"Miss Han!"
Han Ruochen jolted awake. She smiled sheepishly at Principal Duan and blinked her starry eyes at him before asking, "Why did you call me here, Principal Duan? I am sorry for dozing off a little; I was awake all night to prepare the lesson plan."
When Principal Duan heard her words, his eyes softened a little. Though Han Ruochen was gullible and a bit naive, she was a good teacher. With her taking care of the students, he had never worried about the students failing. He sighed and then said to Han Ruochen, "Miss Han, I know that you have some troubles at home, but you shouldn't make rash decisions. How can you allow your sister to take over your job when she is neither skilled nor proficient in English? How will she teach the students when she herself is not apt in it?"
Upon hearing Principal Duan's words, Han Ruochen's eyes started to fill with tears. In her past life, Principal Duan had said the same words to her. He was older and much wiser than her; he could see through Han Ziyan and Yang Jianming's scheme much more easily and quickly than she had.
Thus, he had tried to stop her. He was just short of telling her that the two beasts were trying to scam her. But Han Ruochen was like a fool in love; she believed whatever lies that Yang Jianming told her and didn't even listen to a word of sense that Principal Duan was telling her.
Oh, how she regretted it.
But never mind; she finally had another chance to relive her life and correct the wrongs that she had made in her last life.
Putting on a confused expression, she turned her head to one side and said to Principal Duan, "I am sorry… but, Principal Duan, who told you that I was going to give my job to my sister? When did I say such a thing?"
Han Ruochen knew that it was her mother who had called Principal Duan earlier in the morning and told him to help her with the resignation and other formalities. At the same time, she even asked the man to arrange for Han Ziyan to start working as soon as possible. This was to secure Han Ziyan's position and job in case Han Ruochen started to regret it.
The signs were all in front of her, and Han Ruochen was foolish enough not to see through them. Now that she was able to think everything through, she wished she could slap herself in the face left and right.
"You didn't agree?" Principal Duan asked. His voice cracked due to the anger that he was feeling at the moment, and when he saw Han Ruochen shake her head, he turned even angrier. Damn, what was Mother Han thinking? Was this worth it? She was actually harming her own daughter for the sake of the daughter of her late sister?
Even if she felt sorry about what happened to Han Ziyan, she couldn't ruin her daughter like this!
If Han Ruochen could hear Principal Duan's thought, she would have told the man that her mother could certainly do that. After all, Han Ziyan was her precious daughter. Even the five Han siblings could not amount to a single broken nail of Han Ziyan.
If not, why would her mother not blink an eye when she saw Han Ruochen and her siblings die one after another?
Principal Duan pursed his lips and explained the entire situation to Han Ruochen, "It's your mother. As an outsider, I cannot say much, but you should have a good talk with Madam Han. How can she hand your job to Han Ziyan without confirming it with you?"
Han Ruochen opened her mouth as if she were really shocked by the news. She then shook her head and said heavily, "I really—I really have no words. Though my mother did say that I should give my job to Ziyan, I never agreed. I even told her that this job was worth two thousand yuan and if I wanted to sell it, I could earn decent capital for myself. Not to mention, Han Ziyan truly has no capability to take over this job."
She paused and added, "And even if I wanted to hand this job to someone, I would have handed it to Teacher Yun. She is much more capable and on par with my skills. It is better to hand her the job rather than someone like Han Ziyan."
Han Ruochen deliberately said these words, as she knew that Teacher Yun was right outside.
In her last life, she didn't know that Yun Xiaoxiao was related to a military family and that her background was rather powerful. But Han Ziyan did.
She deliberately caused trouble and friction between Yun Xiaoxiao and her. While she provoked Han Ruochen to fight and quibble with Yun Xiaoxiao, she pleaded and apologized to Yun Xiaoxiao behind her back.
In fact, after she got this job, Han Ziyan didn't last in the position for more than three months. After that, she sold this job to Yun Xiaoxiao for two thousand yuan and even formed a good relationship with her.
How many times did Yun Xiaoxiao help Han Ziyan in her past life due to this one favour? It was because of this relationship that the Yang family looked at Han Ziyan even more favorably. On what grounds? This was her job, one that she had worked hard for and won after competing for it fair and square.
When Principal Duan heard her words, he heaved a sigh of relief. It was a good thing that Han Ruochen could see through things so clearly. It smoothed his burden.
He nodded and said to Han Ruochen, "You are indeed correct. This is your job, Miss Han. One that you worked hard for; please don't fall for the sweet words of anyone and hand it over to someone who is not worthy. You might not even realise that it's a trap."
