Chapter 186 - Chapter 185: The Army of Hell Retreats Steadily

"A message from her?"

In the Kingdom of Heaven, the Archangel Gabriel gazed at the young angel before him, lifting a crystal sphere to eye level. This was a Memory Crystal—an artifact capable of recording and transmitting divine messages.

"Lord Gabriel," said the small angel respectfully, "Her Majesty the Queen asked me to inform you: Hela, the ruler of Helheim, intends to unite the gods and launch a war against the Nine Realms!"

"Their ultimate goal… may be his domain."

Angela—the messenger—spoke with trembling conviction. She did not truly understand what "the underworld" meant, nor did she grasp who Hades really was.

In this universe, there were two who bore that name—The Hades of the Olympian pantheon… and the true Lord of the Underworld, the god who reigned over death itself.

If the little angel knew what kind of being she was speaking of, she would have been terrified beyond measure.

Gabriel gave a faint, knowing smile."I understand. With that fragile body of yours, the Queen must have sent you because the Holy Lake chose you as its messenger. You've done well. Go and rest."

Angela bowed and disappeared into the divine light.

The moment she left, Gabriel raised his hand. Runes of golden light spun around him as he opened a celestial gate—a teleportation array leading straight into the territory of the underworld.

"Lord Radamanthys," Gabriel said upon arrival, "I bring news from the Kingdom of Angels."

Hell — Front Lines of the Hades Army

Lord Aiagos stood upon a ridge of molten rock, his gaze fixed on the distant infernal citadel—the royal city of Mephisto.

Once, this place had nearly been obliterated by Radamanthys and Minos during their past campaigns. At that time, even Lord Hades and the three great judges of the Underworld were far weaker than they are now.

Back then, Aaron, their current Hades, had chosen to withdraw, wary of the crimson-eyed power that had threatened to consume them all.

But now—The Army of Hades had returned!

Hell was a fractured realm, divided among countless demonic factions.Infernal lords and "God-Fathers" ruled over their territories in constant rivalry.

Only one name held authority over them all—Mephisto, the so-called King of Hell.

In truth, the highest title in Hell was Satan, but countless beings had fought for that throne over the ages.Even Mephisto himself had never dared to claim it outright.

Still, his influence was undeniable.Especially here—his domain lay perilously close to the border of the Underworld.

Aiagos knew that if Mephisto's citadel fell, Hell itself would bow to Hades.Once that happened, the Hades Army could march unchallenged across all infernal realms.

"By Lord Hades's command—move out!" Aiagos ordered.

Before withdrawing to pursue the ultimate enlightenment of his eighth sense, Aaron had entrusted Aiagos with the map of Hell and detailed plans for their advance.

Now, with his path clear, Aiagos led the Underworld's vanguard toward Mephisto's blazing capital.

Hell was vast and labyrinthine. The royal city of Mephisto, though seemingly near, was surrounded by a maze of spatial distortions.

As Aiagos soared ahead, hundreds of Specters followed—dark silhouettes gliding through the infernal air.

Unlike Athena's Saints, who required divine blessing to fly, many Specters of Hades possessed wings or spiritual energy that allowed them to soar freely between realms.

Through rivers of magma and mountains of burning iron they flew, until—

"Contact!" one shouted.

The first wave of enemies appeared—an unholy horde of demons and beasts.

Among the Hades Army, warriors such as Heavenly Punishment Star, Fallen Star, Earth Fork Star, and Earth Evil Star took the lead. They had been reassigned from the Underworld's elite squadrons to this campaign.

Aiagos nodded in satisfaction. "Show them the might of Hades."

In Hell, living beings were rare prey.Even the Sorcerer Supreme herself would be swarmed by countless infernal creatures if she set foot here.

The Hades Army even encountered monstrous Cerberi—three-headed hellhounds that mimicked the form of Lord Hades's own guardian beast.

Furious, the real Cerberus, the Underworld's black hound, tore through its twisted counterparts, ripping them apart with savage delight.

Hell giants, lesser demons, and beasts of flame—all fell in waves.Volcanoes erupted, magma split open the ground, and the air itself screamed.

The legions of Hell were shattered under the advance of Hades's black-armored warriors.

Aiagos didn't even need to intervene. He merely observed—His true concern was not the rabble, but the Lords of Hell watching from the shadows.

The lesser demons had no time to beg for mercy. They were obliterated instantly, their bodies dissolving into molten ash.

It was as if divine warriors were grinding monsters in a novice's realm—the difference in power was absurd.

From the borders of Hell's wastelands to the blazing inferno ahead, the Hades Army pressed forward like an unstoppable tide.

Finally, they reached it.

Aiagos raised his hand, and before them loomed the towering black citadel—the royal city of Mephisto.

Even from afar, the heat was unbearable.Mountains had melted into rivers of fire; the sky burned crimson. This was the Flame Hell, Mephisto's personal domain.

Mephisto, the Fire Demon, was known across countless universes. His intellect and power were second only to the gods themselves. His meddling hand could be found in almost every major event in the Marvel cosmos.

It was for that reason mortals called him Hell's Model Worker.

But this was his home—his throne.

And it burned hotter than any infernal realm, rivaling even the fiery depths of Hades's own hell.

Under the suffocating heat, space itself began to warp. The mountains groaned, the sky bled.

"Lord Aiagos! All demon armies within five hundred miles have been exterminated!" cried Valentine.

Moments later, Sylphid arrived."Within three hundred miles—no enemy remains!"

Then a black blur dove from the sky—Cerberus himself."Woof! Aiagos! Those mongrels are gone! How dare they make me—me—dirty my fangs on them!"

Aiagos chuckled softly. But suddenly—

"Wait…"

He fell silent, his gaze hardening as the air before him began to twist.A monstrous pressure rolled in from the distance—fiery and cruel.

"He's coming…" Aiagos whispered.

The heavens split apart in a roar of crimson. The earth quaked violently, magma exploding upward like blood.

From the heart of the inferno, a blazing tornado rose, and within it—

Mephisto emerged.

The true King of Hell had come to meet the Lord of the Underworld's army.
