Chapter 251 - Clark: Krypton has been blown to smithereens? And I have a cousin?

Besides that.

According to the diary, at the critical moment when Batman was about to kill him, it was this Lois who saved his life? This Lois stopped Batman!

How Lois did this wasn't revealed in detail in the diary, and Clark naturally couldn't guess.

But even if he used his imagination, he could guess that it definitely wasn't an easy feat.

Not to mention how Batman managed to almost kill him, but since the other party had already made the decision to kill, how could they easily change their mind?

No matter how you look at it, this Lois doesn't seem to be an ordinary person.

Also, there was one thing that Clark found really speechless.

Gotham's famous Dark Knight always upholds the principle of not killing, which is well-known.

No matter how heinous the crime, he would only knock the person down and send them to prison or the Arkham Asylum.

Why did he make an "exception" when it came to him?

What exactly did that guy, Lex Luthor, do! Actually, Lois is really Clark's destined goddess.

Looking at the whole of Earth, besides Clark's adoptive parents, Lois should be the first person to know Clark's secret.

But Lois chose to keep this secret for Clark.

Even when General Zod descended later, threatening all of humanity to hand over Clark, Lois didn't compromise.

Even when Clark was captured by General Zod, weakened into an ordinary person due to the Kryptonian environment, and could only be slaughtered, it was Lois who saved Clark!

[If I remember correctly, even the name "Superman" for Clark was given by Lois.]

Is it this Lois again?

Clark's interest in this person, who was "appointed" by this diary and was extremely important to him, increased again.

Over the years, Clark had been very careful to hide his identity, and he believed he hadn't revealed any flaws.

He hadn't revealed his identity at all.

Yet, Lois knew?

Did she find out by accident, or did she actively investigate and uncover his identity?

After a moment of thought, Clark felt that the latter was more likely.

After all, with his current abilities, Clark didn't think he was likely to make such a low-level mistake.

So he guessed that his identity was most likely discovered by Lois.

So, is Lois a cop?

Or some kind of special agent, like the FBI?

Or maybe a journalist?

These are all "suspicious" identities.

But which one it is exactly, Clark can't definitively conclude right now.

Clark temporarily put aside those messy thoughts and refocused his attention on the diary.

His expression immediately became serious.

His previous guess was correct. General Zod's target was indeed him!

He even threatened the entire human population of this planet to find him!

This is enough to show how important he is to General Zod.

But why is this happening?

Clark has been on Earth since he was a baby and has never even seen General Zod.

Even before he got the diary, he didn't know this person existed.

Why was the other party so fixated on him?

Could it be because of something on Krypton?

Because of the grudges and love affairs of those related to Krypton, this cause and effect affected Earth?

So it seemed that his being sent to Earth in the first place wasn't that simple.

Behind it, there must be a major secret he didn't know!

What exactly was that secret?

Clark really wanted to know.

But unfortunately, so far, it seemed that only the owner of that diary knew this secret.

"Lois, saved me again?"

And soon, Clark, whose gaze returned to the diary, couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.

Including that time with Batman, this was the second time Lois had saved him?

He had to admit, this was something Clark hadn't anticipated.

With his current freakish physical abilities, this overpowered strength, humans on Earth were as weak as ants before him.

Yet, he had been saved time and again?

It seemed the diary was right; this Lois Lane was indeed a very important person to him.

Even if he didn't understand Lois yet, judging by her actions, Clark was also very impressed.

Keeping his identity a secret, not yielding even under the pressure from General Zod, what a brave person.

What trust she had in him!

Just looking at these "deeds," Clark was already filled with good feelings for Lois.

It's just that... he'd actually been captured by General Zod?

It seemed that General Zod was truly formidable!

As for why the Kryptonian environment would weaken him to the level of an ordinary person, Clark only pondered briefly before fully understanding.

This was definitely because his body had adapted to the environment of Earth! And the environments of Earth and Krypton must be vastly different.

It was just like what the diary had mentioned before: humans couldn't survive in the Kryptonian environment. And right now, wasn't he just a super-powered version of a human?

There was nothing to dwell on. The key question was, where had General Zod taken him? Inside the enemy's spaceship? That was probably the only place that possessed a Kryptonian environment, right?

Actually, he really should thank General Zod; otherwise, Clark and Lois would never have met.

But now, General Zod should still be drifting through the universe, searching for Clark, right?

This guy was also lucky; he had just been imprisoned in the Phantom Zone for failing the rebellion, and then he regained his freedom because of Krypton's explosion.

[But it's a pity he came to Earth. That was his biggest mistake.]

[But then again, Clark has The Codex, or rather, Clark himself is The Codex.]

[That's The Codex!]

[General Zod's only hope for reviving Krypton!]

[How could he possibly remain indifferent when he knew Clark was on Earth?]

Rebellion!

Clark's pupils contracted slightly.

Although he had no idea what this so-called rebellion was all about.

Through this word, he could also gain a deeper understanding of General Zod.

This person, it seemed, was not a good man at all.

The Phantom Zone, this Kryptonian super-prison, was mentioned for the first time in the diary.

But even if Clark was just guessing, he could still figure out the general idea.

There was nothing to say about that.

But Krypton had actually exploded? Clark couldn't help but be stunned.

Even though the diary had just mentioned that the Kryptonians were already extinct.

But even Krypton exploding, that was a bit too thorough of an extinction!

So what exactly happened on Krypton? Was it destroyed by someone! No matter how he looked at it, something extraordinary, even earth-shattering, seemed to have happened on Krypton.

Considering General Zod's attitude towards him, it was hard for Clark not to make a certain guess:

That earth-shattering event should be related to him!

It had countless connections!

What connections?

Soon, Clark got his answer.

"The Codex?"

"What is this?"

Clark frowned.

Judging by the literal meaning, this was a book related to life... a book?

But could a book be so important?

Important enough to become General Zod's only hope for Krypton's revival?

So, that's why General Zod came looking for him?

It was because of The Codex! But when did he get The Codex?

Ever since his adoptive father, Jonathan, told him his true identity, Clark had searched that spaceship.

Besides a "key" that he didn't know the use of, there was nothing else.

Where did The Codex come from?

Wait a minute.

Was he The Codex itself?

What did that even mean? Clark was really confused by the spoilers in the diary.

He's a living person, well, an alien.

But he's also a thinking, living, intelligent being. How could he be a "Codex"?

Clark was genuinely bewildered.

Could it be that the owner of the diary, Zhou Cheng, was using some kind of metaphorical language?

Clark was truly stumped for a moment.

But in any case, the purpose of General Zod's arrival on Earth was finally known, which was a significant gain.

So the next important matter lay before him: After confirming the diary's spoilers were true and after verifying them in the Arctic, he would thoroughly investigate The Codex!

Clark happily made this decision in his heart.

I feel like Krypton's path went a little astray.

Designing the fate of every race has countless benefits, but it also completely seals off a person's potential.

Perhaps that's one of the reasons why Clark is so special.

He's the first naturally born Kryptonian child, not "designed and manufactured" using The Codex.

Which means infinite possibilities.

Like a blank sheet of paper, able to be influenced and colored by the surrounding environment.

I'm glad that it was the kind Martha and Jonathan who found Clark, otherwise, it's hard to say whether Clark would be Superman or Homelander.

It's even possible he could have become Black Noir.

"Designing and manufacturing life?"

"There's such a thing?!"

Clark was genuinely surprised.

Because he grew up on Earth, the idea of life being conceived and born from a mother was a fundamental concept ingrained in Clark's genes.

Furthermore, although Clark was superior to humans in every way, his physical and physiological structure was not much different from that of Earthlings.

This naturally led Clark to believe that he, like humans, was also born by his mother.

But judging from the diary, was it not like that on Krypton?

Newborns didn't come from a mother's womb, but from The Codex?

So The Codex was used for this?

Design and manufacture life?

This thing was too exaggerated!

So all the Kryptonians were clones in the end?

This result was quite stimulating, it had to be said.

Fortunately, the diary also clearly stated that Clark was the only naturally born Kryptonian.

This provided Clark with some comfort.

Good heavens, if Clark knew he was "created," his worldview would definitely shatter.

As for the diary's discussion about him being a blank slate, Clark was noncommittal.

He was simply grateful to his adoptive parents.

But... who was Homelander?

And who was Black Noir?

Judging by the diary's tone, Homelander should be someone with a similar experience to his, and with similar abilities.

And that Black Noir was the same.

Just that these two, because of their different upbringings, ended up on completely different "paths"?

Becoming "negative examples"?

Especially that Black Noir, what exactly would he have to do to be called Black Noir?

Clark couldn't even imagine it.

It's like Superman's cousin.

Well, I don't know if Superman has a cousin in this universe, but if he does, it's a good example.

The other person wasn't as lucky as Clark, being treated as a monster and being hunted by everyone, always living a life of wandering.

Plus, the other person's biological father was also a General Zod-type figure, so in the end, he almost occupied Earth.

And then there's Supergirl Kara, Superman's cousin.

When the other person first came to Earth, Superman asked a kind couple to adopt her, and as a result, Kara became another Superman.

[The importance of the environment after birth is evident.]

[To be honest, in this regard, Krypton's The Codex indeed has a great advantage.]

What, what the hell?

Clark was utterly shocked.

This spoiler from the diary revealed a very important piece of information.

That is, parallel universes exist!

Otherwise, what's the deal with the description "in this universe"?

Judging from the words, the other party was clearly saying that there is more than one universe in this world, and more than one Superman.

In this universe, he wasn't sure if Superman had a cousin.

But he was absolutely certain that in one universe, Superman did have a cousin!

The amount of information was absolutely mind-blowing.

The concept of parallel universes wasn't exactly a high-level one.

Even Clark, who came from a farm, had heard of it.

But like the mainstream view, Clark had always considered it a science fiction concept, or rather, a scientific hypothesis.

That was all.

But now the diary was hinting that it was real?

This was a perspective that went beyond Superman's usual understanding and established worldview.

Clark couldn't tell if it was true or not for the time being, so he simply didn't waste his brainpower on it.

The diary mentioned that Clark actually had a cousin, and a younger cousin!

Black Noir is a movie, an alternate story about Superman. Also, Marvel will definitely go back and do another one; the Marvel story isn't over yet.
