The rise of the God of Death
Chapter 23: Beyond the Land of God
After Daimon took his leave, he set off toward the City of the East to seek permission to enter the next quarter. The journey was difficult—there was only one narrow path through dense forests and rocky terrain, forcing him to travel cautiously on foot.
As he moved forward, Daimon's mind raced with thoughts. "I've drawn a lot of attention already… I'm lucky he hasn't recognized me yet."
Nightfall came, and Daimon found shelter under a large ancient tree. Sleep took him, but his dreams were filled with visions of the second seal. To claim it, he knew he had to meet someone from his past life—someone tied deeply to his fate.
In his dream, Daimon saw the City of the North centuries ago, still under construction. He witnessed Adrien standing alongside the other three Absolute Gods, discussing the aftermath of the great war and the sacred art wielded by the God of Life.
He woke suddenly in the dead of night, a time when most were asleep. Taking advantage of the quiet, Daimon surged forward with lightning speed, pushing through the night until the City of the East rose before him at dawn.
The city was imposing—known as the strongest city in the Fourth Quarter and ranked among the top six most powerful factions across Omniverse 7. Its towering walls and bustling streets reflected centuries of power and prestige.
To avoid drawing attention, Daimon booked a modest room at a cheap inn. The next morning, he began asking around for information on how to obtain permission to enter the Third Quarter.
He learned that entry was granted only through a fierce competition, where the top five winners would be awarded passage. The tournament was set to begin in a week, meaning Daimon had little time to prepare and must register quickly if he wanted to secure his chance.
