Five days passed since he had made a little home for himself near the river bank. The four alphas would come everyday in the morning to bathe and he would watch them carefully like a hawk. They didn't seem like brothers, thier features looked very different from one another. The blonde haired was the most muscular among then, his only goal seemed to get on the edge on the blue haired Alpha. The bruenette was clearly bored, used to this routine who would half heartedly try and stop the ongoing bickering only to end up increasing the intensity of it. The Silver haired Alpha looked most poised among the four. Lawrence felt a sense of sadness emanate from him even though he was smiling and laughing with the other three. They never noticed his presence to his relief. In the evenings there was more bustle. Few omegas, some with thier kids, would come to play around, laughing. He couldn't understand their freedom. He felt almost repulsed seeing them enjoy so unapologetically. There were times he would see Alphas with the Omegas as well, flirting around, wooing. It was almost disgusting, but he envied each one of them, something he couldn't comprehend, a sense of chaotic nature he hadn't seen. He wondered if the pack had a master, and if they did, he thought if he knew about these adventures of his subjects or if he approved them.
(The Royal Palace of the Crescent City Pack- Chamber of Queen Mother Elena)
Elena: Are you sure there is no one?
Michael: I have been in correspondence with all our ally packs. No of-age omegas your Highness. There is however..
Elena: However what? Why are you hesitating?
Michael: There are omegas, a few years older than the Lord but of good fertility who can bring prosper to this pack and...
Elena: Absolutely not. How dare you suggest such a thing.
Michael: Your Highness, you have been rejecting all Omega princessess that have come so far, with no valid reasoning..
I am afraid and Eric agrees as well that the allies might take this as an insult, further weakening our stance.
Elena snapped: you think I don't know that?!
Michael hesitant: Your Highness..
Elena standing up: I need the best Omega for June, a young omega, someone who can bear his powerful heirs, someone untouched. Can you not fulfill this one simple task for your Lord and your friend.
Michael gulped: Yes, of course your Highness.
This was absolutely absurd according to him. The demands were too high and the young Lord showed no interest whatsoever in his own bonding affairs. 'Let mother handle this, she knows the best' he would tell Michael. All Michael knew that he was loosing his mind over this.
There were ministers turning against June within his own pack. The allies knew this too. Rejecting their princess was only igniting heat between the packs and being the external affairs minister he prayed and hoped the right Luna would be found soon.
(At night- The King's Chamber)
June: will you stop sulking. Its not the end of the world.
Michael muttered: Yet..
Oscar: come on Mike, join us will you. Look, Eric finished half the food already.
Eric kicked Oscar with his leg under the table.
Oscar: Owww...what? I just stating facts, you food monster.
Eric with his mouth full: I need to eat, there is a war coming, I can feel it and I need all the strength as the Kings personal bodygaurd.
June: there is no war
Michael stood up, irritation in his voice: well there will be if your Lordship does not acquire his apparently magical hidden powers by your next birthday, which by the way, no one has ever heard of or seen in centuries. Guess what, The Queen Mother thinks her son is so precious that no omega is fit for him. If you would just be a tad bit serious about this My dear Lord of the Crescent City ( Michael gestures opening his arms widely) , maybe I would finally sleep peacefully, Eric might stop stress eating and Oscar might finally stop talking about Dragons and other outwordly nonsense to cope up. So why don't you get your act together and STOP BEING SO IGNORANT.
Stunned silence in the room, it was deafening. Michael was still heaving and Eric had stood up too afraid Michael might harm the King.
June: didn't know I was causing so much pain to my own friends.
Eric: don't pay attention to him. He is just stressed, that's all. Things will get better, right, Mike?
Eric stared at Micheal like he could bore into his skull. Michael left the room without another word.
Eric: I am sorry my Lord. You know him, and his dramatics.
June: he is right though isn't he.
Oscar: June we all know that if you worry about this, its only going to affect your powers ..
June slammed his fist on the table: Damn my powers! I don't even know if it even exsists in the first place. Stupid mark making everyone believe in stupid things.
Oscar: June, if you yourself don't believe in it, how can anyone else?
June: leave me alone.
Eric: My Lord.
June gritted his teeth: I said leave me alone. I want to be alone the next few days.
Eric: what! no..thats not going to help!
June: just, please leave before I order you into it.
June said defeated. Eric and Oscar left not knowing what else to say.
June looked around at his empty large room. It was getting tiring, the expectations, the looks everyone gave him. Since he could remember, everyone looked at him like he was their God. It felt uneasy. Now everyone looked at him with hope which was slightly wavering, even his friends were distancing from him, their duty coming first. He was not sure which one was worse. All he knew that he felt like an outsider in his own kingdom, waiting for a storm to come and consume him.
