Miranda was discharged from the hospital two hours later with painkillers and strict orders to rest. Nolan had somehow managed to get released at the same time, despite the doctor's recommendation that he stay overnight for observation.
Nolan's parents had called, concerned, but he insisted they stay home since they'd all be returning soon anyway.
"I'm driving," Collins announced firmly as they walked toward the parking area.
"Appreciate it, Collins, but Arthur's bringing a car," Nolan replied.
"Please tell me you're letting him drive because of your dislocated shoulder and pain medication," Collins pressed.
"I refused pain meds," Nolan stated matter-of-factly.
Miranda turned to him, incredulous. "You refused medication for a dislocated shoulder?"
"Pain medication dulls reflexes. Can't afford that right now."
"Typical stubborn behavior," Noelle muttered. "Isn't that why you have security in the first place?"
