Chapter 2 - 002: Genshin Project, First Invitation

At Weather Game Company.

Ken drove straight to the meeting room.

"Ken, are you sure you want to quit over this? Even giving up your parents' shares? Don't be rash," said Chairman Trump, feigning concern while inwardly glad to see Ken go.

The real reason: Ken's opinions often clashed with his during meetings. In Trump's eyes, Ken was just a recent grad living off his late parents' shares, yet he dared to challenge the board—utter nonsense.

As for Ken's Genshin Impact proposal, Trump dismissed it entirely. Youngsters should stick to watching anime at home, not making anime-style games. Absurd!

So Genshin Impact was vetoed.

"Yes, I'm here to sign the share transfer agreement," Ken replied.

He signed after confirming the contract.

He had no fear of the company stealing his idea; his pitch was intentionally vague to avoid theft, and the board had flatly rejected it anyway.

"Since you're set on leaving, I won't stop you. But let me remind you: don't get too lost in anime. Making games isn't realistic," Trump said, feeling much better now that Ken was gone.

Ken smiled, ignoring the sarcasm.

If it were before, he might have retorted with something dramatic. Now, he couldn't be bothered.

He just wanted to start his studio and launch Genshin Impact—not just for money, but to break the wall to Teyvat.

Who wouldn't choose an anime waifu if they could?

A month later…

A new game company called Star Dome quietly opened in the Magic City, founded by Ken.

With a full team, Ken immediately greenlit Genshin Impact.

"Boss, you're a genius!"

"The models, maps, artwork—perfect!"

"Weather's loss is our gain. This game will make us legends!"

The elite staff, whom Ken had painstakingly recruited, were stunned by the presentation. The data pack was detailed, but making a bug-free, stable game still required talent—hence the importance of his team.

Looking at the 3D models, maps, and storylines on the big screen, they were all in awe.

For Blue Star, where gaming was still in its infancy, Genshin Impact was a bombshell.

"Here's the basic gameplay and the first map, Mondstadt. All details are in the data pack. Import the files, set up anti-piracy, and we'll be ready for beta. It'll take about two months with our current resources," Ken instructed.

Meanwhile, he planned to invite more characters over—preferably for original voice work, or else find local VAs. He'd even found that the famous VAs from his past life existed here.

That night, back home, Ken finally had time to study the system.

After showering, he called out, "System, start invitation."

A rainbow beam appeared in his living room, swirling into a portal.

[Invitation Gate Open. Game progress: Mondstadt. Invitation area: Mondstadt only.]

[Invitation begins.]

Ken was excited. So many beautiful characters in Mondstadt—who would he get?

Eula, the Spindrift Knight? The elegant, reserved Jean? Or maybe the bomb-loving little Klee? Even Venti, the wine-loving bard, would do.
