Baldr closed his eyes tightly, sinking his consciousness deep into his mind's sea. He had a faint sense that something was hidden within this vast inner ocean.
Moments later, a grand gate of shimmering light slowly took shape in his consciousness.
Staring at the gate, which seemed to hold infinite mysteries, Baldr's eyes flickered with a strange light.
Nothing like this had ever existed in his original memories. His personal divine artifact was never a gate.
So... was this his "cheat code"?
The thought made the odd gleam in Baldr's eyes grow brighter.
But quickly, he furrowed his brow.
"How do I use this thing?"
"Do I activate it manually? Or with my mind?"
As he wondered this, the gate seemed to sense his hesitation. Suddenly, a beam of pure light burst forth from it and shot straight into Baldr's mind.
A flood of information rushed into his thoughts.
Moments later, Baldr opened his eyes again. A sharp gleam flashed in them.
"The Dimensional Gate... it can open portals to countless worlds!"
He took a deep breath.
As a reborn soul, Baldr knew exactly what this meant.
The Marvel world had no clear path for power growth, but other worlds surely did.
Countless realms, endless universes, infinite resources and possibilities...
If he could open enough worlds, gather enough power, maybe even reach the Celestial or Elder Celestial level, then ascending to the supreme—matching or even surpassing Marvel's One Above All—wouldn't be impossible!
"Activate!"
At his command, the portal quivered, radiating endless streams of light. After a moment, three swirling vortices appeared on the gate.
"The Day After Tomorrow" " Supernatural " "Demon Slayer"
"You can search three worlds at once, huh?" Baldr thought.
He was somewhat familiar with all three.
The Day After Tomorrow was a disaster movie world—not much benefit there.
Supernatural was barely fantasy, but it had a crystal capable of granting telekinetic powers—a nice superhuman artifact.
Demon Slayer combined sci-fi and fantasy, with many supernaturals: demons, the Nightwing Dragon Clan, Frankenstein's monsters, and more.
Honestly, though, not much there was truly useful to Baldr.
But the world that caught his interest most was Supernatural.
Because it clearly had Heaven and a God figure!
The Nightwing Dragon Clan was said to be created by the Archangel Michael.
Heaven, Michael, God—this meant Baldr had a chance to seize divine authority!
Divine authority—the power of omniscience and omnipotence!
Even a low-magic world's God would possess some portion of that power.
Most importantly, Baldr was a god of light, and Heaven was the ultimate realm of holy light—perfectly aligned with Baldr's path to ascension.
How could he not be interested in divine authority?
But in just a moment, Baldr sighed and averted his gaze.
Divine authority was tempting, but even a low-magic world's God was beyond his current reach.
A God, plus several angels, plus hundreds of Nightwing dragons—let's be honest, without Celestial-level power, there was no way he could take them on.
Right now, Baldr's strength was about on par with normal Thor.
If regular Thor were to face an entire faction of thousands of low-level supernaturals, even he would turn and run—and that's before considering a low-tier God with omniscience and omnipotence.
Only by breaking through the Celestial barrier and truly transforming into a god could Baldr withstand attacks from low-level supernaturals.
Baldr turned his attention to the other two worlds.
In moments, he dismissed The Day After Tomorrow.
A world with no supernaturals and looming apocalypse had no benefit for him—and Baldr wasn't ready to handle an end-of-the-world disaster.
"Select Supernatural!"
In an instant, the other two vortices faded away.
Baldr's eyes flashed with a hint of regret.
He didn't mind passing on The Day After Tomorrow, but worlds like Demon Slayer—with their lower-level supernaturals and clear God presence—weren't easy to find.
The next moment, a vast white light flooded Baldr's vision.
...
Supernatural World.
Night had fallen. In the wilderness, suddenly, a gate of light appeared out of nowhere.
The luminous screen stood three meters high, full of mysterious power.
A moment later, a figure stepped out.
Baldr set foot on unfamiliar yet strangely familiar ground, looking around at his surroundings.
"Supernatural factor close to zero..." he muttered.
"Has this world entered an era of supernatural extinction? Or is this just a normal world?"
Based on discussions he'd read in forums back in his past life, there were three theories about the crystal that granted telekinetic powers in Supernatural.
One: a lab experiment gone right.
Two: an alien artifact.
Three: a demon's creation.
Originally, Baldr leaned toward the third.
The protagonist Andrew's dark turn was just too natural; even after great suffering, a withdrawn person turning into a big bad was clearly a sign of growing inner darkness—possibly influenced by the crystal.
Now, though? It was hard to say.
A smirk curved Baldr's lips.
"Can't really tell about the first two, but the third one... we'll see soon enough."
With those words, majestic divine power burst forth from Baldr's body, spreading his godly aura.
His entire form was bathed in radiant light, as if shedding his human guise and truly ascending to godhood.
In an instant, the night was pushed back, light returning to the land.
Behind him, a sacred wheel of light appeared, holy and magnificent.
Baldr's exclusive divine artifact—the Wheel of Light!
He stretched out his finger.
The Wheel of Light suddenly rose, transforming into a blazing sun suspended in the sky.
Its endless radiance bathed the earth, driving away darkness and restoring light.
The proud and overwhelming divine power spilled out unchecked, proclaiming his arrival to the world.
At that moment, countless people, caught off guard by the sudden change, stared in shock at the 'sun' that had unexpectedly appeared in the night sky.
