Multiversal Rift
Scarlet and golden energies tangled as James chased Wanda through dimensional barriers. Universes flashed by—cyborg cities, a cursing Steve Rogers.
Bang! They crashed into a new battlefield. Wanda rose, stunned. Green Goblin knelt, face twisted. Sentry glowed like a sun. Thor raised Mjolnir, lightning surging. Captain America, Spider-Man, no Iron Man.
"Which universe?" James wondered.
The heroes froze, battle pausing. Global news helicopters broadcasted live. Wanda ignored them, magic erupting. "Don't stop me!"
James blocked, their clash sending heroes flying. Boom! The grassland flipped, debris soaring. Only Sentry and Thor stood, golden and lightning energies flickering.
"Who are you?!" Thor roared, hammer charging.
Sentry rose, energy flowing. "Stop, we're attacking Asgard—"
Wanda's eyes flashed. "Get lost!" Her chaos palm sent Sentry flying kilometers.
Boom! Sentry halted midair. "You!" His voice split. "You've angered the Void!"
Black energy seeped from Sentry, golden eyes darkening. "Die!!!"
Void Sentry, Chaos Wanda, Infinity James—three cosmic forces collided, the battlefield crumbling. News anchors stammered, "The ground's vanishing!"
Void's darkness eroded reality, Wanda's magic warped physics, James's gems stabilized balance. Thor charged, roaring, "In Odin's name, stop!" He was blasted into rubble, Mjolnir flying, unconscious.
"This can't continue!" Steve rasped, shield broken. "We'll all be erased!"
James's eyes blazed. "Enough!" Gems flared, a shockwave repelling Wanda and Sentry. His Reality Gem restored the ground, buildings, and dust.
"Impossible!" Green Goblin gaped. "Only I can stop him!"
Wanda tore another rift, fleeing. James used the Time Gem, reverting Sentry's Void. Sentry knelt, sane. "What did I do?"
"No time," James said, leaping into the rift. "Guard your universe."
Multiversal Rift
Wanda fled, her scarlet form eroding with darker energy. The Darkhold's face laughed, pages flipping. "Chaos Lord, I've found you!"
Another Universe, Small Town
A scarlet vortex opened, Wanda and James tumbling in. A cozy living room glowed, another Wanda making pancakes with two boys, maple syrup scenting the air, cartoons playing.
They froze, the boys cowering. "Mommy!" Tommy hid behind the other Wanda.
Wanda reached out, trembling. "I just…"
"Stay back!" the other Wanda shielded her kids. "Leave my home!"
Wanda froze, seeing her dream—normalcy, happiness. "I just want a family," she whispered, voice breaking.
Crack! The Darkhold's chains snapped, its face whispering, "They'll never accept you, but we can create your world."
Wanda's eyes turned scarlet, magic erupting. Boom! The house collapsed, the town becoming a blood-red wasteland, sky cracking. The family froze in a scarlet vortex like amber.
"Wanda, C'thon's controlling you," James said, hands forming seals.
"Control?" Her voice echoed. "I am chaos!"
Buzz! A golden portal opened. An old man in white robes stepped out, Eye of Agamotto glowing green. "This universe can't handle you," he said, nodding to James. "Ancient One, pleased to meet you."
"James," he replied.
The Ancient One sighed at Wanda. "Child, how long will you cling to this?"
"Why do they get happiness?!" Wanda shrieked, shaking the domain. "Why do I lose everything?!"
She attacked, magic surging. The Ancient One waved, a shield blocking it effortlessly. James blinked—this Ancient One was strong.
The Ancient One's Time Gem glowed. "True happiness isn't stolen by magic." Scenes flashed: the other Wanda crying alone, struggling with sick kids, bills, fights. "No one's life is perfect, but each loss makes you stronger than your parallels."
Wanda's magic faltered, a tear evaporating. The Darkhold screeched, "He's lying! Kill them!"
James touched her forehead, Mind Gem glowing. She saw her other self sleeping in his arms, sharing coffee at sunset, happy. "You don't need to copy anyone," he said softly.
The Darkhold burned, its face screaming. The Ancient One's cloak and Eye trapped it in green light. "Time to go, C'thon's fragment!"
Crack! The Darkhold turned to ash. Wanda's eyes cleared, collapsing in tears. "What have I done?"
The Ancient One turned to his portal. "Handle the rest, outsider."
The scarlet domain collapsed. James held Wanda, glancing at the restored house, the other Wanda and kids eating pancakes. He opened a rift home.
