal Hades.

Or rather.

Other gods wouldn't allow Athena to kill Hades and disrupt the cycle of life and death. For any god, this wouldn't be good news or a good thing.

"Speaking of which."

Sora looked at Ker and continued asking: "Ker, you should be similar to the Dream Gods, all plural gods, right?"

Plural gods!

Large numbers of gods controlling the same law.

For example.

The three thousand Dream Gods all controlled the law of dreams. They were all Dream Gods.

And Ker, this Goddess of Fate, should also be a plural god.

"Yes."

Ker explained: "Myself, Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos - all four of us are Goddesses of Fate."

"Children of Erebus and Nyx."

Sora tapped the armrest of his divine throne, thoughtfully saying: "The Underworld Gods under Hades - Hypnos, Thanatos, you Ker, or the Dream Gods - are all children of that primordial god, Nyx."

"Yes."

Ker didn't deny it, continuing: "However, in the Age of Myth, in that divine war between the three God Kings."

"Hades was defeated."

"Other Underworld Gods were either killed, sealed, or captured."

"Among them."

"Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos."

"Were captured by Zeus."

"Zeus controlled them with divine power. They're responsible for weaving fate, and also guard the deepest abyss of the Underworld, responsible for watching over the twelve Titan Gods."

Ker spoke with a touch of emotion: "The divine war of the three God Kings in the Age of Myth ended with Zeus's victory. Poseidon lost his divine body, and although Hades preserved much, ultimately..."

"His subordinate forces were almost completely lost."

"This is also why."

"In the Holy War, Hades was no match for Athena."

"Otherwise..."

"With the Underworld at its peak..."

Sora raised his hand to stop her: "Enough, stop saying nice things. Even with the Underworld's current configuration, as long as the operation was slightly better, it would be impossible to be bullied by Athena for so many years. Hades was simply bad at playing."

"Hypnos, Thanatos, three thousand Dream Gods, plus you."

"The entire Underworld."

"Aren't these all gods? Even if they descended in human form, paired with well-trained Underworld Warriors, would they be defeated by Sanctuary repeatedly?"

Sora's complaints left Ker in silence.

She didn't know how to refute this.

Because.

This was indeed fact.

This was something that couldn't be refuted.

"As for the problems on the Olympian side, that's even more of a joke."

"As I understand it."

"Zeus has already left, specifically to do what, no one knows."

"Then!"

"What do you think the core issue really is?"

Sora continued: "Apollo? I don't deny that Apollo sitting on the God King throne is very strong, but if you're saying that Apollo, this newly-appointed God King, is so much stronger than Hades and can completely manipulate the Holy War, that seems quite impossible, doesn't it?"

"..."

Ker fell completely silent.

Persephone watched this scene with great interest.

No matter what, she was captured by Hades, so hearing her new master complain about Hades naturally made her quite happy.

At this time.

Pandora stepped forward and spoke softly: "Your Majesty, now that you are the Lord of the Underworld, will you continue to compete for authority over the earth?"
