The great serpent was dead.
At that moment, the legions of the Underworld erupted with renewed might. Their morale soared, and under Lord Aiagos's command, the armies of Hades surged forward, forcing the demonic hosts of Hell into retreat.
This battle—It shook not only Hell but also drew the attention of countless planes across the cosmos.
In the Dark Dimension, the instant the serpent fell, Dormammu watched through his World Mirror and saw the image of that dreaded being—Hades, Lord of the Underworld—manifest before him.
With the death of the serpent, Dormammu had no further desire to invade Earth.Defeating one Ancient One was troublesome enough; facing an entire group of beings on that level was far too costly, even for him.
"It really is you, Sorcerer Supreme…"
Dormammu's voice seethed with venom as he glared through the mirror at that bald-headed woman. Every attempt he had ever made to conquer Earth had been shattered by her hand.
From the body of the Ancient One, a green radiance pulsed—The power of the Eye of Agamotto, drawn from the Time Stone, one of the fabled Infinity Gems.
"Dormammu," she said coldly, her voice calm yet filled with divine authority,"I care nothing for your bargains with the devils of Hell. As long as I, the Ancient One, draw breath, you will never set foot on our plane!"
Dormammu's image rippled with fury."You won't live forever, sorcerer. When your time comes, I'll be there. Let's see who saves you then!"
With that, his oppressive aura faded, vanishing from Earth's skies. Humanity remained blissfully unaware of the crisis that had nearly consumed them.
The Sorcerer Supreme had once again fought in secret to shield the world from destruction—a truth even Thanos feared. It was because of her, the immortal guardian of Earth, that the Mad Titan dared not yet make his move.
As the dimensional rift sealed, the Ancient One finally exhaled, sitting down heavily. This confrontation with Dormammu had been one of the most grueling she had endured in centuries.
"If that boy, Aaron, hadn't unleashed the darkness inside him earlier," she murmured, "my soul might have been lost to the void."
A faint smile crossed her lips. "It seems the time has come to find a successor… I wonder where that surgeon named Stephen Strange might be now…"
Hell – Beyond Mephisto's Infernal Citadel
A hulking demon trudged through the burning gates, hefting a weapon larger than himself.
"My king! The army is ready! Shall we divide our forces and march on Earth as planned?"
"Idiot!!"
Before the demon could react, Mephisto struck him across the face with a vicious slap.
"March on Earth? You fool—do you even understand what's happening? The great serpent Kur is dead! Ragnarok has been undone!"
The Lord of Hell's snarl twisted into something like reluctant amusement. The fall of the World Serpent meant the prophecy of Ragnarök was no longer bound to fate.Thor's death would not come to pass.
With the serpent's demise, Asgard erupted in jubilation. The Nine Realms themselves rejoiced. Even the proud gods could not hide their relief.
For the mortals of Earth, their joy was simpler.Governments, heroes, and ordinary people alike all celebrated the same thing—They had survived.
The end of the world had come… and gone. And humanity still lived.
"Hmph. To think it ended so easily. That serpent Jörmungandr was nothing like the legend."
Far from Earth, in a distant realm hidden beyond sight, a host of angels spread their radiant wings.
This was the Tenth Realm—the Kingdom of Angels, severed long ago from the divine order of God.
Here, the ruler was no god, but a queen—Aldrif, the Angel Queen, who bore a deep and ancient hatred for Odin of Asgard.
And now, Odin's daughter stood before her.
Hela, Goddess of Death and ruler of Helheim—the resting place of gods.
"Queen Aldrif," Hela said with a smirk, "you know as well as I do what we desire. You want Odin dethroned as much as I do."
Aldrif leaned back on her throne, her expression unreadable."I do not deny it. But the Nine Realms are no easy foe, even for my armies."
Hela's lips curled in amusement. She raised her hand, and a glowing contract appeared, inscribed with divine sigils.
"Who said I rely only on Helheim?" she said softly. "Look closer."
Aldrif's eyes narrowed as she read the names etched upon it.Osiris. Mephisto. The Olympian Gods…
And there, unmistakably—Hades, Lord of the Underworld, had signed as well.
"So," Aldrif murmured, "even that coward Hades has joined your little pact."
Hela's smirk deepened as she tucked the contract away."Well then, Queen of Angels—what do you say? Once the Nine Realms fall, we'll redraw the map together. I only want Odin's head. The rest is yours."
Aldrif hesitated, then smiled."Very well. I accept."
She signed her name upon the infernal contract. The fate of the Nine Realms was sealed in that moment.
When Hela departed, Aldrif summoned a slender, wingless angel.
"Angela," she said softly, "I have a task for you."
The young angel bowed. "Your Majesty."
"Tell Gabriel and the others… the game our Lord has set in motion has already begun."
"Understood, Your Majesty."
Bathed in holy light, Angela vanished from the Kingdom of Angels.
