Chapter iv – Spirit Beasts of Douluo Continent

Spirit Beasts are living beings infused with spirit power, existing long before the rise of humans. They grow stronger by absorbing the essence of heaven and earth, hunting other creatures, and surviving countless life-or-death battles.

Classification by Age

1. Infant (0–10 years) – Weak and vulnerable; most are prey for other beasts.

2. Mature (10–100 years) – Basic combat ability; hunted by low-level Spirit Masters.

3. Thousand-Year (1,000–9,999 years) – Possess dangerous abilities; a challenge for Spirit Grandmasters and above.

4. Ten-Thousand-Year (10,000–99,999 years) – Intelligent, extremely dangerous, and often capable of speech.

5. Hundred-Thousand-Year (100,000+ years) – Legendary beings; each step they take shakes the balance of the continent.

6. Divine-Class / Mythical – Rare beyond rarity; often tied to gods or ancient legends, and may exist in unique realms beyond the mortal world.

Classification by Habitat & Element

1. Forest-type – Live in dense forests (e.g., Man-Faced Demon Spider, Blue Silver Emperor).

2. Mountain-type – Thrive in highlands and rocky terrains (e.g., Titan Giant Ape).

3. Aquatic-type – Live in lakes, rivers, and oceans (e.g., Deep Sea Demon Whale).

4. Sky-type – Dominate the skies (e.g., Swift Wind Hawk, Sky Dragon).

5. Special/Elemental-type – Embody fire, ice, light, darkness, or rare elements (e.g., Ice Jade Scorpion, Fire Phoenix).

Rare Bloodlines

Some spirit beasts are not only powerful but also unique in bloodline, passing down their traits to offspring or chosen successors:

1. Sacred Beasts – Recognized protectors of nature, often worshipped by other beasts.

2. Ancient Bloodline Beasts – Survivors of an older era with power exceeding their age classification.

3. Mutated Beasts – Born from abnormal conditions, granting unpredictable and often dangerous abilities.

Note: The choice of spirit beast is crucial to a Spirit Master's path. Compatibility with the Martial Soul is essential; the wrong choice can waste a ring slot or even damage the cultivator's foundation.
