Chapter 3: The Six Aces of Heavenly Dou.
Su Yuntao and Li Tianyi arrived exhausted in Notting City, near the village, and entered the central Wuhun Sub-Hall, a higher level than the Wuhun Branch Hall.
"Hey, isn't that Brother Yuntao?" a high-pitched voice called from the side of the hall.
Li Tianyi tilted his head to see a young man with a pointed chin and monkey-like features approaching, leading a child of about five or six years old.
"What? Have you found a promising child?" Su Yuntao asked stiffly, looking at the monkey-like youth.
"Haha, of course!" The monkey-cheeked young man raised his lips, stroking the head of the boy beside him and saying proudly, "Xiao Peng, tell them what spirit you've awakened."
Xiao Peng's eyes gleamed with confidence, and he raised his chin and shouted, "Demon Peng Bird, a flying beast spirit, with innate spirit power level seven."
Su Yuntao said playfully, "So you're here to show off to me?"
The monkey-cheeked young man didn't see the look he was looking for. "How can that be called showing off? I just randomly spotted a promising youngster with the potential to cultivate to level seventieth Battle Spirit Saint, and I wanted to share my joy with you."
"Haha!" Su Yuntao sneered.
Huh? Aren't you envious? The monkey-cheeked young man began to roar inwardly. You know, anyone who discovers such a promising youngster would be rewarded handsomely, and promotions and raises were possible.
He began to notice the boy standing next to Su Yuntao. He had a cold look on his face, which was his first impression. Then the boy's gray tail caught his eye.
The monkey-cheeked young man suddenly laughed, pointed at Li Tianyi and said contemptuously: "Hahaha, I was wondering why you weren't envious, it turns out you found a little monster with a long tail!"
Li Tianyi kept a cold face and didn't show any expression. He was used to sarcasm and had become immune to these old-fashioned lines. In fact, he was not in the mood to bother with these brainless trolls.
"Gong Yin, show some respect!" Su Yuntao said angrily, thinking to himself, you can insult me, but you absolutely can't insult my golden thigh!
Seeing that Su Yuntao finally had a change of mood, the monkey-cheeked Gong Yin immediately got the message and shrilled: "Could it be that our great Soul Master Su was afraid of returning empty-handed and just found a little monster to make up the number?"
"Gong--"
"Yin!"
Su Yuntao was really angry and instantly summoned his Lone Wolf Martial Soul. His body began to transform into a wolf in the green light.
"Oh, I guessed it right, so you're so angry you're ready to fight?" Gong Yin sneered disdainfully, "You'd better save your breath. A force-attack spirit master wants to fight a control-type spirit master like me?"
Su Yuntao was about to bite the bullet when Li Tianyi patted his waist and shook his head.
Li Tianyi still had some good feelings for Su Yuntao; after all, he had previously lent him a bag of money without hesitation, so he didn't want to see him rush in and suffer a loss. Control-type spirits of the same level were indeed a perfect counter to force-attack spirits.
Su Yuntao glanced at Li Tianyi and immediately extinguished his spirit power. In reality, he was just pretending, trying to win Li Tianyi's favor. Otherwise, if he really wanted to retaliate and have Li Tianyi unleash his Seven Killing Sword spirit, wouldn't that be even more effective?
"Bah, two spineless guys!" Gong Yin spat softly, turning away with a lack of interest.
Xiaopeng also rolled his eyes at Li Tianyi twice and walked away with his nose in the air.
Li Tianyi shook his head with a cold expression. This was the saying, "If you keep company with bad people, they'll corrupt you."
"Damn, are all the little brats so arrogant these days?" Su Yuntao instantly seized the opportunity to speak up and defend Li Tianyi, hoping to win his favor.
Seeing Li Tianyi, who remained unfazed by praise or criticism, Su Yuntao couldn't help but doubt his own acting skills. He then added angrily, "Brother Li, just one word from you and I'll go over and teach him a lesson. I'll turn that Xiaopeng into Xiaopeng."
Li Tianyi was speechless. He had thought this guy was nice just now, but now he looked more and more fak. Su Yuntao couldn't understand. It wasn't that his acting was bad, but that his acting was a bit too much.
The environment Li Tianyi had grown up in had destined him to have an icy aura that kept people at a distance, and he would never easily reveal his emotions.
Su Yuntao seemed to wipe away tears, reluctantly saying, "Brother, I've almost dropped you off here. Someone should be taking you to the higher-level Spirit Hall soon."
Come on, it feels like we've only met for a day, and we're already so close? Even Li Tianyi, known for his aloof personality, couldn't handle the awkwardness of this moment; goosebumps were rising.
"Who dares to trespass into the Spirit Hall?" a guard suddenly shouted from outside the hall.
This roar instantly alarmed everyone inside. You have to know that while the Spirit Hall was a neutral organization, its influence spanned the entire continent, far surpassing that of the Tiandou and Xingluo empires, as well as the so-called Upper Three Sects. How could anyone dare to cause trouble here?
"Wait here for me!" Su Yuntao instructed, then filed out with the other deacons, rushing towards the hall entrance.
"Awooo!"
A tiger's roar echoed from deep within the hall. Li Tianyi felt a flash of black light flash before his eyes, carrying a powerful aura, instantly surpassing everyone and reaching the door.
Li Tianyi was wondering. He had never heard of anyone in the world daring to cause trouble in the Spirit Hall. Even if this was just a sub-hall, wouldn't that be a slap in the face?
Unable to suppress his curiosity, he quietly moved to the hall entrance.
There, he saw a standoff between the two sides. The Spirit Hall's leader was a middle-aged man transformed into a tiger. Five distinct halos rose from his feet, swirling around him.
Li Tianyi habitually touched his nose and began to analyze. The Black Tiger Spirit, with a War Spirit King above level 50, didn't have the best soul ring ratio, so it looked average. However, this strength was more than enough to be the Hall Master here.
Standing before the Spirit Hall deacons stood an elderly man, his spotless white robes and neatly combed white hair imbued with the air of an immortal, possessing a wielding swordsmanship.
Li Tianyi, upon seeing him, was instantly seized with a suspicion. His mind buzzed, and he instinctively raised his left hand, then lowered it again.
The Spirit Hall Master, Jatu, now faced the elderly man, his expression grim. Though the man before him appeared calm and motionless, he felt a sense of unease. Even with his spirit rings fully activated, he felt insecure.
The old man, observing the men, looked on indifferently. In the blink of an eye, a token materialized in his hand, and with a flick of his fingers, it flew straight towards Jatu.
Jatu, assuming he had launched an attack, attempted to dodge, but was too late. As if pre-programmed, the token landed squarely in Jatu's hand.
Seeing himself unharmed, Jiatu instinctively glanced at the token in his hand. His pupils suddenly shrank, and he exclaimed in surprise, "The Six Heavenly Dou Aces?"
Six mysterious images were engraved on the token: a sword, a hammer, a crown, a fragmented humanoid figure, a dragon, and a chrysanthemum.
Jiatu hurriedly bowed, not daring to raise his head. His words were filled with fear and humility, "I didn't know you were coming, Elder. I've failed to recognize you. I apologize."
The indifferent, white-robed elder waved his hand, saying, "I'm only here to search for someone. I won't stay long."
Li Tianyi slapped his forehead, thinking, "Oh no! He's so casually pulled out the Pope's Token, and with such an extraordinary aura, who else could this be but the world's number one offensive spirit master? And there was a 90% chance the other party was coming for him."
Watching Jiatu greet the indifferent, white-robed elder with an apologetic smile, Li Tianyi felt a little uneasy. He backed away, trying to find a place to hide, but suddenly, he seemed to trip over something.
"You stepped on me!" a child's voice suddenly called out.
"Xiao Peng?" Li Tianyi quickly covered his mouth and whispered, "Sorry, sorry!"
Xiaopeng saw that it was Li Tianyi who had stepped on him and immediately became furious. He pushed Li Tianyi's hand away and said arrogantly, "You, little loser?"
Li Tianyi didn't want to pay attention to him, just wanting to find a place to hide. Just as he was about to leave, Xiaopeng grabbed him.
"Didn't I let you go?"
"Didn't I apologize?" Li Tianyi said coldly.
Xiaopeng was furious when he heard this and snapped, "What kind of attitude is that! Are you so uncultured? You're such a loser?"
The indifferent old man in white had been scanning the room since entering. Although Xiaopeng's voice was not loud, he could hear it clearly with his strength.
He couldn't help but look in Li Tianyi's direction. A few traces of emotion crossed the old man's calm face. He closed his eyes and carefully felt it, as if confirming something.
Seeing the other party being so unreasonable, Li Tianyi couldn't help but want to punch this corrupted superior dog away. Although his life motto was to ignore the barking of dogs, but now that the dog had bitten him, it would be a shame to ignore it.
Xiaopeng continued to chatter, completely unaware that he was frantically testing his own limits between life and death.
Jiatu lowered his eyebrows and said, "Elder, have you found the person you were looking for?"
The indifferent old man in white ignored him and walked towards Li Tianyi.
The deacons on both sides naturally didn't dare to stop him and retreated to the sides to form a passage for people.
Li Tianyi secretly cried out in disbelief and glared at Xiaopeng. "If you really ruin my plan, I will make you pay later."
Xiaopeng noticed the silence around him and saw the old man in white, surrounded by stars, running towards him. The feeling that had been swelling since waking up surged up again.
"Kid, I'm in a good mood today, so I won't argue with you!" Xiaopeng said, pointing at the approaching old man and saying arrogantly, "See? That's talent! People with talent are always eager to curry favor with them, while those without talent are just trash like you."
Li Tianyi's mouth twitched. This little brat must have endured so much abuse from his father before, so his mindset could have swelled to such a level of insanity after his awakening.
Xiaopeng felt incredibly excited as the highly respected, indifferent old man approached him.
Just as he was about to speak, he remembered that since his awakening, everyone who saw him had been vying to take him in as a disciple.
His expression suddenly darkened, his childish face feigning a certain sophistication, ignoring Gong Yin, who was glaring at him frantically from the side.
The indifferent old man stepped closer, and as if sensing something, a smile broke across his face, as cold as an iceberg.
The young Xiaopeng folded his arms proudly, looking up, waiting for the old man to come and take him in.
