After a long day of procedures and preparations, it was finally time for Camila to be discharged from the hospital. The atmosphere was filled with both tension and joy as Jacob helped her get ready to leave. Little Kaya was sleeping peacefully in the mobile crib after a day full of visitors and mixed emotions.
By evening, things had calmed down in Jacob and Camila's home. The baby was asleep in the bedroom, and Jacob sat next to Camila on the couch, sharing a quiet conversation. Everything seemed peaceful, as if life was falling into a natural rhythm.
Suddenly, a soft sound came from the baby's room—a small cry, growing louder by the second.
"Jacob, I think Kaya's starting to cry," Camila said, looking at him with concern.
Jacob stood quickly, trying to keep calm, then smiled and said,
"I'll go check on her."
He entered the room and found Kaya wide awake and crying loudly, unable to settle.
"My sweet girl, what's wrong?" Jacob whispered as he gently lifted her into his arms.
He tried to calm her, but sensed she might be hungry—or maybe she needed something else. He left the room and headed to the kitchen, while Camila watched from afar, her heart full of both love and concern.
When Jacob returned with the bottle of milk, he took a deep breath and walked back into the room.
"Here we go, our little angel," he said as he offered the bottle to Kaya. She began drinking slowly, and Jacob felt a wave of relief wash over him. Still, he couldn't hide the overwhelming joy of realizing he was now a father.
As Jacob tended to the baby, Camila came in and sat beside him, then whispered softly,
"You're cherishing every moment with Kaya, aren't you?"
Jacob smiled and nodded while watching Kaya slowly drift back to sleep. He turned to Camila with eyes full of love and said,
"More than you can imagine, Camila. This is the most beautiful moment of my life."
Camila quietly returned to bed, while Jacob stayed by the crib, gently watching over their daughter until she fell completely asleep.
