Ivy's POV
I continued devouring the food brought to me, and only after finishing the third cart did I finally feel the urgent need to shift subside. Looking up with amazement, I noticed the doctor was still tending to Grant's wound, but something had changed—a tension had eased from the room. A faint touch against my hand drew my attention to the bed.
Grant was awake, his eyes fixed on mine. I broke into a smile. "Hi."
"Hey," he replied, his voice weak but present enough to make both the doctor and nurse jolt in surprise.
"You're awake," the doctor said, smiling broadly.
Grant managed a small nod before his eyelids drooped. "Thanks to this beautiful pup." His eyes glowed gray as his wolf surfaced. "Thank you, pup. You saved both of us while dealing with my needs. I know it wasn't easy."
