Synopsis
Five years ago, the world ended—at least, the world as humanity knew it. On a quiet evening, just as children were returning from school and families prepared dinner, the sky changed. The blue faded into a deep, unnatural crimson, and then… it tore apart. Portals, jagged and writhing like open wounds, appeared in the heavens. From them spilled creatures so alien, so horrific, they seemed like nightmares made flesh. Humanity named them Riftborn. These monsters slaughtered indiscriminately, leaving entire cities empty and entire bloodlines extinct. The ground they touched burned with Soul Fire, a cursed energy that warped nature itself—turning lush forests to ash, mutating animals, and poisoning water. Nighttime ceased to exist; instead, the crimson sky returned every sunset, transforming every evening into Dris, a time when stepping outside was suicide. Humanity was on the brink of extinction… until one man, Edric Valemont, killed a Riftborn with nothing but a spear and unyielding will. That act of defiance sparked hope and birthed the Blood Moon Heaven Academy—a training ground for humanity’s last defense. Those chosen by Edric became known as Slavers, warriors who wield weapons forged from Riftborn remains, chaining the enemy’s own power against them. But the war never truly turned. The Riftborn adapted, becoming faster, stronger, and disturbingly coordinated—as if a single mind guided their endless slaughter. For every Riftborn slain, two more appeared. Humanity’s victories began to feel hollow, temporary at best. Despair crept back into the hearts of the survivors. Then came Lyrisse. Found as an infant in a mysterious basket drifting along a river the night the crimson sky first appeared; she was raised far from the frontlines by a humble couple who treated her as their own. Now, fifteen years old, she has come to the Blood Moon Heaven Academy, armed with a Riftborn-forged katana and an unshakable resolve to protect those she loves. But Lyrisse is not ordinary. The crimson sky reacts to her presence. Riftborn hesitate when she draws near, their monstrous eyes glowing with something unsettlingly close to recognition. Whispers spread in secret: Is she humanity’s destined savior? Or something far more dangerous? As Lyrisse begins her training, she finds rivals who want to see her fail, allies willing to fight beside her, and enemies more terrifying than any nightmare. And as the Riftborn attacks escalate, one truth becomes clear—someone, or something, is controlling them. The war is no longer just survival. It is about who controls fate itself. The question is no longer whether humanity can survive… It’s whether Lyrisse is the one to save it, or the one to end it.

Chapter 1 - Beginning

There was a moment at school, after class all the students would head to their home, as usual, their parents would cook for dinner. A few seconds later, there was a commotion, outside was filled with fear, screams, and cries of people. They were panicking, a little girl looked up to the sky, the sky was starting to change its color it's becoming crimson red. No one knew why it is changing or what kind of phenomenon is this, they all thought some scientists had a problem with their experiments, but in the end, they were clueless about what is happening. All of them chose to evacuate some of them decided to stay in their home.

Nobody could explain what was happening, red sky, portals opening, and some red monsters coming out of the portals. The face of the monsters was terrifying. Some of them said it was made by an angry god, which made other people believed it. They went to the church and went down to their knees and begun to chant weird enchantment.

They prayed, they asked what was happening, running everywhere, panicking, couldn't control their emotions. The people got slaughtered and devoured by monsters, blood everywhere, the sky was red as their bloods. People suffered, though, this is only the beginning.

5 years had passed. The sky becomes clear, the sun naturally rises and that's when they thought the sky becomes red when the sun went down, they also named the red monsters "Riftborn". That means, the monsters arrive at nighttime, but since the sky turned red whenever the sun went down, instead of "night", they called it, "Dris". They never go out in their houses when it's exact 6 pm.

Life was hard for them, in that kind of situation it's hard to predict what will happen to them, questions still hung on the air, will they survive? Will this end? When? Everyone was terrified no one dared to fight they chose to stay in their homes, only coming out when it's sunrise.

All the buildings collapsed, each blood glow more buildings were damaged due to the Riftborn doings. They destroy everything, anything, they kill every animal they see or humans, the animal slowly to extinct. People doesn't know where to find meat or eat meat, they just rely on eating and planting fruits and vegetables, if the plants were destroyed by the soul fire, they would plant again, they were starting to lose hope. Some of them attempted suicide because of how hard their life.

A miracle happened, a strong man named Edric Valemont fought a Riftborn, and he became the developer of "Blood Moon Heaven Academy" Where his students learn how to assassinate a Riftborn. People admired Edric Valemont, not only because of his skills at fighting but because of his inventions of weapons that can be destructive.

The weapons Edric made was not just an ordinary weapon because that was made from a Riftborn, each Riftborn had a unique ability that can't just be controlled immediately. So, Edric students were only chosen by him, and it depends to an individual what kind of skills or strength they possess. The people were relieved because of the changes of their country because of Edric Valemont, he became a legend. So, the people were no longer afraid of the Riftborn, because they know there will be an assassin to save them.

The blood moon heaven assassins had different ranks; it depends on the individual's skills and strengths. Although of course Riftborns have their ranks too according to their abilities or what they can do, let's start, E – Lowest rank, D – Low rank, C – Below average, B – Average strength, A – High strength, S – Elite, SS – Legendary, and lastly, Ω – Mythical. The mythical one, nobody could have that even Edrin is only rank SS. They used a gadget that was made by a scientist named, Jorvan Thalric.

People can finally sleep at ease, and according to the Crimson Veil Agency, the soul fire numbers were decreasing and that was the moment people thought they could finally be free, but they were wrong, one Dris more Riftborns spawned, they became double, and they regenerated when they're hurt that's when it got tougher to fight them. It became worse than the previous one.

Every time they killed one Riftborn, it keeps spawning, it's like someone is controlling them, they don't know how to deal with the Rftborn anymore, they wanted to give up, but the students would like to join the war, they wanted to fight even if that means losing their life for their people who hoped that the world would change someday.

All of them fought until the sunrises, everyone was injured, some of them didn't survive of the war between humans and Riftborns, they were in despair losing some of their comrades and precious friends in the battle.

Some of them still ask if this chaos will end? When? The questions were unanswered by the Crimson Veil Agency, including Edric. He said a promise to everyone, "One day, someone will seal this chaos... I promise, this will end soon."

One day, a beautiful girl was walking through the forest and that girl was Amelia, she's a beautiful lady who was cherished by all. She stopped on a nearby river and saw a floating a basket, she immediately went to the river and reached for the basket. Once she got it, she opened it and saw a crying bsby girl. After seeing a baby, she decided to keep the baby and named her, Lyrisse.

Amelia took care of Lyrisse, she treated Lyrisse as her own daughter, Aelric helped her raise Lyrisse. At first Lyrisse was hard to take care because of her naughty behavior, she was sometimes scolded by Amelia, but even though how hard it is to raise a child Amelia didn't make Lyrisse feel alone or unloved. All her attention went to Lyrisse, even Aelric did the same, they both loved Lyrrise so she would grow up filled with love.

When Lyrrise turned 12 years old they enrolled her in a simple high school Amelia was too afraid of Lyrisse training at 15, she'll get a rank test at the Blood Moon Heaven Academy, Amelia's thought of Lyrrise fighting the Riftborn during Dris made her super worried, Aelric calmed her down saying Lyrrise will be fine.

3 YEARS LATER

LYRRISE POV...

"Happy birthday, Lyrrise!" My mother, Amelia said dramatically. "Aelric, our daughter turned 15 years old, I can't believe it... Time goes fly..." She said almost crying.

I rolled my eyes watching my mom dramatically sobbed on dad's shoulder, "Mom it's not like I'll die." I spoke mixed with sarcasm.

I was excited for first day of school in the Moon Heaven Academy tomorrow. It's like a relief to me because I won't be weak anymore, I would protect my mom and dad at all costs, and they'll be proud of me because I can fight for myself without their protection. This would be fun!

I was born with natural red hair and red eyes with pale skin, people would often call me Riftborn because of the color of my hair and eyes, they hated red, for them it resembles Riftborns. So, all my life, I got no friends, but I had an idea I asked my mom to dye my hair black and asked my dad for a contact lens.

I don't want people hating on me so what I did was to change myself, I changed my appearance and my whole life was better, I can be like this forever. I have plenty of friends after I changed my hair color.

"Lyrrise, there's something I wanted to give you." My dad spoke in a gentle tone, I followed him without hesitations.

Dad took me into their bedroom and revealed a long wooden box. Inside was a katana, its blade faintly humming with an energy I couldn't name.

"This blade was made from Riftborn remains," Dad said. "It's heavy, yes, but so is the responsibility you're taking on."

I gripped it, hiding the strain in my arms, and bowed.

"I won't let you down."

This will be epic, my new journey begins here, I won't let mother and father be dissapointed in me, I would show everyone I'll kick those Riftborns asses until they would stop spawning, and whoever was controlling them or if there was really a person behind all this, I would make everything I can to save this world. I'll make this world better I promise that I'll do this for the sake of my family! Watch me take them down. This journey begins now!
