Chapter 3 - Small And Limited Developments

Time has passed as usual, day after day and month after month.

As a baby who wasn't even 1 year old since he was born in this world, Li Wei actions were quite limited, even in a world of cultivation with high surprise and prospects, with an amazing potential for development, it wouldn't count for anything if he right now wasn't in any position to reach for that potential.

For his quest, or rather, small goal of information gathering, there was so much that he could do.

Like previously stated, he wasn't in that great of a position to search independently for information, and on top of that, this was a simple village; there was quite a limit on the information available here, even if he had the means to gather it. Right now, the pool of information that he gathered was mostly from his observation and analysis, which concluded as information regarding the villagers, the village, the relationships in the village in general, and its structure regarding the building and accommodations, either personal or professional, or their life status, mostly the goods that they have.

Still he haad a few advantages that he used, like knowing the language of this village, honestly if this was a proper cultivation world, which he is greatly enthusiasted on researching about it, he hoped that there would be only 1 language, this would make things easier, well it was a pointless question, most of these worlds have methods to mitigate this issue, and Li Wei was plenty smart himself with good enough memory, the effort of learning a new language from scratch wasn't that great, at most if he doesn't try that much it might take 2 or 3 days, if its intensive, he can even do it in 3 hours.

As the time passed, so did his progress increase, waiting alone in his home, since he couldn't build any relationship with the denizens, props to being a baby, he waited for his parents to leave. Usually when they need to take care of their garden and the crops, some of these things were quite a bit far away, to finish the job it would usually take about 3-4 hours, plenty of time to have some leeway, after testing it for more than 5 times, he was sure, the quickest they came back was around 80 minutes, and the garden was visited for at least 50 times by then.

'Well, there isn't any problem with leaving the child alone, here isn't there' though Li Wei, plenty of happiness at his small freedom, his parents aren't aware of anything as he always crawls back to his bed.

Going and crawling slowly, he goes to the personal bookshelf belonging to his home. Taking some books, he started to read continuously, continuing to deepen his already established knowledge.

As for what Li Wei knows, a small summary.

This world is quite big, just this kingdom who represents a small fragment of the continent is billions of kilometers in sizes if one traveled fron an end point to the opposite one in a straight line, the continent is hundreds maybe even thousands of times larger, and according to the rumours, there are many more continents beyond the Deep Sea.

Li Wei was very impressed. This was truly a world of cultivation.

Other things that kept him amazed were the immensely fast-paced births of the spirit beasts, and their program is even flexible, having 3 speeds.

Fast, faster, immortal-level fast, where it's possible for them to even spawn out of thin air, something or someone must be maintaining such a system though Li Wei, of course this was just a suspicion, a trivial one, so he didnt care or gave it too much weight, even if he wanted to prepare himself with such matters, he was quite limited in options, so the best option is to avoid acy unusual things all together.

Other than that, the more sinister nature of the monsters gave Li Wei quite some ideas.

'Beasts eating humans, huh, well, we all know where this is going.' Li Wei sighed

Even if he could see the hidden potential for power in such a combination, as a person who respected the concept and ideas that derived from the concept of good, Li Wei didn't enjoy the road he could see from this, yes the potential for murder and scapegoats was amazing but he liked to thing that there was still peace, order, honesty and righteousness honor in this world, he sighed as he continued to scroll, this vast pool of information was acquired.

Other things include survival stuff, how to take care of your farm, how to take care of children, cooking books, some novelty, martial arts books for basic movements, not a single cultivation secret.

The most important was a spirit beasts encyclopedia who discussed in details the characteristics of a specific race, usually the ones who were very close to this village, Li Wei observed that even in this tiny limited space there was a high amount of diversity in the races, having small differeces, just from this a lot of information regarding the cultivation rules of this world was answered.

'Interesting', this was a treasure of information that confirmed and helped Li Wei to come to many conclusions. Of course, until he had a cultivation technique of his own, he was still limited in the final view of the truth regarding the rules and possibilities of this world. Li Wei was also curious about the development of other factors, like tribulations; there were so many subjects that could be taken and analysed from this, making him restless.

'Hehe, this world is truly magical, the more i read, the more i inform myself, the less patience i have about the events where im the one in control, just how large is it the potential that i can gather from this world, altough this is my greedy hope, i have a feeling that it is limitless.

In a world where heaven offers without any sign of a limit, how can the greed of a human be naturally limited? It is limitless, an instinct to match the heaven, among you humans, is there anyone who can match my greed?'

And this belief wasn't even coming from a place of evil, if one looked through it, one could see that this was the natural, instinctive reaction of having a limitless ocean of possibilities, either richness or development, with such a pressure to hit the greed, how can a human, who its thoughts and intent work under the limit of the finite, naturally the finite breaks, and the infinite installs itself taking control over the human thoughts, emotion and aspirations. They combined themselves into a fitting goal.

And from the beginning, his goal was only immortality, only this goal alone can match the beauty and standards that one too can find in the very concept of living, the possibilities and the road that one can craft, it can be said that living by itself is beauty if one's understanding is deep enough.

The abundance of the Heavens was one's fortune and one's right, along with a person's standard of living; it matched the goal of a perfect life, something that can be mastered and achieved by a master cultivator. Something that was thoroughly researched and achieved with any means necessary and any condition met, can one unite himself with such a balance and reach Heaven.

Leaving his small thoughts aside, the boy, like always, looked through the books. Honestly, lately it was starting to become a little pointless, after all, he was sure of it; he managed to look through most of the books, memorizing the core information. There weren't many, only a little more than 200.

'Booring, so boring, there isn't much that I can do here, even the martial arts, I already know them from my previous life, and there isn't anything deep here.'

After a while, the boy found something in the book, the beast encyclopedia, which looked like a puzzle. After looking through it, seeing that it was a simple word puzzle going from page to page according to them as they intuited, capital words puzzle like creating new words by combining the first capital letter of each word when a new sentence started, and a few neighboring words assemblance sentences an axample word cut in a row, tower below it, and righteousness below again, this was going from North to south and the order of words was just from next row to next row and just bellow the previous word, if a set of imaginary columns was to be taken into account, they would fit in the same column.

Shuffling them according to the instructions, Li Wei came to a conclusive answer. By this discovery, Li Wei was asked to take a material like wool. Write a statement, "Great master of the unknown desires, your humble servant awaits you," then burn it and extinguish the fire with grape wine; it would open the door to the desired needs of all human beings.

Thinking about this.

First Li Wei though, that this was the macabre secret of their parents, hiding something given the looks and appareances of the ritual, but he quickly dismissed it, their parents aren't neccesarry all that knowing with regards to such subjects, they may not be smart enough, or have the skills to hide anything too unusual, especially from the immortal cultivators, if they are resourced and with his understanding of this world, if there was something that could be taken it would be already. Also, by analysing them, he concluded that they weren't the type of people who would complicate themselves to create such a thing, especially here in this defenceless place, their reactions when he analysed them and their emotions along with it point out that they wouldn't have any ideas about it, so these secrets most likely are not from them.

The obvious but simplistic and direct answer might be that this is a special event created from his transmigration, perhaps his golden finger. If one were to think that he transmigrated from an artificial event, one could think that future development outside one's expectation can appear, especially since he was very clueless about the core matter. If that was the cause, for various reasons, he couldn't refuse, even if it was dangerous, since the one in control wouldn't accept it.

'It's pointless to think too much, besides this doesn't fit with my character, with my desire for freedom and recklessness, if there is something from Heaven and i want it, shouldn't i simply take it, this is my freedom, an act that furthers me away from my previous life of restriction, if i only care about the dangers, then what could i even achieve?'

Altough he said that Li Wei had reasons to believe that this was a worthy risk, he calculated many things and concluded that the pros outweighted the cons, while he liked to live recklessly, he would really jump in a botomless abyss by himself just for the thrills, he would take risk, but only after he calculated them and concluded with his abilities that it was worth it, he liked to take risks after all, for him there was value in doing it. And if by any chance he calculated wrong, then he wouldn't regret it; this was proof that these were his limits, a proof that this was the end of his journey, he would gladly accept it, and without any regrets.

Doing the deed, a passageway appeared and imprinted itself on the bookshelf, like a shining door.

When he entered, there was a big cave with purple, slightly shining crystals, a big crystal encompassing all colours in the world was stuck in the middle.

His instincts guided him closer, ordering him to touch the crystal.

Suppressing the overbearing instincts until he was calm again, he walked to the crystal and carefully touched it.

It shined strongly, almost blindly, before it morphed into a viscous liquid form and entered Li Wei's baby body, fusing with him.
