Lawrence was feeling weaker day by day. He would eat the fruits available and eat rabbits on a succesful hunt day. He didn't like the taste of cooked rabbit meat but it was the only animal available not too far in the woods. Now rabbits were scarce too, probably ran away due to fear and the fruits didn't seem to fulfill his hunger. He tried his best to be full at all times, he needed the strength for himself and his unborn child growing in his womb. Being away from his bonded didn't help. His bond scar would pain at unseemly hours which he knew would be harmful for the baby. He needed to find a new place to stay, probably try to get a job somewhere, visit a healer that would help him cope.
Lawrence would try to come up with various convincingly strong stories about how anyone would accept him as a single bonded omega, separated from his alpha on a mutual understanding, a highly unlikely scenario which probably no one would believe. If he mentioned being a pregnant omega on the run, that would likely stir unwanted attention which he couldn't afford right now.
Lawrence would finish his daily routine very early in the morning before the four alphas arrived. Today was different which would change the future for him and probably dynasties to come.
June had a disturbed night. He decided to go for a jog early to clear his head before the everyday routine started. After the jog he went to the river, his usual place to bathe. The mornings were always avoided by the locals knowing the King would come so he expected no one to be present. When he saw a man with brownish bronze hair, lean figure with his body a bit rounded at the waist, cleaning clothes In the river, June was a bit surprised.
June undressed quietly and went into the river to avoid conversation with the man, no need for early morning platitudes with a stranger.
Lawrence however, was startled the minute he realized someone was in the vicinity but continued doing his work as quickly as possible ignoring the alpha. He was in a state of panic, trying to finish his work and leave quickly without suspicion as calmly as possible. Behind him, he heard a voice...
"Seriously June, I searched the whole ass palace, every freaking , I don't know, a thousand rooms, and you are here chilling out? I swear to God, if you weren't who you were I would strangle you to death"
June laughed, screaming on top of his voice: which part of 'Leave me the fuck alone' did you not understand.
June started walking back to the shore.
Eric laughed too, when he noticed a third unknown person stand up in panic, his back facing Eric.
Eric said politely: Good sir, no need to worry you can continue your work, just a friendly banter here, no need to worry.
Lawrence turned slowly, the small silver blade in his trembling hands, he points it at Eric and June, slowly backing away.
June's eyes widen: hey, no need to worry, we don't want to harm you, are you lost?
June tries to go closer, only to be pushed away by Eric.
Eric: he is holding a knife, my Lord. (facing Lawrence) Look, sir, we mean no harm, unless you want to be arrested for showing a knife to the King himself.
Lawrence stutters: th..the..Ki..king ....?
Eric loosing his patience: everyone knows he Is the king, jeez..what are you new here?
(Eric's eyes widen, weilds his sword) you don't belong to this pack do you? Who are you? Who sent you here?
Lawrence panics more: I, I , just stay away from me, stay away..
Eric moves forward, June stops him.
June: maybe he is lost, or sick, look at him, he is trembling, he doesn't look in good health.
Eric: he is swirling a knife.
June: he Is scared Eric. Let's just leave.
Eric: you can't be serious, what if he is a spy.
June looks at Lawrence: you may stay here as long as you like. No one will harm you. When you feel up to it, you can tell is your details so we can send you back home.
Lawrence just stares at June, nose flaring, trembling.
Eric: he is showing you mercy, you lucky bastard, bow down to him.
June: enough, let's just leave.
June drags Eric away.
Eric: what if he Is a spy or an assassin, no one carries a knife, especially silver blade,' A Silver Blade' pointing at the king, you know what that means!! Right!
June: I know, I know, he was just trying to defend himself, he didn't try to harm anyone.
Eric dumbfounded:Fine, whatever.
June goes back to the palace and Eric thinks if his younger brother is too soft and naive to be the king.
He sends a team to search around the riverbanks to find that man again. Lawrence was easy to find and was arrested immediately for treason. With this, the world blacked out for Lawrence once again.
