Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 – He's a God?

"Grand Elder, is something wrong?" Nail asked.

"This young one named Ken… I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a great god in the future," the Grand Elder said with a smile.

"A god? He's a god?" Nail froze, completely stunned, his face full of shock.

Moori and the other Namekians looked toward the Grand Elder with curiosity.

"The unique energy fluctuation within him… if I'm not mistaken, that should be divine ki," the Grand Elder said thoughtfully.

"Could he be… that Super Saiyan God we've heard about?" Moori asked in surprise.

"Perhaps he'll go even farther," the Grand Elder replied with a gentle smile.

A moment of silence followed.

"After all, he saved Namek with ease. If not a true god, how many mortals could've done the same?" the Grand Elder sighed. "Even Porunga couldn't cleanse the negative energy plaguing our planet…"

Everyone present fell into quiet reflection.

Plop!

Delta suddenly dropped to his knees, bowing toward the stars in reverence, and proudly declared, "I once taught a god… how to speak Namekian!"

Grand Elder: "..."

Moori: "..."

All the Namekians silently wiped away their cold sweat.

In space.

Aboard Ken's spaceship.

Vegeta had remained silent the entire trip.

Only after about ten minutes of travel did he finally snap out of it. He turned to Ken and asked, "So, are you finally gonna tell me who the Legendary Super Saiyan is?"

"Let's not," Ken sighed. "It kinda stings. Think about it—no matter what, the two of us are probably the most gifted warriors of our generation, right? And yet… we're not the chosen ones."

Vegeta: "..."

Now that you put it like that, it really stings.

They were supposed to be the two most talented warriors of their generation.

But neither of them was the Legendary Super Saiyan.

Someone else was.

That was just… frustrating.

"Whatever." Vegeta grunted, giving up. "Maybe that guy's already dead."

Ken: "..."

Damn. That's cold.

"But now that I think about it," Vegeta continued, frowning as he rubbed his chin, "this whole Namek trip felt… surreal."

"How so?" Ken asked.

"Like a trap," Vegeta muttered.

"A trap?" Ken was puzzled.

"How do we even know that dragon was telling the truth?" Vegeta was clearly suspicious.

"Fake. All fake," Ken sighed.

"Hah! I knew it!" Vegeta barked. "You probably teamed up with those Namekians while I was unconscious and staged the whole thing just to mess with me, right?"

Ken stared at him in disbelief, eyes locked on Vegeta's young, serious face.

He didn't even know what to say anymore.

You've really got an imagination.

You think I have that much time to waste putting on a show with the Namekians?

"Got nothing to say, huh? Surprised?" Vegeta sneered, taking Ken's stunned silence as proof that he'd nailed it.

Ken: "..."

He was practically choking on his own disbelief.

"Then why did that dragon say the exact same things you did?" Vegeta narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "Explain that."

"…Fine, you win. You've got a real talent," Ken sighed, patting Vegeta on the shoulder.

"Hah! Knew it!" Vegeta smirked triumphantly, practically wagging his tail in the air. "I knew it! All that talk about 'a calm heart'—total nonsense!"

Ken had had enough. He turned and walked away.

But not before tossing back a parting shot: "You really are the definition of a hopeless case."

"'Hopeless case'? Who's that? Someone famous?" Vegeta blinked.

"Oh, definitely famous," Ken nodded.

"Then tell me, what's this hopeless guy's power level?" Vegeta asked, suddenly curious.

Ken: "..."

"I think I played a game once… his stats were something like 21 strength, 16 intelligence, 15 politics, 20 charm, 18 leadership… don't remember the rest," Ken mused.

Vegeta: "???"

What kind of nonsense is that?

"What the hell are you even talking about?" Vegeta was totally lost.

Ken didn't bother replying and kept walking toward his quarters.

Vegeta quickly ran after him.

"Hey! Don't walk away!" he called out.

"What is it now, Your Highness?" Ken sighed.

"Hmph! You said you'd take me to a 'very special planet'—and that was it?" Vegeta was clearly disappointed.

Ken could feel that proud, defiant attitude again and started wondering… maybe it was time to swap out his sidekick.

Who would be a better pick?

Ken thought it over, and then his eyes lit up.

Broly!

Of course!

Maybe I should go find Broly.

If I bring Broly onto my team, he might actually be easier to manage than Vegeta.

Plus, Broly could be a great training partner.

Vegeta's just too weak right now.

Besides, a prideful guy like Vegeta… he needs to experience the brutal beatdown from Kakarot and go through that whole love-hate rivalry thing before he can really grow.

"So, what's your plan next?" Ken suddenly asked.

"Hmph. It's boring hanging around you," Vegeta said bluntly. "I was hoping your healing ability could speed up my growth, but now I've decided—I'll train and get stronger on my own! I'm the most gifted warrior there is! I don't need anyone's help!"

"Then what if I take you to find Raditz and Nappa?" Ken offered.

"Fine. Better than your boring pacifism," Vegeta nodded. "I was hoping to fight a good battle on Namek, but you stopped me. I would've leveled that planet by now if you hadn't gotten in the way."

"Alright then, I'll take you to find them. Happy now?" Ken said.

"But our scouter's destroyed. How're you gonna locate them?" Vegeta asked.

"Our ship's navigation system is fried, but the communication module is still intact. We can contact them directly," Ken explained.

"You're right!" Vegeta's eyes lit up. He rushed forward and used the ship's communicator to establish contact with Raditz's team.

Soon, Raditz's voice came through the speaker.

"Huh? Prince Vegeta? We're on Planet Kuritt! The resources here are excellent—we just took it over. Should fetch a good price!" Raditz reported excitedly.
