Chapter 6 - 006: The Unknown is True Fear. Is Dad a God?

At that moment.

Teyvat Continent.

Windrise · Starfell Lake.

"Acting Grand Master Jean, it was right above Starfell Lake—a colorful vortex suddenly appeared, and Klee was sucked in."

After that event, Amber notified the Knights of Favonius at once.

Never mind that Klee is the Knights' Spark Knight.

Even if it were just an ordinary little girl, the Knights would never stand by and do nothing.

"Strange... There are no traces of elemental energy nearby."

Jean gripped the Favonius Sword, carefully sensing the elemental energy in the area, but found nothing unusual.

As the acting Grand Master, Jean is highly praised by Mondstadt's people.

Upon hearing Klee was taken by a colorful vortex, she rushed over without delay.

If something happened to Klee, the Knights wouldn't be able to answer to Ms. Alice when she returns.

Moreover,

After spending time together, everyone in the Knights is fond of little Klee.

"Acting Grand Master Jean, what exactly happened?"

A calm male voice came from behind. A boy with light blonde hair approached with a frown.

It was Albedo from the Knights of Favonius.

As an alchemist, Albedo usually keeps to himself, researching alchemy, and rarely appears at the Knights' HQ.

He came to Starfell Lake today only because Klee was taken by a mysterious force.

Albedo's entry into the Knights and his alchemy lab were all thanks to Ms. Alice's recommendation.

Since then, Albedo has treated Alice's only daughter as his own little sister.

Even though he was in the middle of an experiment, upon hearing Klee was taken, he immediately dropped everything and rushed to Starfell Lake.

"Here's what happened..." Amber recounted the events and said, confused, "When the vortex appeared, I didn't sense any elemental energy either."

Albedo mused, "If there are no traces of elemental usage, we can rule out the Abyss Order and the Fatui."

The power system of Teyvat is based on elemental energy.

Even the Abyss Order and Fatui rely on elemental power.

"So, where exactly did Klee go?"

Jean looked worried, deeply concerned.

Even if they can rule out the Abyss Mages or Fatui, the unknown is what's truly terrifying.

In other words,

Even if Klee met an Abyss Mage, with her strength she could defend herself.

What's scary is meeting something unknown.

"Mondstadt has never been hostile to others. Even if unknown forces appeared, their first target shouldn't be Klee."

Amber frowned.

If the unknown wanted to do something to Mondstadt, surely its first target would be the Anemo Archon, protector of the city, right?

Why go after a child?

Meanwhile, Barbatos, busking somewhere, suddenly sneezed.

Eh?

Who's talking about the Anemo Archon?

"Have the knights search the area around Windrise for any hidden caves. Klee must not come to harm," Jean decided immediately.

If something really happened to Klee, she dared not imagine what the world would become when Ms. Alice returned.

Albedo nodded, "Agreed, let's split up. Klee cannot be harmed."

...

Blue Star.

Ken tried to explain the basics of Blue Star to Klee in simple terms.

Fortunately, Klee often heard Alice mention Blue Star, so thanks to Ken's explanation, little Klee now had a rough understanding of this world.

"Daddy... are you planning to use our Teyvat Continent to make a game?"

When Klee heard Ken's plan, her eyes widened in surprise.

Wow!

Making a game with Teyvat as the background? Daddy is amazing!

But...

"Daddy, how do you know Teyvat's story? How do you know everyone there? Are you a god?"

To a child, parents are always powerful.

In Klee's eyes, the most mysterious and respected figure in Mondstadt is Barbatos, the Anemo Archon.

So upon hearing Ken's idea, Klee immediately thought of gods.

"Daddy isn't a god, but he has the ability to foresee the unknown, so he knows everything about Teyvat."

Ken didn't want to explain too much to Klee.

Mainly because she was still a child and wouldn't fully understand.

Telling her that Teyvat is just a virtual game created on Earth would be a blow.

Besides, Teyvat was now more than a virtual world.

If he could invite characters out and even travel there, it meant Teyvat had become a real, independent continent in a way.

"I get it! Daddy is awesome! Can I help you with anything?"

Klee asked excitedly.

If they could make Teyvat famous on Blue Star, that would be great, right?

Ken patted Klee's head: "Hmm... If little Klee wants, you can voice-act for the in-game Klee. This is the Klee in the game."

As he spoke,

Ken pulled up Klee's model and data, displaying them on the computer screen.

Klee's mouth fell open; she curiously moved the mouse to look at herself on the screen, then looked at her data... her cheeks suddenly blushed.
