Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Uchiha Kindergarten

Before answering, Uchiha Yato posed a counter-question to everyone.

"If we teach them Ninjutsu, what about Hidden Leaf's reward system?"

This reminded everyone that they lived in Hidden Leaf Village. If they took actions that overlapped with the village's responsibilities, it could easily lead to misunderstandings about the Uchiha Clan's intentions.

Uchiha Kei asked, "So we're just going to ignore the civilian ninjas?"

At this point, the Great Elder proposed a solution: "We can't teach them Ninjutsu, but we can discuss insights and experiences about Ninjutsu among ourselves."

Uchiha Yato was very pleased that someone had joined the conversation.

Having more Uchiha members participate would make the discussion more well-rounded. If everything was decided solely by him, outsiders might suspect Uchiha Yato of attempting to seize power.

Such behavior would be detrimental in any organization. Fortunately, the Uchiha Clan was currently highly united internally, with no such power struggles.

Uchiha Yato continued the Great Elder's point: "Our Uchiha Clan is renowned for our Fire Release Ninjutsu, but that doesn't mean we have to teach it to them."

"We can exchange insights or realizations about using Fire Release techniques."

This perspective enlightened the Jonin below. They could improve themselves while also fostering better relations with others.

Several more ninjas raised questions afterward.

Then, even the Second Elder and others from the militant faction joined in, gradually providing answers.

Now, when a question was raised, it wasn't just the elders, Yato, or the clan leader who responded.

Jonin could also raise their hands and speak enthusiastically—this was the atmosphere Uchiha Yato wanted to see.

The final summary naturally fell to Clan Leader Uchiha Kei.

Uchiha Kei declared, "Then, we'll rename Training Hall No. 2 as Uchiha Kindergarten."

"Additionally, each Jonin serving as an instructor will receive 3,000 ryo at the end."

"The required Ninjutsu will only be exchangeable after the children complete certain tasks."

"Are there any issues with this, everyone?"

After he finished speaking, for the first time ever, all Uchiha members unanimously agreed.

Regardless of faction, they were all Uchiha, and their common goal was the prosperity of their clan.

This approach of nurturing the next generation to strengthen the Uchiha Clan's unity became even more outstanding with everyone's participation in refining it.

Finally, Uchiha Yato raised one last question.

"Now, I'd like to ask all of you—how do you plan to convince these children to willingly participate in Uchiha Kindergarten?"

The Great Elder and Uchiha Kei immediately understood what Uchiha Yato meant. They had no intention of speaking, for they knew all too well the endless tricks up Uchiha Yato's sleeve—after all, he had once been the undisputed king of the Hidden Leaf's children.

All he needed was their collective stance, and then he could openly begin his "reorganization" of these kids.

Realizing this, the Great Elder and Uchiha Kei simultaneously pitied the young Uchiha saplings, who were about to endure a brutal storm.

The most hot-tempered Second Elder cut straight to the chase: "We know you're full of schemes—just spit it out already."

Uchiha Yato flashed his "harmless" grin.

"The method stays with me," he said. "What I need now is your authorization."

"I'm aware that the children of every Jonin here meet the training requirements for Uchiha Kindergarten. I wouldn't want you tipping them off."

"So this isn't a discussion. It's a notification—and a request for permission."

Hearing this, the Great Elder and Uchiha Kei remained expressionless.

Typical of that little troublemaker, they thought.

Uchiha Kei laid down the rules: "No injuries or disabilities."

"No using those illusions you've developed on them."

"No public humiliation in any setting."

After scanning the Jonin present, he added one final condition.

"You have my authorization—but if issues arise later, we'll revisit this. For now, that's all."

With his mandate secured, Uchiha Yato bared his teeth in a grin and strode out of Nanga Shrine.

Once he left, Uchiha Kei and the other Jonin turned to critical matters, including detailed plans to prevent Yato from "tormenting" the Uchiha children.

Their conclusion was simple: someone must supervise whenever Uchiha Yato was on duty.

And so, this unfortunate task fell to our dear Uchiha Ren.

Uchiha Ren was thrilled. First, he'd taken the blame for summoning Yato on the clan leader's orders. Then, he'd spent six days bunking with two grown men while handling Military Police Force duties. Now, this long-term assignment? He was exhausted.

But under the "concerned" pressure of the elders and the clan leader, he reluctantly agreed.

That night, at the Great Elder's home.

Uchiha Yato was playing with Uchiha Shisui.

Watching them, the Great Elder felt warmth in his heart.

These two boys had grown up under his care, and such peaceful moments were truly precious.

"Shisui," Yato asked, "do you want to go to school and make more friends?"

Pondering the question, Shisui replied, "Is it fun? The Great Elder works hard every day. I want to stay with him."

Shisui was a blank canvas now, his life's colors to be painted by Uchiha Yato.

In the original timeline, at seventeen, Shisui had his eyes stolen by Danzō. Burdened by regret, disillusionment with the Hokage's inner circle, and one final hope for his clan, he'd leaped into Nanga River.

But here, that tragedy would never unfold.

"Fun isn't for me to decide," Yato said. "You should see for yourself.""The elder is usually not at home during the day. When you're a bit older, you can move around more too."

The elder, overhearing their conversation, chimed in, "Shisui, Yato is right."

"Some things may seem good to us, but they might not necessarily be good for you."

"So you shouldn't blindly follow our arrangements. You need to think for yourself."

At this point, Shisui successfully entered contemplation mode.

Whether now or in the original story, Shisui was always a child who excelled at deep thinking.

It was precisely his contemplation and his anxiety about the Uchiha Clan's future that awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan—the same spark that ultimately led to his tragic fate.

This isn't to say such thinking is inherently bad, only that under those circumstances, it led to unfortunate results.

Seeing Uchiha Yato deliberately guiding Shisui toward independent thought rather than blind trust impressed the elder greatly.

This was critically important in the elder's eyes, given the significance of the Uchiha Clan's Bloodline Limit and how organ-based kekkei genkai could be stolen.

The elder understood all too well that a mindless tool was a pitiful existence.

Thus both men sought to guide Uchiha Shisui's thoughts, hoping he would forge his own path.

This marked the beginning of Shisui making his own choices.

After brief reflection, Shisui slowly responded, "You're right. I'd like to see what other Uchiha are like too."

Yato then corrected him: "Not just Uchiha."

"We live in Hidden Leaf Village. Here, there aren't only Uchiha but many others."

"So you must listen and observe widely. Only through comprehensive understanding can you truly enjoy life in Hidden Leaf."

After final philosophical guidance from the elder, they decided Shisui would first attend Uchiha Kindergarten.

Meanwhile, Uchiha Yato was meticulously planning a "storm" concerning Uchiha children
