Just as Xiao Er slowly took another careful step backward toward the cave entrance, a small chubby finger suddenly pointed at him.
Xiao San's loud voice echoed through the cave like a trumpet. "Brother! Running!"
Xiao Er froze instantly. His body stiffened and his little tiger ears stood straight up as if lightning had struck him. Slowly, very slowly, he turned his head toward Xiao San.
Their eyes met. Xiao San's face looked bright and innocent, but Xiao Er's round green eyes were full of disbelief. For a moment, the entire cave fell into complete silence.
Then suddenly, a large shadow covered him from behind. Before Xiao Er could react, a big hand grabbed the back of his neck and lifted him easily into the air.
"Got you," Hu Yan said calmly.
Xiao Er dangled helplessly like a fluffy carrot, his four paws hanging uselessly. His brain completely stopped working as his body swayed in midair.
