Chapter 26 - Chapter 27: Tang San Gets Slapped in the Face

After Flandre agreed to his bet, Su Xiaoqi smiled and said "Good luck" to Zhu Zhuqing before stepping outside the circle.

Flandre's gaze swept over the four inside the arena. "Release your martial souls."

After the four released their martial souls, Tang San looked at Flandre and said, "Dean, I want Ning Rongrong to first boost Zhu Zhuqing's power; otherwise, they won't stand a chance."

He had already learned from Dai Mubai yesterday about Zhu Zhuqing's martial soul attributes. Her Blue Silver Grass martial soul was of the control type, which exactly countered the opponent's agility-based type. Plus, her soul power was two levels higher.

Therefore, even with Ning Rongrong's amplification, he was absolutely confident they could defeat the opponents.

"Fine," Flandre nodded. He knew the gap in strength was huge. He treated Su Xiaoqi's so-called bet as nothing more than a desperate attempt to save face.

"Ning Rongrong, since they are so generous, we won't be polite and will accept the help."

Outside the arena, Su Xiaoqi shouted internally, nearly laughing out loud — Tang San's actions perfectly illustrated the meaning of "putting on airs and getting slapped in the face."

"Alright." Ning Rongrong smiled and gave Zhu Zhuqing two boosts — strength and speed — then turned to her with a grin, "Zhuqing, I'll step aside and watch your performance."

Zhu Zhuqing nodded. This fight wasn't just about winning — she planned to win in style.

"Begin."

Flandre's words fell, and he soared up into the sky.

"Xiao Wu won't attack, you go first." Tang San politely gestured to Zhu Zhuqing.

"Pretentious." Zhu Zhuqing said coldly. She had no patience for men other than Su Xiaoqi.

Since Tang San wouldn't attack her, Zhu Zhuqing wasn't polite either. Suddenly, her body sprang up, leaving a trail of afterimages as she launched a frontal assault on Tang San.

Tang San faced Zhu Zhuqing's lightning-fast speed without panic. After activating his Purple Extreme Demon Eye, he could clearly track her movement.

But the next second, Zhu Zhuqing vanished from his sight.

"How is this possible!"

Not only Tang San, but Xiao Wu and other Shrek Academy students present also lost sight of her. Only the few teachers with soul power dozens of levels higher than Zhu Zhuqing — and Su Xiaoqi — could track her movement.

"This is a soul bone skill!"

Flandre, watching from the sky, was shocked. He clearly saw Zhu Zhuqing's left leg flash, and her current burst of soul power was no longer level 27, but level 30.

Flandre instinctively glanced at Su Xiaoqi outside the arena. Zhu Zhuqing, who had been only level 27 yesterday, must have something to do with this guy.

He had given Zhu Zhuqing a soul bone — and one that was definitely not a low-level one. Zhu Zhuqing's transformation came from absorbing the soul bone.

Flandre's expression darkened as he recalled the bet with Su Xiaoqi. No wonder Su Xiaoqi was so confident — they had guaranteed victory all along and had deliberately let Ning Rongrong boost Zhu Zhuqing in advance.

"Looks like Tang San and Xiao Wu are going to lose this match."

With the amplification of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Tower and the speed boost from the soul bone, what chance did Tang San and Xiao Wu have?

Flandre looked down at Tang San and Xiao Wu searching everywhere for Zhu Zhuqing's figure and already guessed their fate.

The scene played out as he expected. The moment Zhu Zhuqing disappeared, Tang San had already pushed his Purple Extreme Demon Eye to the maximum level but could only barely catch her afterimage.

Helpless, he activated Blue Silver Grass to cover himself and Xiao Wu, forming a protective cage. Even if he couldn't see her, once she attacked, the Blue Silver Grass would bind Zhu Zhuqing tightly like a prison.

What Tang San didn't expect was that Zhu Zhuqing didn't attack from the ground — but from above.

"Walking on air!"

Flandre and the other teachers from Shrek Academy were dumbfounded. Even after seeing countless soul skills, this was the first time they witnessed such a strange technique.

With two "boom" sounds, Tang San and Xiao Wu were knocked flying out of the circle. How they were knocked out was unclear to anyone.

"Zhuqing, you're amazing!"

Ning Rongrong cheered immediately. Having known Zhu Zhuqing's strength, she expected a win but didn't expect it to be so easy.

"Oh my, her boyfriend is already crazy, but she herself is this fierce too?"

Ma Hongjun said this as he turned to Dai Mubai. Zhu Zhuqing's display of power was completely different from what Dai Mubai had described earlier. That morning, Dai Mubai had briefly sparred with Tang San and Xiao Wu and clearly understood their strength.

Yet, these two had no chance of counterattack against Zhu Zhuqing, and he hadn't even seen how she defeated them.

Dai Mubai was now too shocked to argue with Ma Hongjun. He knew Zhu Zhuqing's martial soul better than anyone here.

Though the Ghost Spirit Cat was known for its speed, it still shouldn't be so fast that even he couldn't see it. Dai Mubai couldn't help but wonder, if he fused his martial soul skill with hers, could they beat his older brother Davis?

He believed Zhu Zhuqing must have her own reasons — otherwise, why didn't she use her full strength to deal with him yesterday?

The only hesitation Dai Mubai felt now was whether he could completely let go of his pride in front of Zhu Zhuqing, even if only as a formality.

As for Su Xiaoqi?

He was nothing but a brute — how could he be compared with the third prince of the Star Luo Empire?

Meanwhile, Tang San and Xiao Wu got up from the ground after being thrown out of the circle. They exchanged a glance, still bewildered.

"Brother, am I dreaming?"

Xiao Wu's eyes were dazed. She had no idea how they were knocked away.

"Xiao Wu."

Tang San looked at her, speechless. He had been very cautious, thought of all Zhu Zhuqing's possible attacks — except for an assault from the sky.

By the time he sensed the attack, it was too late to defend, and he was kicked away.

This was the first time since becoming a soul master that Tang San had lost so utterly. Thinking back to his previous bold words, he was filled with shame.

Seeing Tang San's disappointment, Xiao Wu hurriedly comforted him, "Brother, we were just careless this time. Next time, we'll definitely win back."

"I know, thank you, Xiao Wu."

Tang San smiled and nodded, then glanced at Zhu Zhuqing, who had already walked over to Su Xiaoqi. He silently vowed that next time he would never lose.

Over the years, as his strength grew, his attitude had become somewhat arrogant without realizing it. After today's defeat, he would no longer look down on anyone.
