Synopsis
Zhenyel, an aspiring adventurer from the Guild, ventured into the new world she lived in. After the merging of two realms and the addition of strange system phenomena in their economy, she set out to seek answers, comrades, and her other half. At the end of her journey, she was met with betrayal by the ones she trusted the most, killed and sacrificed in exchange for power. She sobbed in her last moments, questioning where everything had first gone wrong, why their supposed comrade had betrayed them. Amidst her acidic tears, drowning sorrow, a deity saw her suffering. She was given a second chance, a new path to take, to change her and the world's fate. "NO! DON'T TAKE HER!" The Immortal King roared in anger and desperation as he clung to Zhenyel's corpse while he engulfed everything in black flames, his eyes were discharging dark tears. "Save her... I beg you all... Anyone... I'm willing to pay the price... As long as you bring her back..." He whispered defeatedly, caressing Zhenyel's cold cheek as he pressed his forehead against hers, breathing heavily.

Chapter 1 - Breaking News!

"Emergency! Emergency! World Wide Warning! All citizens must evacuate to the nearest evacuation center! I repeat, all citizens are to evacuate to the nearest emergency shelter! This is a worldwide warning!" The speaker system blared as the siren howled in the air from every part of the city around the world, as the first alarm went off people didn't follow through the warning and kept on doing their business, some pausing in confusion.

Then the second alarm echoed from the speaker system, and the same warning was delivered—that was when people began panicking.

Screams, crashes, and loud noises occurred on every street as nearby police, security guards, and law enforcers were moving from all over the city to ensure that citizens could evacuate with minimal casualties as per their orders from the higher-ups, without any explanation given to them.

"No pushing! Maintain a single line! Get moving, hurry up! Don't be slow!" Some police can be heard doing their best to maintain order in the evacuation as people pushed and yelled at each other, prioritizing their own lives.

Elders, children, pregnant mothers, and other people with difficulties moving were given a different line and prioritized as the citizens were led inside the emergency shelter while the speaker system kept blaring the alarm.

Once everything was in order, the highest people in positions inside the center were given the authority to govern inside the shelter. Thus, some of the governing figures inside some parts of the world immediately made sure the citizens inside their shelter were given first aid attention, the others were left as is.

"Come in, John. What's the situation there?" A gruff voice was heard from the radio of the highest authority in the shelter, a Police Master Sergeant. The man holding the radio was overseeing the distribution of first aid attention to those who needed it, watching from the highest place as his eyes went to the radio in his hand.

"Sir, Police Master Sergeant, John Marcus Dela Cruz speaking. The evacuation site had been packed with people. I'm afraid the rations and supplies we have at the shelter would not last us that long, even if we limit the distribution quantity. Amongst the people evacuated had about 23% sustained injuries due to the panic of the people." John says as he explained his situation in the evacuation site, his eyes roaming the center with worried and calculating eyes.

"I see. Other shelters are in the same state, especially in the major cities. We're almost scarce with resources, so do what you can to last for at least 3 months or so. For the meantime, we have no idea what is happening. We were told by the higher-ups to activate the emergency sirens and have the people vacate the streets, to the nearest emergency shelter. As of now, we still have no news. Hang on for a bit until we receive orders." The gruff voice replied from the other end of the radio, not waiting for the Police Master Sergeant's reply and cutting off the signal.

"You heard the Police Colonel, we're gonna put a limit on the distribution of each resource, especially with food and water. For now, go check with the people and see to it that no fight occurs. We're gonna be here for more than a month, we need to get by with all these people." John says as he strapped the radio back at his hips, separating the group of available forces he has into three groups: distribution officers, order maintainers, and helpers, the overseer of the shelter's resources.

The three groups parted ways to do their jobs. Meanwhile, the Police Master Sergeant and the ones he assigned to help him went to the warehouse to check the rations and grab the ones they would supply, then give them to the distribution team to provide for the refugees or people at the site.

"Sergeant! The people are going crazy! They were demanding an explanation and stuff!" An officer new to the force rushed inside the warehouse. He was breathing heavily as if there was a dispute when he left, even though it hadn't been that long yet.

The Sergeant left the delivery of supplies to the distribution team to his assigned helpers while he followed the officer to the main area, his black low-cut shoes echoing with each step as his brows furrowed with aggravation.

His mind was reeling with stressful thoughts about the entire situation, despite that he steeled his nerves and arrived at the main area, where he saw most of the people yelling and pointing; some even tried to push past the officers assigned by him to maintain order.

With a deep breath, the Sergeant blew his tubular whistle loudly. The ear-piercing volume of the high-pitched sound discharged by the object successfully grabbed the attention of the agitated people as their eyes landed on him from behind the officers.

PEEP!

"That's enough! Anyone who disrupts the officer's job would be restricted from their rations! I will explain what I know for now and what will happen from here on out, so calm down and take a seat." He began as the people began calming down at his words, afraid to be left out of the supply distribution.

When the angry crowd dispersed, the Sergeant was handed a megaphone as he turned it on and thanked the officer who gave it to him ahead of time.

"First things first, I'd address the elephant in the room. Currently, we have no news from the higher-ups apart from needing to stay in this center for a month or so. With the number of us exceeding what the shelter could provide for, we will limit the rations we distribute so that we'll last more than a month. At present, the situation outside is barren; the other evacuation sites are also in the same predicament as us. That's why I ask for everyone's cooperation and understanding." The Sergeant said as his words echoed in the open area.
