Chapter 37 - 37

Clint Barton's inference was extremely bold, and every member of S.H.I.E.L.D. was impressed by Hydra, the ancient and evil organization.

"Barton, why do you say that?" Phil Coulson couldn't help but ask, "Is it just based on the inference that a Hydra scientist might still be alive?"

"The captain might still be alive, and the Hydra scientist might still be alive," Clint Barton said. "So I think we can no longer believe the conclusion that Hydra has been completely destroyed. Hydra's uprooting might be just like that scientist, an illusion we saw. Of course, I'm saying this for more than just this reason."

"Any other reason?" Phil Coulson pricked up his ears.

"Last time, one of the questions revealed a shocking future," Clint Barton said slowly. "Director Fury will be assassinated by his former boss, Alexander Pierce, the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D."

"What?" Phil Coulson, who hadn't heard of this before, was shocked. "How is this possible? Why would Alexander Pierce want to assassinate Director Fury?"

"This matter is under investigation, but there is no clue yet." Clint Barton said, "I couldn't figure it out before, but when Hydra was mentioned, a light bulb went off in my head. If Alexander Pierce is a Hydra man, then it's not surprising that he assassinated Director Fury."

"Barton, you're going too far by linking Alexander Pierce to Hydra with just one assassination." Phil Coulson still couldn't accept this inference.

"Coulson, if you knew something else, you might not say that," said Clint Barton.

"What's up?"

"When Alexander Pierce assassinated Commissioner Fury, he sent in super soldiers!"

"What? Super Soldier!"

"That's right, a super soldier! A super soldier like the captain!" Clint Barton paused and added, "And judging by the time the super soldier was active, he was most likely from World War II."

"Hydra stole the serum from a super soldier from World War II, and this super soldier worked for Alexander Pierce..." Phil Coulson muttered to himself. Indeed, with this information, it seemed that Alexander Pierce could really be connected to Hydra.

Although it's a bit far-fetched, at least it makes sense logically.

"I have to remind Commander Fury that Hydra may still be around," Phil Coulson finally said.

"..." Li Cheng was really impressed when he saw this scene. Was Hydra exposed like this?

Just a mention of Arnim Zola's name?

The Winter Soldier was indeed created by Arnim Zola, but Li Cheng knew this because he had watched the movie, looked up information, and had a God's perspective.

Clint Barton, a character in the play, didn't know this, but he just deduced it.

All I can say is that Clint Barton was able to become the first Avengers as an ordinary person, and his abilities are indeed not to be underestimated.

"Stark, do you think Arnim Zola could have built the Ark Reactor if he were still alive?" Clint Barton asked Tony Stark.

"In a sense, Arnim Zola is a rare genius." Tony Stark thought for a moment and shook his head. "But the Ark Reactor is a groundbreaking invention. Even if he were alive today, he wouldn't be able to build it."

"So you're ruling out Arnim Zola?" Clint Barton said.

"No, it has not been ruled out."

"You just said he couldn't make it."

"Of course he doesn't have that ability, but if it's stealing, then it's hard to say." Tony Stark said, "The Ark reactor wasn't built from scratch by me.

"The blueprints were left by my father. Arnim Zola and my father were from the same era and belonged to opposing factions. It was common for both sides to steal each other's technology. If Arnim Zola had stolen my father's blueprints back then, it's still possible for him to build the Ark Reactor today."

"This option can't be ruled out, so what about A?" Thor, who had been unable to interrupt, finally had a chance to speak. "There are two options, and there's no correct answer."

"This guy is just like Stephen Strange. I've never heard of him." Tony Stark spread his hands in frustration. He looked at Phil Coulson and Clint Barton. "What about you? You're from S.H.I.E.L.D., do you know this Ivan Vanko?"

"Sorry Stark, I'm in operations, not intelligence," Clint Barton said, implying that he didn't know this person.

"I remember..." said Phil Coulson.

"Do you know this person?" Tony Stark asked hurriedly.

"I don't know, but if this Ivan Vanko is related to that person, then he is very likely the answer." said Phil Coulson.

"Coulson!" Clint Barton yelled. "When did you start talking so much? Who the hell is this guy?"

"I haven't heard of Ivan Vanko, but I have heard of another Vanko." Phil Coulson said a name, "Anton Vanko."

"Anton Vanko?" This name is still very unfamiliar to everyone.

"Stark, it seems your father didn't tell you everything about the Ark reactor."

"My father?" Tony Stark was stunned. "Is this matter related to my father?"

"You could say that," Phil Coulson said. "Did you know your father wasn't the only one with the Ark reactor blueprints?"

"How is this possible?" Tony Stark couldn't believe it at all. "The Ark Response is my father's life's work, and he left it to me alone!"

"Don't worry, Stark. Listen to me," Phil Coulson said. "Your father didn't complete the Ark Reactor independently. He worked with a man named Anton Vanko."

"Never heard of this person."

"Anton Vanko was a Soviet physicist who developed the Ark Reactor with your father, but he saw it as a way to make a fortune. When your father found out, he exiled him to Siberia..."

"Wait! My father is just a scientist. How could he do something like exile people?"

"Stark, don't worry about these details." Phil Coulson shrugged. "The country is behind this. What Anton Vanko wanted to do back then would have endangered national security. Otherwise, they wouldn't have expelled such an outstanding scientist like him."
