Su Qing's sleep was restless that night. She had a bizarre and whimsical past, and she woke up drenched in sweat.
The sticky, sticky air made her feel quite uncomfortable, and when she opened her eyes, it was already dawn.
The bed was warm, and she had never been one to stay in bed. She simply tried to recall her dream, but couldn't, and her head felt groggy.
Her phone had been smashed, the glass on the screen shattered. A few numbers could still be vaguely discerned in the light.
It was seven o'clock in the morning, a little later than usual. Su Qing reached out and pinched her forehead, wondering how she would get back home, and how she would explain it to Su Rao...
Or maybe lie.
She couldn't let Su Rao worry about her anymore.
In the bathroom, she briefly washed the clothes she'd taken off yesterday, though they were inevitably stained and torn.
In the mirror, the girl looked frail, her face a bit pale. The red marks on her face, though not numerous, had become more pronounced after a night's sleep.
The bruises looked frightening.
Su Qing cleared her thoughts, lowering her brows and no longer looking at the person in the mirror. She turned on the faucet, washed her face, and pursed her lips.
What had happened that night would take her a while to process. Su Qing pinched herself and walked out the door.
She wonder if he's awake yet.
Everything that happened last night played out in her mind like a movie. Su Qing covered her eyes with her hand and pursed her lips. Her wrist was on the doorknob, but she hesitated to turn it.
Let her be the bad guy.
Jiang Sui slept on the sofa, fully clothed, or rather, awake all night.
Over and over in her mind was Su Qing's wounded face, her frail shoulders, her determined eyes, and her soft, yet heartless and rude words.
"Jiang Sui, my mother can't know what happened today."
"Jiang Sui, you'll help me, right?"
"Jiang Sui, I'm not sure if I'm willing to do that either. But after we finish the college entrance exam, I'm willing to give it a try."
"Is this considered a deposit?"
The girl gave him a gentle kiss, her eyes calm.
Jiang Sui only remembered nodding.
Then he didn't sleep well and had a dream all night. What the dream made the young man feel a little disgusted.
Just because of a kiss, he lost control like that.
He covered his face, placed the breakfast he'd bought on the table, and looked toward the bedroom door.
He walked over with long legs.
Before he could knock, his fingers missed the door, and Su Qing opened it.
He was stunned the moment he looked up. Although he had prepared himself mentally, he still felt a little at a loss.
"Good morning, Jiang Sui."
The girl smiled softly, her bright white teeth gleaming, her curved eyes slightly raised as she looked up at him.
The purple bruise on her face was still a little frightening.
"Good morning."
Jiang Sui was visibly dazed and put his hand away.
"Eat breakfast first, then I'll take you shopping for some clothes and a cell phone."
"I'll get you some medicine for your wound later."
"Teacher Li Ran said they're leaving for Jiangcheng this afternoon, so time might be a bit tight."
"I'll go home with you later. I'll wait for you outside, in the alley."
"Then we'll go to the airport together."
Suddenly, the young man became quite talkative, talking about everything he needed to arrange and how best to get it done. The only thing he didn't mention was last night.
