Chapter 15 - Addition

"Rat what…?"

Rune, who had just woken up, began laughing as Zavry simply stared into thin air in disbelief. Of all things, rat poison, why the fuck would someone even put that inside the refrigerator?

"That's why I wrote a big warning in capital letters, in case anyone visits. And why did you even eat it? Did you not read the warning?" Rune asked. Zavry just pushed his hair backward from his face; at this point, he didn't even know what to say.

"I warned you," Rune said.

"You'd better head to the hospital for a health check tomorrow morning," Leon added as Zavry sat there, the sleep once in his eyes now gone.

'Check up? with which money' Rubin asked sarcastically.

"I wouldn't blame you for being naturally stupid, but learn from your mistake next time, okay?" Rune added making matters even more worst.

"Go back to sleep, bro. Tomorrow we'll be playing the video game like we planned… it's a horror game though." Zavry could not even believe Leon — he had just taken rat poison and here this guy was talking about some silly video game.

Zavry moved his hands as he signed sharply,

"We have to be talking about the rat poison and here you are telling me about video games."

Leon laughed softly and shrugged.

"Better to enjoy life bro, before death calls."

Zavry smiled at his words as he signed slowly,

"I can see now you are not just some spoilt guy…you're also a fool."

Leon simply chuckled and patted Zavry's shoulder twice..

the kind of pat that said, Good luck, bro, in case the poison leads to something else.

Rune, who seemed joyous about the news, then spoke,

'It seems today really is the worst day for you your bad luck is more than normal.' He then added after laughing gently.

'I can also see you're suffering from partial memory loss… have you forgotten your body can fight off that poison? You just need a few hours and it will be gone. Stop acting like this is the first time you've taken poison.'

Zavry simply lay on the sofa.

"Wake me up by six o'clock on the dot," Zavry told Rune.

"I'm supposed to be the one telling you that," Rune spoke calmly.

"Bro, stop this stupid joke and wake me up as I say," Zavry said, already tired of it all and not wanting to express himself more.

"Fine."

Zavry's eyes moved to the ceiling as he closed them calmly.

"How many missions tomorrow?" he asked.

Rune fell silent for a bit as Zavry waited calmly.

"I think we only have one mission tomorrow, and that would be in the afternoon," Rune said.

Zavry nodded, closed his eyes, and just as he was about to drift to sleep, he heard his name.

"Zavry…"

"Bro, pretend to sleep…" Rune advised suddenly.

"Zavry… Zavry," Leon called, but Zavry remained calm, his eyes still closed.

Zavry continued pretending to sleep. Then he heard,

"Ohh, too bad.. he slept just when the pizza o ordered finally arrived."

Zavry immediately jolted up.

Leon looked at him the way he jumped up..as if he had just had a bad dream. No one would know it was because of pizza. Zavry stood and signed,

"Where is the pizza?"

Leon looked at him and said,

"I have been calling you and you didn't respond at all..where you pretending to sleep." he asked with a raised brow

Zavry scratched the back of his neck calmly. If he had known it was pizza, he would have answered.

"Rune, you fucking knew about this, don't you?" Zavry asked.

Rune simply chuckled.

Leon simply turned, not taking it too seriously. They walked toward the dining area as Zavry signed,

"What kind of pizza did you order?"

"Chicken and pepperoni," he spoke.

Zavry nodded calmly. He wanted to smile but held it back..he didn't want to act too excited. He couldn't wait; it had been a long time since he'd last had pizza.

Pizza at LIK was very expensive, especially when ordered. Or maybe it wasn't expensive, but to Rune it was like a luxury.

'It seems like the rat poison was simply a blessing in disguise,' Rune spoke as Zavry ignored him.

He sat calmly as he gently opened the chicken pizza. The sight alone was mouth-watering.

He ate silently, even though he felt like eating all of it. Leon was now busy with his phone, which Zavry didn't mind at all knowing he wasn't too focused on the pizza.

"There's a game tonight, bro," Leon finally said, raising his head to look at Zavry, who nodded, taking a bite of pizza. He gently dropped the pizza as he signed,

"You can go ahead and watch. I would sleep..I haven't had a good rest in a long time."

Leon nodded, his eyes just staring at him with questions.

"Sometimes I wonder if you're even a man," just as those words left his lips, Zavry almost choked on his pizza… he had not expected such. His eyes gave Leon a sharp glare.

Leon then laughed as he spoke, his face turning serious…

"Bro, tell me the truth… do you have a low sperm count? Is that why you're saving it for the future, when you meet your wife? I don't get any other reason why you chose to be a virgin."

Zavry simply ignored him. He could not believe that his friend thought the reason for him not going clubbing and all was because he had a low sperm count.

Zavry moved as he stood.

Leon, noticing, then quickly spoke,

"Just kidding, you take things seriously."

But Zavry ignored him and walked to the kitchen. He washed his hands as he cleaned them, then moved to the fridge, taking another bottle of water and drank. He did not finish, so he dropped the remaining inside the fridge.

"Why are you acting like that? It's not like you have it… or do you?" Rune asked.

Zavry just walked toward the sofa and sat.

"Wake me up early, bro," Zavry finally spoke. Rune had no idea why he was actually ignoring him now.

'Why does he want me to wake him up early.'

"Sure," Rune spoke as Zavry laid both hands over his face, shielding himself from the light as he slept.

The next day…

"Wake up, Zavry," Rune spoke. Zavry nodded as he opened his eyes.

"What time is it?" he asked.

"You said I should wake you up by six…that's what I did," Rune answered.

Zavry smiled and nodded. He sat up, then his eyes moved to the clock.

His eyes widened — it was twelve o'clock in the afternoon.

"Rune, are you mad? I said wake me up by six, why twelve?" Zavry asked, his face twisting with frustration as he swept his hands through his hair in annoyance.

"Ohh, I added," Rune spoke calmly.

"Six o'clock plus six o'clock equals twelve o'clock."
