"Yo… that vampire actually put him back home?" Milia muttered, crouched low as she adjusted the zoom on her scope. "Did he get abandoned or what?"
Her eyes narrowed as she watched Sylene earlier—stepping out of the house flustered, ears red, but very much unharmed.
Ilfa immediately reached out and smacked the back of her head.
"You idiot," he hissed. "Did you miss the stream of gifts? That much stuff doesn't scream abandonment."
Durin shifted slightly around Ilfa's neck, thick body tightening for a moment before settling again, warm and heavy.
Milia clicked her tongue, rubbing the back of her head. "So what—do we just watch this branch and head back to the main base later?"
Ilfa leaned back against the ledge, arms crossing as his gaze remained fixed on the house. "That's what Lord Zephyr ordered. Observation."
He paused, eyes narrowing slightly.
"But him settling down here like this… isn't that enough already?"
