The group entered the royal palace together.
Ken scanned the area and quickly sensed that everyone on the planet had already been wiped out by Nappa and Raditz.
This kind of thing was nothing new for Saiyans.
They'd often exterminate a planet's population and then sell the planet off.
Ken wasn't particularly bothered—he'd seen it too many times to care.
After all, he was cultivating Divine Ki, which emphasized a calm heart, not kindness.
A calm heart meant remaining emotionally unshaken, no matter how severe the situation.
Whether in the world of Dragon Ball or in his past life's world, the law of the jungle was always the same.
Besides, Ken was a little hungry.
The food on the spaceship had been awful, and he hadn't had good meat in a while.
So he sat down and enjoyed a hearty meal with Nappa and Vegeta.
…
Planet Vegeta.
"Ohohoho…"
Frieza let out a strange laugh as he raised a bright crimson Death Ball high in the air.
Surrounding him were his subordinates—the Ginyu Force, Zarbon, Dodoria, and others.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a blazing streak of light shot up from the surface, launching a flurry of punches and kicks at Frieza's underlings.
It was Bardock, father of Son Goku.
"FRIEZA!" Bardock shouted, gathering a massive energy blast in his hands and hurling it upward.
Frieza didn't even bother to look.
He simply pressed his right hand down.
The Death Ball dropped straight toward Bardock.
Boom!
Bardock's energy blast was instantly shattered by the descending sphere.
The massive ball of destruction continued falling.
Bardock's expression twisted in horror. In a desperate move, he tried to block the attack with his arms and knees.
But the instant Bardock's hands touched the sphere, a deathly chill surged through his body.
Shhkk…
In the blink of an eye, Bardock was completely obliterated—reduced to nothing.
The Death Ball continued plummeting.
Moments later, it struck Planet Vegeta's surface.
BOOOOOOM!
The entire planet erupted in a blinding explosion, bursting like a massive firework in the depths of space.
As Planet Vegeta was destroyed, Frieza let out a maniacal laugh.
"Lord Frieza, this calls for a celebration. Shall we perform a dance in your honor?" suggested Ginyu.
Frieza: "..."
…
Far away, on Planet Kuritt.
"What? Planet Vegeta's been destroyed?!" Raditz was dumbfounded when he received the news.
"Berryblue, is this for real?"
"I regret to inform you," Berryblue sighed, "that a massive meteor suddenly crashed into the planet. It broke it apart and triggered a core explosion… That's how it happened."
"Wasn't there any warning about the meteor?" Raditz exclaimed.
"I wouldn't know," Berryblue shook his head. "My condolences…"
With that, the call ended.
Raditz stared blankly for a moment before rushing to tell Vegeta.
"I guess I can't become King Vegeta now…" Vegeta said casually while munching on a chicken leg.
Raditz: "…"
Nappa: "…"
"Looks like the only Saiyans left… are the four of us," Raditz muttered, rubbing his chin as he gazed out the window.
Nappa remained silent.
Vegeta continued eating like nothing had happened.
Ken, already aware Planet Vegeta would be destroyed, wasn't surprised in the least.
"I just remembered—my mom once said I had a younger brother. I think our parents sent him off to some planet," Raditz said, scratching his head. After a brief pause, he turned to Vegeta. "You have a little brother too, don't you?"
"Hmph, that useless trash? Why bring him up?" Vegeta scoffed. Then he glanced at Raditz. "Your brother's name is Kakarot, right?"
"Yeah, Kakarot," Raditz nodded.
"Ken told me that your brother Kakarot will become my greatest rival," Vegeta suddenly grinned, barely suppressing laughter.
Raditz: "…"
"Hahahaha! That's the funniest thing I've heard all day!" Nappa burst out laughing for the first time in a while.
"You're kidding, right?" Raditz looked helpless. "My brother's a low-class warrior. There's no way he could ever be a match for Prince Vegeta."
"I'm full!" Ken said, patting his stomach and sighing.
The path to becoming an angel was long and challenging.
Ken knew that angels didn't need food to survive.
They only ate to enjoy the taste.
They also didn't need to sleep.
The fact that Ken still felt hunger proved that—at this point—he was still human and far from becoming a true god.
He still had a long road ahead of him.
But after nearly a month of dedicated training, his Divine ki Purity had improved again.
Now, his Divine ki purity had reached Level 8.
According to Ken's own calculations, once he reached Level 10, he might be able to unlock the Super Saiyan God transformation.
Of course, this was only theoretical—he'd have to test it in practice.
"Vegeta, you're really not planning to come with me anymore?" Ken asked as he stood up.
"Hmph, following you is boring. I want to travel to different planets and fight strong opponents—not learn some bird language!" Vegeta grumbled.
They spent ten whole days traveling to Namek… only for none of his wishes to be granted.
Ken, that scheming bastard, had obviously teamed up with the Namekians to trick him.
I get it now.
You want me to train in healing techniques!
But I, Prince Vegeta, refuse to learn that useless crap!
I'm a Saiyan prince! And that dragon had the nerve to say I'm not the legendary Super Saiyan?
Hmph! Who else could possibly qualify if not me?
That dragon was clearly full of nonsense.
Three wishes? What a joke.
I don't believe for a second it can even survive in outer space!
Vegeta rolled his eyes and ignored Ken completely.
