Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 Can't Waste

Hiccup carefully treated Toothless's wounds, while the Terrible Terror, missing one of its horns, dared not move, simply prostrating itself on the ground, awaiting Hiccup's judgment.

Astrid slowly walked forward and placed the Dragon Slayer Sword beside Hiccup.

This action instantly sent shivers down the spines of the surrounding Dragons; they wanted to flee, but the previous battle had drained too much of their energy, making it impossible to fly.

Even if they could fly, they would eventually fall into the sea due to exhaustion and become food for the mermaids.

For mermaids with human bodies and fish tails, Dragon meat was an absolute delicacy, and it could even enhance their strength.

After Hiccup finished treating all of Toothless's wounds, he sat cross-legged beside Toothless, resting, as his own energy consumption was also significant.

Astrid approached Hiccup and asked, "Hiccup, are you alright?"

"Not dead yet!" Hiccup said concisely; it wasn't that he was intentionally cold, but rather too tired to speak.

At the same time, he was summarizing his combat experience, noting that while his power burst was sufficient, his stamina was still lacking.

If he encountered another battle, he might be at the mercy of his opponents halfway through.

Hiccup leaned against a rock and said to Toothless, "In a few days, there will be an even bigger battle to fight! The way we are now, we might not actually win!"

Toothless, with a proud tilt of its small black head, looked sideways at Hiccup, its gaze seemingly saying, "I am invincible, every Dragon will be defeated!"

Hiccup, however, was somewhat worried; although he would encounter Dragons and fight in the original story, it would never be as difficult as it was now.

This meant that the plot had already begun to deviate; the original story involved a Pyrrhic victory at the cost of one leg, and nearly all of Berk Island's Vikings were killed, with few warships remaining.

Their current combat strength struggled against even this small wave of Dragons; what they would face later were countless, densely packed Dragon Nests.

And finally, there was the Red Death, a Dragon King-level Dragon; a head-on confrontation was definitely unwinnable!

After the Dragon Nest in the original story was opened, although a shot showed the Red Death's minions scattering into the sky, subsequent shots showed the Vikings setting up defensive fortifications.

And they had already experienced a battle, which was sufficient to explain that those Dragons merely ascended and maneuvered before engaging in combat, awaiting the Red Death's appearance.

Therefore, the final battle would not only be against the Red Death but also an entire Dragon Nest of Dragons.

He only had one life, so he needed a detailed plan and to prepare weapons in advance, resolving the threat of the Dragon Nest before winter.

Toothless's injuries were mostly healed; it came over, still wanting to lick Hiccup.

Hiccup directly waved its head away and said, "We need to intensify training when we get back! We can't be idle like this anymore!"

Toothless looked sideways at Hiccup, seemingly proud of the victory in this battle, but that didn't mean it wouldn't obey Hiccup's commands.

Astrid walked over and squatted beside Hiccup, examining him from head to toe; seeing that he was unharmed, she finally relaxed considerably, then looked at Hiccup with great remorse and said, "It's all my fault! I didn't act in time!"

"Otherwise, Toothless wouldn't have been injured!"

Hiccup, however, hadn't even considered Astrid to be part of the battle; the reason he had her bring up the rear was purely out of fear that the other Dragons might seize the opportunity to escape.

Or for her to find an opportunity to run quickly, whether to report back or simply escape, as long as she didn't drag him down.

He hadn't expected Astrid to join the battle, which also relieved a lot of pressure on him, so Hiccup smiled and said, "If it weren't for you, the battle would probably have been even more difficult!"

Upon hearing Hiccup's affirmation, Astrid's heart blossomed with joy; she chuckled and leaned closer to Hiccup, saying, "Really?! You really think I helped you?!"

"To be honest, I've never seen you as brave as you are today!"

Hiccup smiled and said, "There's still a lot you haven't seen!"

Astrid's face flushed slightly as she asked, "Like what?"

Hiccup lightly coughed twice, then spoke to the Terrible Terror in Dragon Language, "Go get that basket of sea fish!"

Actually, Hiccup wanted to eat Dragon meat, but he was afraid of scaring Toothless; if the Dragon meat didn't taste good and also scared Toothless in the end, wouldn't that be a huge loss?

The Terrible Terror crawled to the wooden basket, lifted the bag, and brought the sea fish over.

Then, Hiccup cleaned the Dragon horn that the Terrible Terror had previously had cut off, directly skewered the sea fish onto it, found some dry firewood, and roasted the fish skewers.

Hiccup, seeing how convenient it was to make fire, immediately smiled and thought, "If a Dragon were to be in a wilderness survival situation, it would be too easy; they can hunt and make fire!"

Astrid looked at Hiccup with a bewildered expression, not knowing what he was saying, but in her eyes, Hiccup was so perfect that whatever he did made it difficult for her to look away.

After Hiccup recovered some strength, he walked directly towards the Four-Headed Dragon's corpse, emptying the iron bottle that had previously held the Timberjack Dragons' saliva.

Then he collected some of the Four-Headed Dragon's venom and blood for future use; this stuff was an excellent healing medicine.

It could make Dragon wounds heal at a visible rate; if used on humans, the effect would certainly be even better, but the containers were still too few.

At this moment, Toothless also seemed to have recovered some strength, and its injuries were mostly healed, as they were only superficial wounds after all.

It hopped and skipped to Hiccup, then presented the roasted fish it had cooked to Hiccup.

Astrid, as if vying for affection, also brought a roasted fish to Hiccup and said, "Here! Eat mine!"

Toothless immediately glared at Astrid, who snorted lightly, ignoring Toothless's gaze.

Hiccup said helplessly, "You two eat! I still need to think for a while!"

There was no choice but to say the same thing twice in different languages; after Toothless heard Hiccup's words, it turned and swung its tail, knocking Hiccup to the ground.

Hiccup didn't immediately get up after falling to the ground, because he had discovered something good.

"Hahaha! This is great! How could I have forgotten about this!" Hiccup said excitedly.

Toothless, meanwhile, thought it had just knocked Hiccup silly, but thinking was one thing; it didn't slow down its speed of eating the roasted fish at all.

Subsequently, Hiccup got up and walked towards the Four-Headed Dragon's previous nest, preparing to search for usable tools among the pile of white bones.
