Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 – Hunger for Power

Do-hyun's boots crunched over the cold, black soil of the Abyss as he fastened the last strap on his newly purchased E-grade armor set. Surprisingly, it felt like wearing nothing at all—no weight, no stiffness, no restriction. It moved with his body as naturally as a second skin.

His Current Coins: 15,200 glimmered faintly in the corner of his vision. His eyes shifted toward the shop menu again.

> [Shop]

Blade Fixer – Restores durability to 100%, adds +10 attack.

Price: 50,000 Coins

"Tch… still too far," Do-hyun muttered. That blade upgrade could change everything—faster kills, cleaner strikes—but it was still out of reach.

He closed the shop and gripped his weapon tighter, scanning the jagged terrain ahead. A pack of Shadow Horn Wolves prowled near the dark cliffs, their glowing eyes locked onto him.

The wolves lunged. Do-hyun sidestepped the first one, his weightless armor allowing him to move effortlessly, then slashed upward, splitting its chest. He spun to meet the second wolf mid-air, cleaving through its neck before landing lightly on his feet.

By the time the last wolf fell, his inventory was loaded with loot.

> [Shadow Claw x8]

[Shadow Horn x3]

[Abyssal Fur x12]

He opened the shop and tapped Sell.

> Sold for +7,800 Coins

Current Coins: 23,000

Still not enough for the Blade Fixer, but the gap was closing fast. A small smirk crossed his face.

"Just 27,000 more…" he whispered, already scanning for his next hunt.

Do-hyun's boots crunched lightly against the forest floor as he moved deeper into the hunting grounds.

I'll need to grind harder.

Then, he noticed a faint icon blinking in the corner of his status window—Skill: Shadow Clone (Lv.1).

Do-hyun tested it. His shadow rippled on the ground, and from it rose a perfect copy of himself—silent, cold-eyed, moving with the same deadly precision. He gave it a nod, and the clone slipped away, scouting ahead.

The rest of the hunt was efficient, almost surgical. Wolves, shadow foxes, and even a rare Nightfang Tiger fell to coordinated strikes from both man and clone. By the time the sun dipped low, his coin pouch had grown heavy.

Among the loot, he found something unusual—a long, dark blade with a faint silver edge, still humming faintly with mana. It felt alive in his grip, balanced and sharp. The system identified it: "Lupine Fang" (C-Grade).

"Huh, a grade C dagger? This wasn't bad at all."Do-hyun smirked faintly."Better than my current one… but if I can fix it and merge the two."

He slung the new weapon over his shoulder, mind already calculating his next hunt. Fifty thousand coins didn't seem so far away anymore.
