Chapter 248 - Traversing DC, the New Diary Owner: Clark Kent

"Yes, it's over. I know."

"I just didn't expect it to be so fast."

Thor forced a smile at Captain America.

Then the three Avengers leaders stopped wasting words and stepped forward, retrieving the three floating Infinity Stones.

Using their respective keys, they stored them safely in a pocket dimension.

Once everything was complete, the last lingering worries in everyone's hearts finally vanished.

And only then could it be said that the matter was truly over.

"Your mission on Earth is complete. What are your plans next?"

Thor turned to chat idly with his fellow Asgardians, enjoying the sunset together.

"To be honest, I don't know."

Ajak shook her head. "For millions of years, we have existed for our missions, but our mission has never ended prematurely like this."

"Isn't that a good thing—for both of us?"

Thor said naturally.

"Of course."

Ajak didn't deny it—this was exactly the outcome she had long pursued.

But Thor didn't notice the trace of melancholy in Ajak's words.

Soon, she would completely forget all of this. That was the price she had to pay.

Though Arishem had agreed to Ajak's request, one undeniable fact also came to light: Ajak was no longer a fully reliable servant.

So Arishem would erase Ajak's memories, just like he had with the others.

Her sympathy would be erased along with them.

Only then could Arishem continue to use Ajak with peace of mind.

"Until the next mission arrives, we'll likely stay on Earth for a while, but how long? No one knows."

"Though I don't think it matters, because we probably won't meet again."

Ajak spoke seriously to Thor.

Even without mutants, they would not casually interact with ordinary humans.

"I will miss you all," Thor said sincerely.

"Goodbye!"

"Goodbye, everyone!"

After brief farewells, they parted ways.

Where the Eternals went afterward remained unknown.

Meanwhile, the Avengers regrouped at their headquarters.

"The Celestial issue is resolved. That's huge news! I say we celebrate with a party," Thor proposed enthusiastically.

"Absolutely, this calls for celebration!"

Tony was the first to agree. "Leave this to me—I'm an expert. How about tonight? Everyone come over."

"Save the world, then relax a bit."

"Ha! That's life! That's the superhero life!"

Red Guardian cheered excitedly.

The other Avengers expressed interest as well—this was indeed worth celebrating.

"Thor, any news on the Power Stone?"

Captain America asked Thor.

"Rogers, you're such a buzzkill! Now's the time to relax, not work!"

Thor chided Cap, but still shared what he had learned.

"No leads on the Power Stone yet, but we did notice something interesting."

"Ronan, the Ravagers, and many other cosmic hunters are all searching for a 'Cosmic Sphere.'"

"I've sent Asgard to search, and I'm monitoring Ronan and Star-Lord as well."

"Don't worry, buddy—the Power Stone will be found."

Thor assured Cap—and the other Avengers present—so everyone was in the loop.

Worth noting: Peter Quill, Star-Lord, had been exposed.

No secrets here—one of Yondu's Ravager teams had only one guy from Earth, which was easy to trace.

According to the diary, Star-Lord played a key role in the Power Stone events, so Thor hadn't approached him yet—just quietly observing.

"Cosmic Sphere? What's that?" Cap asked, curious.

"Enough, Rogers. Stop spoiling everyone's fun."

Tony stood, interrupting Cap. "I'm heading back first. You should too. Change clothes, relax, I'll see you at Stark Tower."

The playboy swaggered off.

That night, the Avengers truly held a grand celebration at the top of Stark Tower, partying until late.

Afterward, life returned to normal.

Everyone resumed their usual routines.

Thor returned to Asgard but continued monitoring the Power Stone situation.

However, the Power Stone was not easy to locate.

For the next three months, Thor's team had no significant progress.

The only small consolation: Star-Lord seemed to have a lead.

He piloted his ship independently, leaving the Ravagers to investigate on his own.

Thor tracked his every move.

[Diary Update: Target Achieved]

[Congratulations to Diary Owner Zhou Cheng for receiving a random reward!]

Zhou Cheng was unaware of the Avengers' situation, but he was thrilled—another "blind box" reward.

Over five years of using the diary, he had opened many, yet each time the excitement remained.

"It's always fun—let's see what I get this time!"

Suddenly, a beam of light shot from the diary into Zhou Cheng's body.

Clearly, it was another skill-type reward.

The information was instantly projected into his mind.

[Skill: Dimensional Travel][Attribute: Superpower][Source: Fantastic Four][Description: As one of the most powerful mutants in history, Mr. Fantastic possesses multiple seemingly "bugged" superpowers, one of which is Dimensional Travel. This ability allows the user to freely traverse across dimensions.]

Zhou Cheng was stunned.

Dimensional Travel!

Incredible! Even Zhou Cheng, at his level, was genuinely excited.

Not only could he traverse the Marvel universe, but also other universes—including DC!

He remembered Mr. Fantastic had once traveled to DC, even kidnapping Superman into Marvel.

In other words, Zhou Cheng could now truly traverse all worlds!

Furthermore, after over five years of diary training, Zhou Cheng's power level was now comparable to Odin himself.

He was a force to be reckoned with in any universe.

"Across all worlds? Haha… life is about to get interesting!"

Excited, Zhou Cheng immediately tested his power.

Countless dimensions appeared in his mind, like books on a shelf, waiting to be chosen.

Besides Marvel: DC, live-action series, Japanese anime, Chinese comics—everything was available.

Even worlds from stored data existed!

"Which world first?"

After a brief pause, Zhou Cheng made a decision.

"This one!"

He activated his Dimensional Travel.

A flowing energy wrapped him completely.

Whoosh! Zhou Cheng vanished.

In the next moment, his surroundings changed completely.

From his luxurious mansion, he was now in an unfamiliar city.

A new dimension? Zhou Cheng looked around curiously.

At first, nothing seemed different from his world.

But after buying a few newspapers at a kiosk, he noticed intriguing headlines:

"Wayne Enterprises acquires another bank, expanding its reach.""Mr. Freeze strikes again, Gotham jewelry store robbed—why the obsession with diamonds?""Oliver Queen, missing for five years and presumed dead, suddenly returns. Planet Daily uncovers more secrets."

DC Universe!

No doubt—this was DC.

Yet, Zhou Cheng found no news about Superman.

He pondered this.

Instinctively, he recorded his observations in the diary.

Small town near Smallville.

A modest tavern.

Clark Kent worked diligently as a waiter, always smiling as he served every customer.

Even when dealing with rude or aggressive patrons, he remained calm.

The other staff admired him—never had they seen such a gentle (or timid) man.

"Thompson, clean up table five!"

The tavern owner barked without looking back.

—Thompson, Clark's alias.

"Yes, sir!" Clark responded, quickly tidying the table.

But then, his expression changed.

"Ah!"

Bang!

"Watch out!"

His super-hearing caught the sound immediately.

A car had a blowout and was out of control.

Clark's eyes darted through walls, trees, seeing the situation clearly.

Sure enough—a car was speeding wildly.

His first instinct: save lives.

But his father's repeated advice flashed in his mind:

"Do not reveal your powers. Don't expose yourself."

He had seen Jonathan Kent die in a storm—Clark could have saved him, but was forbidden to intervene.

This pain lingered in his heart.

Then, he noticed—a mother crossing the street with her child, directly in the car's path.

Clark didn't hesitate. He dashed out at super-speed.

Inside the tavern, people sensed a blur of movement, a faint gust of wind—but saw nothing unusual.

Whoosh! Crack!

Clark slammed his feet into the ground, propelling himself forward.

He couldn't fly yet, so brute force and speed were his only option.

Fortunately, the accident site was close, and he arrived just in time.

The mother instinctively shielded her child.

Bang!

The car stopped abruptly, dented with a clear hand-shaped mark—but no one was injured.

Clark watched, smiling faintly, before returning to work as if nothing had happened.

"Did anyone feel that gust of wind just now?""Was something flashing by? Too fast to see."

No one noticed him—perfect.

Later, Clark returned to his farm, finishing his day.

Back in his room, he froze.

What was this?

A black diary lay on his desk—something he hadn't seen before.

"Zhou Cheng?" he muttered. Who was this person?

Clark's upbringing in Smallville offered no explanation. No visitors had come.

He carefully asked his mother, Martha:

"Mom, did you or anyone leave this in my room?"

"No guests, Clark," she replied, confused.

The diary prevented him from revealing itself directly.

Clark realized:

This diary had chosen him.

Its purpose? To be used by him.

Resolutely, Clark opened it.

The contents made him frown.

[Batman, Green Arrow, Planet Daily, Gotham, Metropolis…]

No doubt. This was the DC Universe!

[A world of superheroes just as impressive as Marvel!]

[Batman, Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman—classic DC heroes, no less than Marvel's.]

[No news about Flash or Superman—perhaps they hadn't been exposed yet.]

[Superman is still a farm boy.]
