Chapter 54 - Chapter 53: Cybernetics VS Cosmic Energy

Droid and I roared as we charged each other. Both of us are drawing both fists back. Huh, deja vu? Anyways, once our fists collided, a large shockwave powerful enough to launch both of us back. I managed to recover just in time before I hit the water. As for Droid, he backflips before using the sand to stop his momentum.

As soon as he stopped himself, he charged again, forcing me to duck from the right haymaker. Before I could counter, Droid's knee crashed into my chin, making me look up. It hurt, it didn't just hurt, I could see droplets of blood that were pushed to the air from the blow, it was my blood. Already, I haven't landed a single hit! Droid did a frontflip, again, so he could spin around, accelerating, so he could do more damage to me, by bringing his heel to slam it to my face.

The very blow sends me crashing to the blue waves below. I could see a trail of red mist moving away. I was stunned; that really hurt. I forced my body as the Droid followed me to the water, throwing several shots. I was forced to shell up to mitigate the damage. This freaking guy is relentless!

I fired my optic blast at him, and he barely blocked it with his hand, but I didn't use it to damage him; rather, it was a distraction. I drew back my fist, and once he stopped shielding his face, my powerful blow sent him out of the water and into the air. I followed him, where I grabbed his arm to stop his momentum and pulled him down to my cosmic-enhanced fist, which launched him higher into the air. I was about to chase him again, but Gavin's voice suddenly called out.

"Move!"

And I did what I was told and just in time, because Droid's arm detached, forming a fist and nearly hit me. The rocket arm flew across the water and flew back to its owner. Droid raises his arm that shot out of his hand, and just in time, his arm flies back, returning to its place automatically. I took a deep breath, feeling a little rattled from his blows. No one was able to hit me that hard, not even Atlas abusing the serum.

"You're fighting Droid now, oh crap. He's probably the most dangerous one in the New World Order, except for Arc. This guy is a beast!" Jason said.

I heard Gavin grunt in agreement. "Yeah, but it seems he's gotten stronger too. Either with more advanced upgrades or he injected himself with the Emperor Serum, after all, that drug is supposed to be used for people like Arc or Droid since they don't have to worry about their muscles tearing or their heart exploding."

Gavin explains. Which makes me click my tongue, geez, no wonder he hit so damned hard. My SEE Goggles visor was cracked, not enough to mess up my vision, but still annoying. I touched my nose and looked away, seeing a faint red mark. I took a deep breath and glared at the droid.

"Wow, you like beating kids? You'd be a terrible dad, dude."

I tried to taunt him to come at me more aggressively so I could pull out a counter, only for him to shake his head, more annoyed than mad. Granted, it wasn't the best insult I could come up with, but my brain is still rattled from that metal heel planting on my face.

"Please, you're not a normal child. Otherwise, you would have been dead."

He's got a point there.

"I'm going to give you a chance, which I usually don't give, but killing kids leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Leave or I'll make sure you regret setting foot in this country."

I let out a fake snort. "Yeah, no. Why don't you tell your boss to fight me one-on-one instead of sending his henchman to fight? Trust me, you don't want this."

I sounded confident, but my heart was racing. I can feel it in his eyes; he wanted this. He looked at me like I was prey. I can feel sweat covering my body as his bloodlust suffocates me.

"Brat, I'm more than just a hencheman, let me show you-"

"Wait!"

This made him pause; if he had eyebrows, he would be raising them in confusion. I slowly raised my hands and surrendered.

"Look, okay, I'll leave. I can't beat Arc or you-"

Suddenly, I swiped the air, creating a Cleave Breaker, sensing something was wrong, Droid brought his hands up. The invisible air slicer collided with Droid's metal frame, creating sparks. I use this momentary distraction to land a haymaker to his abdomen. I then launched several jabs to the stomach before zooming to his back to avoid a kick. I cocked my fist together, and my visor opened.

"Shotgun Breaker!"

The powerful blow hits, sending it back to the ocean. There was a huge splash from his body colliding with the water. I let out a deep breath. I didn't think that would work.

"Take that, sucker!"

"Nice one, but keep your guard up. Right now, Droid is the only one close to your power; the only difference is that he doesn't suffer from CE depletion. Be careful and don't let him hit you! Use your small size."

I grunt, waiting for him to get back up. My Mind's Eye, dealing with the sea, is a bit weird. I can pick up silhouettes, though they are wobbly, and it's harder to tell what they're doing the further they are away from me. Suddenly, I moved back just before a large blue beam nearly hit me.

"Crackers! What the f-!?"

I was interrupted again once another blue beam nearly hit me, but once again I dodged, and I could feel it singe my suit. I looked at the beam as it faded in the air.

"Are we spamming now-!?"

Again, I was interrupted when I realized I no longer felt the Droid's silhouette below the ocean, but I did feel someone coming up behind me. I turned around, but it was too late. A powerful hook slammed into my jaw, making me see stars from the pain. I was launched back, but Droid grabbed my leg before I could go any further. He pulled me and roughly grabbed my hair before slamming his fist into my ribs and abdomen. After the fifth blow, I had enough and surrounded my body with red lightning, which hit him, making him stunned for a moment before I punched him in the face, hard. He moves back, gaining distance, his metal head crack from my blow.

I nursed my jaw only to find it broken.

"Yu, break my joe!" Only a second later, my healing factor kicked in and was repaired.

"You're going to pay for that. I'll send your metal parts back to Dorothy!"

Droid gestured to come to him. "Then do it."

I swallowed a lump in my throat before heating up my eyes. My visor opened to launch my optic blast at him, but he countered by putting his arms next to each other, opening up his malm to reveal a hole in the middle. Blue sparks danced around before two twin blue beams clashed with my red ones. The two energies collided, the two beams trying to overpower each other. I grit my teeth; he's actually pushing my beams back.

None of us is gaining the advantage. Even when I pumped more juice into my blast, the blue beam faltered slightly before Droid put in more juice to push mine back.

"Red, stop trying to match him, you're just wasting energy. Just get out of the beam and hit him!"

I agreed, I wasn't going anywhere, trying to match his beam with mine. I could see my CE dropping with each second, and so I stopped firing and immediately ducked down to avoid the blue beams. Before I zoomed to Droid, who didn't even notice I stopped clashing beams with him, I threw an uppercut, which stopped him from shooting his lasers and sent him up into the air. He recovered quickly and tried to shoot at me with blue beams, but I started to fly around.

He followed me, trying to hit me with his blast, while I did the same. It was no longer a brawl but an aerial dogfight. While nobody landed any other attacks, Droid was clearly more comfortable fighting, while this is my first time fighting in the air like this. I moved a little slower and moved into a more predictable way to bait him. He took it, Droid stopped firing at me and instead tried to catch up to me to land some melee attacks.

But I instantly stopped moving and went in the opposite direction, surprising him. He didn't press the brake quickly enough as his body dove at my haymaker, which landed square in the face. That stunned him, allowing me to throw multiple straight punches to his torso. But I was quickly punished for my aggressive attack with a hook I didn't see. It hurt, though I forced my body to move forward by throwing a haymaker, which made him fly backwards, only for the visor to open to hit him with an optic blast.

He grunts loudly as my laser hits him, pushing his body back. I didn't give him the chance to recover as I dove in, landing a powerful dropkick to the torso, which made him fly across the ocean before landing on the sandy beach where we first started. I took multiple deep breaths. This guy was tough; not even Atlas and Arc were able to push me this hard. Heck, he might be even more dangerous than the SV3!

[CE : 30%]

Drat, I got up soon. Otherwise, my hits won't affect him at all.

"Oh, crap!" Jason suddenly shouts.

"Jason, what's wrong!?" Said Gavin

"It, Arc, he's coming this way! He's going to where Droid and the kid are having a battle as I speak!"

"What!?"

More bad news! I'm already having so much trouble dealing with Droid, but now Arc is coming, so they could gang up on me!? No way, I can't beat both of them!

"I have some armoured and weaponized drones nearby to buy you time. At best, I can stall him for seven minutes or less. Make sure you beat Droid in that time span! Good luck!"

Again, WHAT!? Beat a dude who could physically contest with me, in seven minutes!? That's impossible, no way I have enough power! My eyes look at the core on the sand, and nearby, I hit Droid too. If Arc were to arrive here, he would either take the core with him while I'm busy fighting Droid or join him in attacking me.

I see a bloodcurdling roar even when I'm a good distance away. Droid rose up, his crimson eyes glowing with fury. Great, he's pissed, and I have a guy who likes whipping people coming to me. Things aren't ideal, but no use complaining. I just have to beat Droid before Arc arrives. I grabbed a chocolate bar from my utility belt and started to eat as the Droid charged at me, creating a sonic boom behind him.

I have to end this quickly!
