James is your typical fan of The Walking Dead; he has seen all the shows and spin-offs. But one thing that gets to him is how the U.S. military failed to contain the outbreak in the show, considering they were the most powerful fighting force in the world. He thinks to himself that if he were in The Walking Dead universe as a U.S. military general before the outbreak started, he would prepare his men for what's to come and be ready to take on all the bad guys that are yet to come.
James decides to watch The Walking Dead again, but only the parts that involve the military or mention them. He watches all the scenes related to the military and how they failed, ultimately concluding that they weren't properly prepared, even though they had all the equipment to stop the walkers. They didn't understand that they had to shoot them in the head to stop them, and another thing they failed to realize was that it didn't matter how you died; you were going to become a walker anyway, Regardless of whether you have been bitten or scratched, if only I had been there as a General, I could have attempted to stop the outbreak. I might have failed, but at least the US Military would still be there to help people instead of everything being in chaos after the world ended in The Walking Dead.
Your mom yells that it's time to go to bed because you have school tomorrow. You yell back, 'Okay, I'm going to bed,' and head to your room, which is covered in all sorts of Walking Dead memorabilia. You lie down and wish you could change the outcome of the U.S. military's downfall during the outbreak in The Walking Dead. Eventually, you go to sleep.
When you wake up, you find yourself in an office, sleeping on a pull-out couch. You look around and think, 'Where the hell am I? This isn't my room.' You decide to check the office and notice a clock on the wall that says it's 3 AM. As you look around some more, you find a military uniform that appears to belong to a general, and the name on it says 'Peyton.' You think, 'What the heck? That isn't my name!' Then you see a desk and decide to check it out. You find some documents signed by General Peyton, US Military, Fort Benning, Georgia and then the memories of this person's military career flood your mind.
I remember now along with this person memories which made my head hurt. I made a wish before I went to sleep that the U.S. military would not fall during the outbreak, so I must be in the world of The Walking Dead, but before the outbreak has happened yet. I wonder how many months I have left before it occurs so I can be sure the military survives.
You check the calendar and it says January 1, 2010. Good, I have seven and a half months until the outbreak happens. If I remember correctly from the timeline in the show, the virus isn't discovered until April 16, 2010, by the CDC, and the outbreak and collapse of society don't occur until August 25, 2010. So I have time to train and give orders to all the troops on base on how to take down walkers and prepare. Let's go back to sleep until 7 a.m and then we will get started on our plans to train these soldiers in advance to kill walkers and keep this base operational.
