Chapter 2 - A Natural Connection

'Unbelievable, this..., this...'

The new baby boy was born to this family of giants from his view. Symbolising the disparity of size and confirming factually the truth of his rebirth, of his transmigration.

"Waaahhh" "Waaaahhhhh"

Showing some natural reaction, the baby boy who was once a man cried, naturally, and was no different from other newborns. He observed quickly that he was just born, I'd be weird if he didn't react at all.

"Look, my dear, he is born, it's a baby boy," said the 'giant' woman, his new mother, who wasn't giant at all.

"I know my love, all our efforts are blooming now," responded the man, most likely the father of this baby.

"Dear, the times are hard, now that our child is born, you know what to expect, we need to put in even more effort, to take more responsability, we can't afford to play with leasure, otherwise not only us but our child will suffer as well, you know that we are not immortal lords who practice the divine art of cultivation," said the wife, her tone very serious.

"My love, I know, don't worry, I never disappointed you and I never will, I know very well our situation," responded her husband.

The baby, on the other hand, was not listening to the majority of the conversation; his attention was caught up by a different matter, 'immortal lords', 'cultivation' unbelievable, for him, this was even more shocking than the transmigration itself, he didn't just transmigrated, he transmigrated into a world of cultivation. Something his former world would never be, it felt like he was embraced by a river of honey, always standing at the heart of the cascade, flowing honey through him, finally coloring his dull grey, white and black life with endless colors and life, he couldn't be more happy, he was sure that anything other than this no matter how great or valuable couldn't give him such a rush of feelings. Yes, slowly, he started to feel it, the cracking and breaking of his chains.

For him, this really was unbelievable, the possibility offered by such a life.

In his previous life, it could be said that he was cursed, because he never found any true meaning in it; all the things offered by it brought a great sense of displeasure and disgust, never ever seeing any value in them, any value in living such a life. It could be said that in that life he lived senselessly without a goal, without a purpose.

But now that fear, that irrationality, can be said to finally have a cure. He was brought to this cure, this life, possibilities along with it, the future road brought by the possibility of the concept of cultivation, all brought to him, to ascend to the path of immortality. This hero was an immortal fanatic; he had a deep entanglement with the philosophy that life without immortality is useless and gone in a blink, one shouldn't feel any feeling of value to it; this was a strong knot in his brain that drove his character and puppeted his personality.

Although abstract and without any fixed destination derived from information, hypotheses, and conclusions, he wanted, his goal was to achieve the pinnacle of cultivation and gain immortality, living life freely and without any worries, perhaps it was a too simplistic goal, but who could fault him, this was what he was, avoiding the pointlessly complications of many developed factors, this for him it was better to keep things simple.

And now that it was established what he wanted, he naturally would do his best to achieve it and live life freely and away from the constraints of the mortal world; he would do things without any regrets, he would achieve greatness in his freedom, for him that was the nature of cultivation.

Dealing with his thoughts, he observed silently like the baby that he was around the room.

'Decent technology, surprisingly good for the standards of a cultivation world that I'm used to from the books of my former world. If compared with the technology of my former world, I'd say it's around the year 1930-1940.

Parents from their voice I can feel their honesty, they are good people, plenty hard working, from their previous words they seemed like they enjoyed the free life without responsability in the past but that changed quickly, in their words they didn't lie, I could observe this from their tone, strong emotions as well, a little bit of fear and worry showing their inexperience and a little lack of confidence to this new frontier, but not too much, their are prepared in theory but lacks practice, probably thei got courses from other who are more experienced, their choices of words and the situations based on their initiative that they take, the solution thay come up with can give me a good indication on their intelligence, i can already guess the developments of their thoughts, actions, their weight wether thoughts and actions, and some limited parts of their future development.

Altough i still lack quite a lot of information regarding some more things about their characteristics, like how much emotion they generate based on specific events or preferances, how much they care about events, and the caringness and the emotion released to an event, this too with their opinion and ideas that came from their intelligence', on such matter, and many more example of such kind, until this transmigrated newborn didn't get this information he couldn't predict with 100% accuracy what his parents would think and do. Right now, it was limited to a few events, and with only an accuracy of 30%, this was mostly thanks to his intuition and quick observation.

As the newborn was locked in his thoughts, the family, who were much less smart than he was.

"Dear, we should name the baby Li Wei. What do you think?"

"My love, it's a great name. From now on, this boy is Li Wei; he is our son Li Wei."

'Li Wei' contemplated the newly named boy Li Wei, before stopping his neutral expression and starting to giggle and laugh, showing a very happy expression.

"Look, my love, he loves it very much, as long as I am still alive, I promise to always protect you, my love Li Mei," said the husband and the father of his child.

"Thank you very much, my dear Li Jun, I'm sure my son loves you very much," said the wife, as they both exchanged the rights to hold and hug the baby between themselves.

When finishing enjoying holding him, they washed him, washed the room, and started their responsibilities according to their fellow villagers.

Through the passing of time Li Wei observed his situation and learned, the first thing is that he knew the language, luckily he was too infatuated with cultivation novels, so he was an expert in chinese, the language of this world, it was the same with the writing, both of his parents also know how to write and do mathemathical calculation, despite the fact that they don't seem any special in any way, this is available for the other villagers as well, yes every single one of them.

Now that he observed his parents for a much longer time, at least 6 months, he had a deep understanding of their personalities, and the scope of decisions they will take based on things, with the information he accumulated, and his deep logical thinking he could guess most of the time on the things that they want to do, taking every cue that exist which is released by a human subcounsciously for his analysis.

He observed many things about the villagers as well, there seem to be around 872 people, well from what he numbered, and gained many information which is much more limited about them, thanks to that he can guess some things, know how to start a conversation with them to direct them where he wanted but was limited in other aspects and couldn't predict their every actions, after all the fountain of information that he could get was limited by the movements of his parents.

Luckily, the peace was strong in this village as everyone had a deep connection with each other, treating each other like a good friend, sometimes even like family. There was no enmity; the conflicting opinions were regulated and easily solved, and the cooperation between the villagers was superb.

He found the name of the village, which was called Stray Red Water village, from the red rivers across the village, usually from the blood of the beasts, which was abundant.

His parents, well, they have a farm, not that big, just enough, other than himself, they could likely raise 2 more children at the very most, and animals, this was a great advantage compared to other situations, even if poor, it was self-sustaining. The other villagers were in similar positions, there didnt seem to be any difference in wealth or hierarchy, he heard that the chief here was supported by immortal cultivators, sure at this level they wouldn't be truly immortals, this was what the villagers believed, or at least called them out of respect without actually believing it, he wasn't sure, after all the villagers had no reason to not believe given the mystery of it all, they know that cultivators are beyond human, they didn't know their potential hierarchy, but at this level and with these responsabilities, they definitely wouldnt be immortal, after all what immortals would be baby sitters to a remote village.

Well it was lucky, because these cultivators come from time to time, to do their business like installing methods to protect this village from stray beast, give resources, share some knowledge and the most important to recruit new children to their sects, the sects naturally had individual contracts with different villages across their nations, it was their authority and the village belonged to them, it was the perfect method to increase in resources and manpower, given the violent situation with the beasts, other sects, or other nations, this was needed, very much so.

For now, he will wait and act like a baby, slowly showing slight signs of curiosity; he will wait like a hidden predator until the moment of the sect enrolment comes, the moment where he will shine and live his life fully. If the perk of a transmigrator, like he usually read in his novels, was anything to believe in, his destined future was great. Oh, how much he would enjoy this.

Li Wei thought with enjoyment as he licked his lips.
