Chapter 38 - Heavenly Asura Path 38

Chapter 38: Percy Accepts a Disciple

"So powerful," Oscar muttered as he watched Percy return to where they were. It was the first time these kids had seen the battle between two powers, and they were truly shocked. The huge avatars, the power enough to destroy the earth and make the atmosphere turn murderous was simply shocking to them.

But out of all of them, Zhu Zhuqing had a strange glint in her eyes. She came from a family where there was barely anything like love or affection between relatives. As the Zhu clan was directly affiliated with the throne of the Star Luo empire, there were always battles for power. Since many years ago, whether they were sons or daughters of the Zhu clan, they would be betrothed from birth to some prince or princess who would fight for the throne. Therefore, the only chance these young people had was to fight to the death.

The siblings killed each other mercilessly, and even the elders encouraged and helped them for the sake of having a little more power or reputation.

Zhu Zhuqing, ever since she was little, had been threatened by her elder sister, Zhu Zhuyn. She had even escaped several assassination attempts. It was even worse when Dai Mubai decided to run away like a coward and everyone found out; the news had even reached people outside the Zhu Clan and the Dai Imperial Clan. The shame she felt when people talked about her behind her back or the pity she could see in some eyes made her feel truly desperate.

She didn't want that. Zhu Zhuqing wanted to be able to make her own decisions. She wanted to be able to walk the world freely, but she knew that for that she needed power, power so great that neither the Zhu Clan or the Dai Clan would even think of moving against her. But such a thing was very difficult.

Under her elder sister's orders, almost no one would help her. Even her own maids seemed to be against her. In a moment of desperation, she escaped and arrived at the Heaven Dou Empire. She still had a little hope that Dai Mubai would decide to face the difficulties with her, but it turned out that the boy she had come looking for was just a bastard, an arrogant and annoying pervert.

Now, when she saw the power of Liu Erlong and Percy, she felt a little more secure. If these two people were in the Blue Tyrant Academy, then it was almost impossible for people from the Star Luo Empire to decide to attack. Furthermore, if she could receive even a little training from either of them, then her abilities could increase a little and become stronger.

"Alright, now that everything is over, I will help you settle in the academy."

"Wait, Erlong," Flender called out.

"Yes?"

"Do you think we can have a different class?" Flender asked with a little doubt.

"Our Shrek Academy always collected little monsters. Only having a soul power level of level 21 or higher and being twelve years old could they be eligible to enter. My academy doesn't exist now, but I would like to have the same requirements to have a special class: the Shrek class."

Liu Erlong tilted his head before smiling lightly: "Of course. I have no problem with that, Flender."

"Just by looking at them, I can see that each of these children are already at level 30 or higher. They are excellent seeds. You don't have to worry so much."

"Also, you will be the vice dean from now on, so you can rest assured. I won't treat my friends or their protégés badly."

Flender nodded with a smile.

"Thank you..."

"I understand that Shrek Academy had more teachers," Percy commented with a bit of doubt.

"Yes, you are right," Flender nodded, "But they will come in a few more days, and you don't have to worry, all of them are over level 60."

"Ah… by the way," Liu Erlong blinked as he remembered something. "Dugu Bo, the poison douluo comes from time to time. He is a consultant of our academy and has a friendship with my Percy, so you don't have to be afraid when you see him walking around."

Everyone opened their eyes wide. The two adults knew that Dugu Bo was a loner who did not accept offers from anyone. And the only reason he protected one of the princes of this empire was because he had helped him in the past. That also said something about his personality: he always kept his promises.

When all the conversations were over, Liu Erlong led them all to the academy, where they would enroll and the new class of monsters would be created: Shrek Class.

However, Zhu Zhuqing just stared at Percy, who now sat back down with his book.

"Do you need anything?" Percy asked, staring blankly.

Zhu Zhuqing shifted a little awkwardly before she took a step closer to him. When she was only two steps away, she bowed.

"Please accept me as your disciple."

Percy raised his eyebrows, genuinely surprised. He never expected someone to ask him to be a teacher. But he wasn't totally against it. Liu Erlong had asked him to be a teacher at the academy, but he turned it down. He didn't want to be surrounded by spoiled brats.

However, having only one student wasn't totally out of the question. Plus, from what he could see, Zhu Zhuqing was calmer than other young people and had a bit more patience.

"Why?"

Zhu Zhuqing slowly stood up while clenching his fists.

"I need power. If I want to have freedom, I need power so that no one from my family or the throne of the Star Luo Empire will bother me," Zhu Zhuqing answered honestly. She didn't praise Percy excessively to make him accept or tell him wonderful things as goals, she simply talked about her life or how they were the most powerful and influential families in the Star Luo Empire.

Percy frowned a little, thinking that these families were just idiots. Didn't they realize that killing their children would only weaken their families? Not having even a bit of filial love, it wouldn't be unusual to find betrayals everywhere. This kind of family wouldn't last long if it wasn't for being affiliated with the throne.

Looking at Zhu Zhuqing, he felt a little sorry for the girl. This world wasn't like planet Earth, where there were much more rigid laws on some things and death was seen as a repulsive act. Here, the strong had more say than the weak. No matter how smart or cunning you were, if you didn't have enough power in the form of martial spirit or soul power, then many would see you as trash. And it was a bit worse for women.

Percy took a small breath before nodding and pulling out a flower from his bracelet.

Zhu Zhuqing caught the flower and looked at it curiously. It was a chrysanthemum with a huge flower in an exceptionally beautiful violet. Each of the chrysanthemum's petals seemed to be adorably fluffy on the outside, making them blend together. It didn't release any fragrance, and the stamen that rose from the center of the petals

"First eat the stamen, then the petals one by one until none are left. Go to your room that Erlong will give you. When you absorb all the power that the unique velvet sky chrysanthemum offers you, then I will help you with other things."

Zhu Zhuqing smiled a little more strongly upon hearing Percy's words.

"Thank you very much, I won't let you down, master!" She bowed respectfully and was about to kneel.

"Stop, you don't need silly labels with me. As long as you are respectful, loyal, and persevering there is no need for silly things," Percy shook his hand and watched as his disciple stood up.

"But remember, while I tell you not to kneel to me out of respect, you must not do so to other people either. Kneeling also shows that you are giving in."

"Yes! This disciple understands!" Zhu Zhuqing nodded vigorously before bowing once more before leaving the place and going to find Liu Erlong and the rest of the group.

Percy sighed a little: "Soul power and the way of training really does make people grow faster."

He had already realized this long before, but he was still a little surprised to see twelve-year-olds with the appearance and height of a sixteen-year-old or older. Zhu Zhuqing in particular; her front was quite swollen, as was her backside.

When he was left completely alone, Percy took out the spirit bones he gained and smiled. This was another step towards his Asura God test. The first was a left arm bone, and the second, a left leg bone.

The two spirit bones were intact, proving Percy's precision when attacking. The power fluctuations they emitted seemed explosive, as if it wanted to break out.

"The one on the leg should exceed 50,000 years. As for the one on the arm...", Percy looked a little more closely, noticing that they didn't reach 20,000 years, but were above 10,000 years. Regardless, they were truly precious spirit bones.

Percy only had two spirit bones. The outer spirit bone that didn't really count towards his test, and a right arm spirit bone that passively increased his strength by 50%. With these two bones, he would have three after absorbing them, leaving only the right arm and leg spirit bones to obtain, in addition to the torso and head spirit bones.

"I should try to find a head spirit bone that has an ability that affects the spirit sea or can create some illusion," Percy muttered a bit before beginning to absorb the two spirit bones into his hands.
