Chapter 97 - Chapter 97. As Long As You Want to See Me, I Can Appear Beside You Anytime

"Mr. Alaric, please help me!"

"I'm willing to agree to any conditions Mr. Alaric may have!" said Charles excitedly.

"Even if there are no conditions, I don't need anything from you."

Alaric shook his head, raised his hand, condensed a small orb of white magical energy, and then threw it toward Charles.

Charles didn't move, allowing the mysterious energy to enter his body.

Then, under Charles's strong spiritual perception, that mysterious energy rushed directly to his spine.

Where he had been shot.

Charles could clearly feel that the energy was reconnecting his nerves, which had long lost sensation, and his injured spine!

"I felt… my legs!"

Charles excitedly tried to lift his feet and this time he succeeded!

Slowly, Charles placed both hands on the wheelchair and tried to stand!!

"I did it!!"

Although he couldn't walk immediately, the level of recovery was enough to make Charles happy!

"Your legs have been in a wheelchair for too long, it will take time to recover, and it won't be long before you can walk normally again."

"Thank you! Mr. Alaric!!"

Charles slowly sat down and thanked Alaric with great gratitude!

"Mr. Alaric, if there are any orders, I will do my best to fulfill them!"

"Not for now, in short, this energy should be my gift to you, and this as well."

said Alaric, clenching his right hand in the air and grabbing a business card that appeared out of nowhere.

"If in the future you have an enemy you cannot deal with and who threatens life on Earth, you can come to me at this address."

"Does it have to be a magical threat?"

Charles also thought that Alaric's group of mages only fought magical threats.

"Not only magical threats, anything that threatens Earth and all humanity, we have a duty to respond. That's our mission!" Alaric explained seriously.

But he also wanted to follow up on the "copy" of the Apocalypse event and get to know Jean through Charles.

And with this meeting, the next time he approached Jean, Charles wouldn't see him as someone with hidden intentions.

And all he gave was a little magical energy and an address.

"I understand. If such a great crisis arises and we can't solve it, I'll ask Mr. Alaric for help."

Charles took the business card and promised very seriously.

"That's best, I'll be going."

"Goodbye, Mr. Alaric!"

Charles watched as Alaric's soul projection dispersed into the air.

Charles lowered his gaze to the business card in his hand and realized that Alaric would not interfere in their mutant affairs.

Unless any of them posed a threat to all humanity.

At the same time, Charles felt great respect for those mages who silently protected them.

"This beautiful world, whether mutants or humans, is worth protecting!"

Charles thought emotionally.

Knock, knock!

"Professor, are you there?!"

Beast knocked on the door from outside, having heard some rustling in the office, so he came to check.

"I'm here, come in!"

"Professor, who were you talking to just now?" Beast suspiciously glanced around the office but didn't see anyone else.

"Hank! I can stand!!" Charles slowly stood up, holding onto his wheelchair, and shouted excitedly.

"Professor!!"

Alaric opened his eyes on the sofa and smiled gently.

"Connection established ~ next is Jean."

However, regarding Jean, Alaric said he was not in a hurry, after all, the power of the Phoenix wouldn't go anywhere.

Before that, Alaric needed to continue strengthening his power.

Otherwise, what if something went wrong when he came into contact with the Phoenix Force and he couldn't suppress it?

Although, no matter how much Alaric improved now, unless he reached multiversal or all-around universal level, he would have no way to "take" the Phoenix Force.

But a bit stronger meant a bit more safety assurance.

At that moment, Alaric might have to use the Time Gem again.

Ring, ring, ring!

At that moment, the mobile phone placed on the table suddenly rang.

"Hello?"

On the other side, London, England, university institute.

Jane was pacing around the room, walking in circles, holding her phone and not knowing what to do.

After watching the live news broadcast with Darcy, Darcy said as she was leaving that she wanted Jane to ask Alaric if he was really a superhero, saying this was the best opportunity to contact him and Jane shouldn't miss it.

Jane agreed.

But when she picked up the phone and was about to dial the number already saved in her contacts, she hesitated again.

Jane was worried she'd disturb Alaric and was afraid she was imagining things, and that Alaric didn't actually think anything special of her.

But Jane really wanted to talk to Alaric!

In the end, the desire in Jane's heart overcame her shyness and she pressed the call button.

The waiting time for the call to connect felt like an eternity.

Eventually…

"Hello?"

"!!!" Jane was so excited she didn't know what to say!

"Who is it? If you don't speak, I'm hanging up?"

Hearing the sound of breathing from the other side of the phone, Alaric was very confused.

Since Jane hadn't given Alaric her number, and this was her first call, Alaric didn't know it was her.

However, this was clearly an international call…

"Jane?" Alaric guessed.

"Yes, yes, it's me! Don't hang up!!" Jane quickly said.

But her heart was full of surprise, Alaric actually knew it was her!!

"Alright, I won't hang up, but it's so late, are you…?"

"I… um… I just wanted to ask if you're that superhero… I just saw the live broadcast on my computer!"

Jane closed her eyes and voiced her doubts.

"I am."

"It's really you!! Wow! Oh my God! You're a superhero!!"

Jane was so excited she rambled, nearly bouncing in place.

"Yeah, aren't you afraid?"

"Why would I be afraid? You're a hero! A hero who stopped the monster!"

"Ordinary people are always afraid of the unknown."

"I'm not afraid!" Jane said seriously.

"That's good," Alaric laughed.

"So, what kind of hero are you? I mean, are you like Iron Man?"

"No, I'm a mage, a mage who uses magic."

"A mage? Is that someone who can use magic?!" Jane asked curiously.

"Yes."

"That's amazing! I'd love to see that!"

"You want to see me?" Alaric asked with a smile.

"I do, but you're in New York, I'm in London, so far away…" Jane was disappointed.

She really wanted to go to New York to find Alaric!

"As long as you want to see me, I can appear beside you anytime."

"You're not lying, are you?! I don't believe it!!"

Jane was full of doubt.

"Well then? Believe it or not."

Alaric appeared in front of Jane with the phone.

"Alaric!!"

Jane stared at Alaric in shock, then flew into his arms.
