Chapter 50 - Ensign

"Orders received, Swain," Nekser's voice was mixed with various explosions and panicked shouts, clearly indicating that he had successfully destroyed a defensive node. The rest was simple; Shadow Assassin could pull out more personnel to deal with the garrison commanders.

"I wonder where the Tower gets its confidence from?" Swain said, looking at the orderly transport ships continuously taking off and landing. The gravity well was highly automated, requiring very few people to operate. Without human intervention, once a ship's weight reached the preset level, it would automatically follow its designated route to various smelting factories on Kiavahr.

The gravity well was already under the control of the Dark Raven Guard. Apart from a few ships that had already been taken over, the other ships were still following their programmed routines, continuously loading ore. Based on the current inventory, they could last about a day before running idle due to no new ore being transported. This was also why Swain and Corax had demanded all camps hold out for two days during the great strike. The Tower's ore reserves were limited. If the Tower could have held out for ten days to half a month, the miners would have had no way to organize a strike of this scale.

The Tower had always tightly controlled the supply of materials to the miners. Within ten days to half a month, the miners would have collapsed on their own, and the Tower wouldn't have needed to pay any attention to the so-called great strike.

"Done!" Swain clapped his hands, the screen full of green light making his face appear terrifyingly eerie. After about ten minutes of operation, he had finally successfully altered the routes of ten ships.

He wasn't going to blow up those smelting factories; why would he? Those were their own industries. He should directly bomb the headquarters of the Tech Guild on Kiavahr, as well as the garrison and the residences of other major nobles on Kiavahr.

In the original background, Corax had thrown five nuclear bombs at Kiavahr to destroy its will to resist. This time, Swain gave the Tech Guild a super-sized boost, and he chose the most powerful type of mining nuclear bombs. As for the power? It was only a tiny bit more powerful than Little Boy.

Anyway, current buildings, whether in strength or other aspects, were much stronger than those of the ancient 3K era. So, a more powerful nuclear bomb was fine. Humans of this era, after various genetic modifications during the Golden Age of the Human Federation, had much stronger resistance to nuclear radiation. As long as they weren't directly exposed to heavily contaminated areas for extended periods, there wouldn't be much of a problem; the main point was their tough skin.

"Might as well clean it all up at once, to save us from having to deal with some secret legion colluding to harm our home later," Swain's cruel smile, combined with the screen emitting a ghastly green data stream, sent shivers down the spines of the Shadow Assassin waiting beside him. It was their first time seeing their usually jovial leader reveal such a terrifying smile. As for the incomprehensible words their leader mumbled, they simply pretended not to hear them, as they were already used to it.

This was also why Swain chose to let Corax deal with the Tower Lord. Corax's inherent benevolence might still lead him, as in the original history, to merely threaten the Tower into surrender. But Swain had no such concerns. Compared to the widespread war that engulfed the entire galaxy in the later stages of the Great Rebellion, what were the few people who died in the nuclear explosion on Kiavahr?

He wasn't like during the Krieg Civil War, where both loyalists and rebels directly carpet-bombed with nuclear weapons, then continued trench warfare. The radiation from the explosion of merely ten nuclear bombs was incredibly easy to deal with, supported by current technology.

"Swain, the mining nuclear bombs have been transported over. They're all the maximum yield type, as per your request." Nekser's once perfectly fitted black stealth suit now hung like rags, in strips, from his body. At the same time, his exposed skin was covered with various scars, but fortunately, no vital areas were injured. However, judging by the various fresh wounds on his body, Kiavahr's regular army still had some skill.

"Come on, quickly place these nuclear bombs on these ten ships and set up the detonation devices." Swain immediately showed an aunt-like benevolent smile upon seeing these plump nuclear bombs. As a soul from the ancient 2K era, he had only seen that moment, worthy of being forever recorded in human history, through declassified cinematic footage.

Anyway, on that day, a certain small island was full of familiar faces. Although three millennia had passed, this did not prevent Swain from appreciating the explosion of such ancient yet powerful thermonuclear weapons.

Soon, at Swain's urging, the Dark Raven Guard members familiar with this area quickly set up the detonation devices and handed them over to Swain.

"Record this. This will be a moment worth recording in history." Swain was as excited as a child seeing fireworks for the first time. At this moment, he realized he was still the same person from the 2K era, and not the Swain who had been subjected to various things in the cruel Warhammer universe that could throw his worldview into a cesspit, then press the washing machine's spin cycle button to violently churn it.

The transport ships quickly flew towards their predetermined targets under the newly set programs. Now, all Swain had to do was wait and then press the dangerous red button in his hand.

Top Floor of the Tower

"My Lord, three mid-level defensive nodes have been captured by those overseers. Now, those slaves have broken into the lower levels and are systematically clearing out the institutions below. Should we send a message to Kiavahr?" The Old Butler, still in his simple butler's attire, reported the latest situation to the Tower Lord. Simultaneously, the tactical display changed from green to red, indicating enemy occupation, as each lower level fell.

"Continue to control information on Lycaeus. No messages are to be sent to Kiavahr without my command!" Akarin rejected the Old Butler's suggestion.

"Have my personal guard prepare. I want to see how capable these miners are, whether they can reach me. The Tower is chaotic enough; it's a good opportunity to clean things up thoroughly," Akarin said with a smile, looking at the constantly falling lower levels of the Tower on the screen.

"Please forgive this servant, my Lord." The Old Butler knelt on the luxurious carpet with a loud thud, greatly terrified. Years of service made him keenly aware of how furious his master was now. Besides the constantly changing tactical display on the main screen, about half of the avatars of the Tower's high-ranking managers had already dimmed.
