Punches as dense as raindrops each one carrying terrifying power—hammered with pinpoint accuracy into the chest area that kept getting exposed. Every time a fist landed, huge sheets of rocky armor shattered into fragments and sprayed outward, revealing the inner structure more and more clearly.
Very soon, amid the flying rubble and the wildly surging green flames, a violently flickering, pulsing green core about the size of a car—was laid bare. It seemed to be formed from extremely compressed, bizarre energy. Twisted faces and symbols kept surfacing across its exterior, and it radiated an intensely nauseating aura.
"Now! Hit its core!" Fury's steady yet urgent voice came through the encrypted channel, reaching every Avenger at the same time.
No more words were needed.
Saitama stopped his rapid barrage. He hopped back half a step, drew in a bit of strength, fixed his eyes on the crazily flashing core that was trying to squeeze out its final energy in a desperate struggle—and then sprang up, his right fist pulled to his waist as all power condensed into a single point.
"Normal Punch."
His fist shot out, looking plain and unremarkable as it pressed straight into the center of that green energy core.
BOOOOOM——!!!
A roar far more violent and muffled than any prior collision exploded across the vacuum. The green core couldn't withstand that ultimate force and shattered instantly, bursting into countless tiny specks of light and energy fragments that sprayed in every direction before rapidly being annihilated in the void.
With the core destroyed, the massive rock amalgam seemed to have all its strength ripped away in an instant. The countless stones that made up its body lost the invisible energy binding them together, collapsing with a thunderous crash—completely reduced to a real, lifeless mountain of debris piled across the lunar surface. The green flames in the cracks also went out entirely.
"Finally… it's done…" War Machine walked over from his aircraft and let out a breath.
But before his words fully fell, a faint rustling suddenly came from certain gaps within that enormous pile of rubble. In the next moment, dozens—then even over a hundred—tiny rock creatures, each only about the size of a fist, scurried out from the wreckage. Their bodies were made of small stones, and their eyes burned with the same green glow.
They were unbelievably fast—like a swarm of startled cockroaches—splitting up in every direction and sprinting across the moon, as if trying to escape the scene… or searching for something new to parasitize and merge with…
"More stragglers?!" Captain America raised his shield.
"Leave it to us!" a crisp female voice rang out.
The next second, a tiny figure—accompanied by a buzzing flight sound—shot straight into the swarm. It was Wasp! She shrank down to insect size, darting through the rock creatures with nimble precision, firing micro pulse beams that popped them one after another. At the same time, Ant-Man, Scott, slammed his controller—his body instantly swelling into a giant. He lifted an enormous foot and came down like he was stomping whack-a-moles, clearing a huge area in a single step and flattening countless little rock creatures into the lunar dust.
Saitama landed lightly back on the ground. Watching the battlefield turn "lively" again, with tiny rock creatures scampering everywhere, he tilted his head.
"There are still some left?" There was a hint of surprise in his tone.
He lifted his foot and started walking forward as if casually taking a stroll. With every step he placed down, a few rock creatures that tried to slip past under him were crushed perfectly, letting out faint little "pfft" cracking sounds as they were ground into powder and disappeared into the moon's dust.
