Tap tap tap…Dad knocked on the door.
"Haoyu, tomorrow we leave at 7:30 a.m.""Okay. Do I need to bring anything?"
"Just some water. The weather will be hot."
"Got it."
Dad left and closed the door gently.Hao lay back on his bed.It felt strange…so long since the last time he went fishing with his dad.
But somehow,he felt like he forgot something.Still, he smiled —and fell asleep with that smile.
Morning light touched the window.Dad's voice came again.
"Wake up, time to go."
Hao rubbed his eyes."Are we leaving now?"
"Not yet. Eat first.There's probably nothing to eat over there."
Hao hurried to wash up.When he sat down at the table,breakfast was already ready.Mom was smiling —she always woke up early for this.
"Big brother's not coming?" Hao asked.
Mom said,"No. We'll drop you and Dad at the pond.Your brother and sister will go shopping with me."
"Why…?" Hao asked softly.
Mom didn't answer, just smiled."Eat up. It's almost time to go."
