Location: Undetected Realm – Null Space (Outside Time)
Event: The Origin
Time Remaining Before Grid Collapse: 01:02:33
Scene 1: The Black Between
The Phantom Atlas had never trembled like this before.
Its engines flickered.
Its walls groaned like it was traveling through reality's scar tissue.
The stars outside had vanished.
No light. No gravity. No echoes.
Just… Null.
A place not even the Grid dared to name.
Rin stood at the command deck, his face reflected in the dim lighting.
"Where are we?" Ayla asked, tapping the frozen monitor.
Mira frowned. "Not on any recorded axis. Not even off the map. It's like someone built this dimension out of… un-code. Glitches. Static."
Kael gripped the railing. "Elios vanished here. This has to be where the answers are."
The ship finally halted.
The screen blinked to life with a final line:
Welcome, Broken Ones.
And then the doors opened.
Scene 2: The Watcher's Garden
They stepped out into a realm that shouldn't exist.
A floating platform of silver sand beneath a black sky dripping with frozen stars. Giant pillars hung upside down in the void, ancient and cracked.
And in the center…
A garden of flickering light.
Dead timelines bloomed like flowers made of memory.
And sitting amidst it, cross-legged on a throne made of fragmented morphers…
Was The Watcher.
Cloaked in shifting silver.
Face hidden behind a mask shaped like a shattered Grid crystal.
"Welcome," the Watcher said, voice echoing across every version of themselves. "You have walked many broken paths."
Thorne drew his blade. "You're the one interfering."
The Watcher tilted their head. "I'm the one who watched as everything fell apart. Including you."
Kael stepped forward. "You erased Elios."
"No," said the Watcher. "I preserved him. From what comes next."
A pause. Silence as timelines slowed.
Then Rin said what no one else would.
"You're not part of the Grid."
The Watcher laughed quietly.
"I am what came before the Grid."
Scene 3: Truth Shattered
The garden rippled—showing scenes:
The first spark of the Morphing Grid.
A cosmic lattice born from war.
Built to connect heroes… and contain chaos.
"There was never a perfect system," the Watcher said. "The Grid was designed to stabilize fractured timelines. But with every new Ranger team, every battle, it became… unstable."
Mira's voice was sharp. "So you erased timelines to 'stabilize' it?"
"I preserved what I could," said the Watcher. "But the Grid chose champions. It rejected others. Elios? He was one such rejection."
Rin's fists clenched. "He was stronger than any of us."
"Exactly," the Watcher replied. "That made him dangerous."
Ayla's eyes widened. "Wait… so the Grid decides who lives and who dies?"
The Watcher nodded. "It always has."
Kael's voice was low. "That's not justice. That's control."
"I did not build the Grid," said the Watcher. "But I kept its lie from collapsing everything."
Mira stepped forward, scanning the throne. "Why bring us here now?"
"Because…" The Watcher's mask cracked slightly, revealing part of their face.
It was… familiar.
Kael's face.
Everyone froze.
"I am the Kael that was never chosen," said the Watcher. "From a timeline that never survived. I became what the Grid feared."
Scene 4: The Fracture Within
The shock hit hard.
Kael stared at the Watcher—his twisted reflection. "You… you're me?"
"In a version where you failed," the Watcher said. "Where your team was betrayed by the Grid. Just like Elios."
"You became this?" Kael asked.
"I watched the multiverse burn," the Watcher replied, eyes glowing. "And I chose to stop it. Even if it meant becoming a villain in every other timeline."
"You're not saving anything," Mira snapped. "You're just pruning everything that doesn't fit your image."
"I'm preventing collapse," the Watcher said. "Elios tried to do it his way. Now he's sealed, waiting. But you… you're my last gamble."
Ayla frowned. "Wait. This is all a test?"
Rin narrowed his eyes. "Or a trap."
The garden trembled.
Behind the Watcher, a massive crystalline door appeared. Locked. Sealed. Pulsing with Morph energy.
"The Grid's Core," the Watcher whispered. "I can't enter it. But you can."
"Why?" Kael asked.
"Because the Grid still believes in you."
Scene 5: Choice of the Broken
The team stood at the threshold.
Behind that door: the origin of all Morph energy. The truth.
But Kael turned.
"What happens if we enter?"
"If you succeed," said the Watcher, "you'll rewrite the Grid. Restore balance. But if you fail…"
"…you'll never leave."
Thorne stepped forward. "I've lived through hell. Failure's nothing new."
Mira looked at the glowing lock. "Let's break the code of destiny."
Ayla cracked her knuckles. "I'm just here to punch fate in the face."
Rin turned to Kael. "Your call, leader."
Kael looked back at the Watcher—his shadow.
"You're wrong about one thing."
"Oh?"
"We're not broken," Kael said. "We're the future."
The team stepped through.
And the crystalline door shattered open—
Light flooded them—
And reality rewrote itself.
