Green body fluid and shattered shell fragments sprayed forward in a violent fan-shaped blast, instantly wiping out every enemy within dozens of meters in front of Saitama. Even the park's wall behind them was blown open, leaving a massive breach.
But the aircraft in the sky were still continuously dropping fresh insects. The entire city had fallen into chaos and seas of fire.
Saitama stared at the endless swarm pouring in and rubbed his smooth chin.
"Looks like… I'll have to get just a tiny bit serious."
Saitama stood amid the park's ruins. Around him were mountains of insect carcasses. Thick green slime had nearly pooled into little streams, giving off an indescribably fishy, foul stench.
He was like a tireless lawnmower—any bug that dared come close was smashed into dust with a casual hit. Sometimes it was a punch. Sometimes a kick. Sometimes even just breathing out a little heavier was enough to blow a charging cluster of insects away.
But there were simply too many of them.
They were endless, flooding in from every corner of the city. They didn't care about losses. Driven purely by instinct, they only destroyed and devoured.
The moment he cleared one wave, another immediately filled the gap. It wasn't hard for him to deal with, but the monotony and the fact that everything was splattering him with disgusting filth was starting to feel annoying.
"Tch… this is never going to end."
As he muttered, he casually swatted a jumping bug that tried to ambush him from the side, slamming it into the ground like a fly.
"Am I supposed to clean every single bug in the whole city? How long would that take… the supermarket sale's about to start."
Just as he considered jumping up and knocking the "bug rain" aircraft out of the sky
A dazzling trail of exhaust cut through the smoke-filled heavens. Along with the familiar roar of thrusters, a gold-and-red, flashy figure came streaking in.
Whoosh—BOOM!
It was Iron Man.
He hovered slightly above and to the side of Saitama. His faceplate flipped open, revealing a face that looked anxious, yet still composed.
"Hey, Saitama! This doesn't look too good."
"Oh, it's Tony." Saitama looked up to greet him, not stopping his movements at all. He casually threw a backhand punch, smashing the head of a giant beetle trying to approach from behind and twisting it a full three hundred and sixty degrees.
"I analyzed their biological signals," Tony spoke rapidly, raising an arm as the repulsor in his palm began gathering a blinding energy glow. "These aren't independent organisms. They're worker units controlled by a central hive mind. If we don't take out the hive, we'll get worn down by these things until we're dead!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a scorching pulse beam blasted out, detonating into a massive fireball inside the swarm surging in from Saitama's side, instantly clearing a wide area.
"A hive?" Saitama blinked. "Where is it?"
"My armor detected the strongest signal source coming from the Third Industrial District in the east—inside an abandoned large warehouse!" Tony pointed eastward. "That's where the 'queen' commanding these bugs has to be! I need to stay here and help ground units evacuate civilians and clean up the small fry. The hive is on you, buddy! Only your strength can guarantee we end this fast!"
Tony hadn't even fully finished
Saitama already had the only key information he needed.
A location.
"Got it. A warehouse, right."
